Chapter 44 - Just what is wrong with me?

I watched him as he pressed his body into mine and a single thought came to mind.

Was he really going to—

"Almost forgot," he whispered, the corners of his mouth tugging upward as he pulled the seatbelt across my chest and clicked it into place. "Safety first."

I froze. My heart was thumping so heavily.

Just now... I was sure he was going to kiss me but then he put on my seat belt. After we had come this far?

I felt embarrassed. What kind of thoughts was I entertaining?

Tae-Hyun watched my reaction and leaned back, satisfied, while I snapped my gaze to the window, pressing my forehead against the glass to hide the flush spreading across my face.

But my reflection on the glass was enough to give me away.

Damn it.

His chuckle was low, warm, and irritatingly smug. I caught the curve of his smile in the corner of my vision, and it only made my stomach twist tighter.

And then, I noticed his gaze lingered longer than it should have on a particular spot.
