Chapter 1 - The Archmage System

"Host's physical age has met the required threshold—"

"Archmage System now activating… beginning synchronization—"

"Synchronization complete. Host: Marius Cloud. Starter Pack ready for collection."

On the eve of his eleventh birthday, Marius Cloud stared blankly at the glowing messages floating before his eyes.

A moment later, Marius suddenly sprang off his oversized, plush bed, eyes wide with joy.

"Holy hell, this is awesome! I, Marius Cloud, have finally made it! I knew being reincarnated into this world couldn't come without some perks!"

Marius had once been a perfectly ordinary young citizen in England. But one day, he went to sleep and inexplicably woke up in the body of a newborn baby. It wasn't until he was a little older that he realized—he had been reborn into the Wizarding World of Harry Potter.

Fortunately, life after transmigration wasn't too bad. The family he was reborn into, the Cloud clan, was one of the oldest and most respected pure-blood houses in Britain's wizarding family. Rumor had it that their ancestors migrated from a mysterious land centuries ago. Their lineage commanded both respect and fear.

Still, there was one thing that always gnawed at Marius.

As the only heir to such a grand and ancient family, he should have inherited immense magical talent. At the very least, he should've exhibited some of the power expected from a child of such lineage.

And while he did inherit the Cloud family's famously good looks… his magical aptitude seemed disturbingly mediocre.

Most children from pure-blood families, especially those with strong bloodlines, showed early signs of raw Wizarding power—accidental outbursts caused by uncontrollable magic. Such phenomena weren't considered defects, but evidence of immense innate potential.

But Marius? Nothing. Not a flicker of uncontrolled magic. If you didn't know better, you'd think he was just another Muggle-born.

The other noble families had already begun whispering behind closed doors.

It looked like the once-great Cloud family—the Clouds—were about to fall from grace in this generation.

Thankfully, Marius's parents remained loving and fiercely protective of him. Not once did they treat him any differently because of his lack of visible talent. That unconditional love was what made Marius truly accept them as his parents in this life.

Still, the fact that the system took so long to show up left Marius feeling bitter.

"Seriously… why the hell are you only showing up now?" he muttered.

"Because the power contained within the System is immense," the system replied immediately.

"Binding it to a body that is too young could have caused catastrophic overload—resulting in host's body exploding."

Marius shivered at the thought. Still, curiosity won out. "And when the system was dormant all this time, it didn't affect me at all?"

"On the contrary. The system's latent presence significantly suppressed your natural magic."

"You've got to be kidding me!" Marius practically shouted in his head. So you're the reason everyone thought I had no talent?!

Right now, he really wanted to flip the system off. But despite the frustration, he forced himself to calm down and accept it. "Alright… fine. So, what exactly does this so-called 'Archmage System' do?"

"The Archmage System exists to assist the host in becoming the most powerful archmage in history. It can analyze your current power structure in detail and help unlock new sources of strength."

"Power structure? What do you mean by that?" Marius asked, intrigued.

"In this world, all humans—whether wizard or Muggle—are made up of three core power components:

Body, Magic, and Mind."

"Magic is the most dominant, followed by the mind, and the least developed is usually the body."

"Hmm…" Marius rubbed his chin thoughtfully. "And my levels in those three areas?"

The system instantly brought up a data panel:

Body (i.e, Physical): Level 1

Magic: Level 1

Mind (i.e, Spiritual or Mental): Level 1

"…Wow." Marius felt like crying. Weren't transmigrators supposed to be overpowered prodigies from birth?

But the idea of a tiered power structure caught his interest.

"Wait. You said 'Level 1'—so these power types have stages?"

"Correct. Each of the three components has ten levels. You're currently at Level 1, the baseline for most ordinary children."

Marius nodded. "One last question—what exactly is this 'Starter Pack' you mentioned?"

"Would the host like to open the Starter Pack now?"

"Open it," Marius answered without hesitation.

A new message flashed before him:

Starter Pack Unlocked:

One random ability drawAll three core stats upgraded by one level!

As soon as the words appeared, Marius felt a surge of energy coursing through his body. Glancing at the status panel, he saw that his Body, Magic, and Mind had all jumped to Level 2.

Eager to test it out, Marius leapt from bed and began shoving the heavy rosewood furniture in his room. Surprisingly, despite his childlike appearance, he could now move them around with ease.

"So that's it… This furniture wouldn't budge with a normal kid's strength, but now that my body is Level 2, I must have the strength of a grown man…"

He grinned with satisfaction. His magical and mental stats had increased too, but those weren't as easy to test—at least not right now.

He turned his attention to the other part of the Starter Pack. "Let's get to the draw. Start the lottery."

The system lit up in a dazzling glow before gradually slowing down and revealing the result:

Congratulations! You've obtained a Level 1 Mutant Ability: Regeneration.

"Wait… mutant ability?" Marius blinked. "Pretty sure there are no mutants in the Harry Potter universe…"

"The draw pool is not limited to this world."

That revelation made Marius light up. "So that means… there's a chance I can get powers from other worlds too?!"

He immediately thought of something: Regeneration—wasn't that basically a nerfed version of Wolverine's healing factor?

If the ability leveled up enough, maybe even the Killing Curse wouldn't be enough to take him out.

Now that would be epic.

Imagine… a wizard who can tank an Avada Kedavra and still beat his enemy into the ground.

Talk about a living legend.

"The host's current Regeneration ability is at Level 1. It allows for slow healing of all non-lethal injuries."

Marius sighed. So no tanking Killing Curses just yet.

Still, it was a promising start. He'd just need to avoid anything fatal for now.

But overall, the night had been filled with nothing but good news. Feeling exhilarated, Marius climbed back into bed with a grin and quickly drifted into a deep, satisfied sleep.
