Four–one!
That scoreline plunged Stamford Bridge into a deathly silence.
That man—two goals, two assists—dragged Chelsea fans straight back into the nightmare they'd suffered two years earlier.
Derek Rae couldn't help but sigh.
"When Su Hang shifted from the left flank to the right, Chelsea fans mocked him, saying he couldn't survive on the left anymore."
"But judging by the scoreline, the Su Hang who scored twice on the left looks more like someone who conquered that side first—before moving on to conquer the right!"
"And once again, he succeeded! Two assists from the right flank!"
"Real Madrid already have one foot in the Champions League semifinals!"
"That's an incredible achievement!"
"Since the 1998–1999 season, Real Madrid have only failed to reach the Champions League semifinals once—in the 2003–2004 campaign!"
"They lifted the trophy in 2000, 2002, and 2006."
"And in all three of Su Hang's Champions League seasons with the club, he has played a decisive role!"
"Without him, the Galácticos would've started strong only to collapse into a joke."
"Without him, this season's Real Madrid would've already fallen apart, crashing straight into the ground. There'd be no talk of a post-Galácticos era, let alone competing for titles."
"That's exactly why he became Real Madrid's captain!"
As Real Madrid celebrated wildly, Capello substituted Raúl for Zidane.
On the one hand, it gave the old captain some minutes.
On the other, it was a protective move for Zidane.
His first match back from injury, nearly seventy minutes already—one careless moment and he could've been headed straight back to rehab.
In the seventy-first minute, play resumed as usual, with Real Madrid still pressing forward.
It wasn't that Chelsea didn't want to take the initiative.
They simply couldn't.
After being pinned back all match, they no longer had the ability to dictate anything.
That's the biggest weakness of counterattacking teams—once they fall behind, it's hard for them to organize real attacks. Everything they try ends up looking like another counter.
Chelsea pressed outside the penalty area.
Possession changed hands repeatedly.
Raúl received the ball, was knocked over by Makélélé, and played it back.
Guti then fouled Carvalho, who had been using his body to shield the ball.
The ball popped loose.
Terry and Ashley Cole both charged toward it.
But Su Hang got there first, spinning away from Terry with a Marseille turn.
And not an ordinary one—a Marseille turn at full speed.
That move demands extraordinary technique and physical ability.
Especially the rapid pivot—it's enough to make your head feel like it's about to fly off.
To exaggerate just a little, any player who can pull off a high-speed Marseille turn might even pass a pilot's medical exam.
On the bench, Zidane leapt to his feet instantly.
If he weren't so modest, this move might well be called the Zidane Turn.
No one understood this skill better than he did—not even the man who originally made it famous.
The Marseille turn is elegant, but it's best used against a single defender.
And only when you're absolutely certain of their movement.
Otherwise, you risk being hit halfway through.
During the turn, there's a moment when the body has no solid support. A hit from behind at that instant can easily damage the lower back or spine.
At high speed, a collision during a Marseille turn is nothing short of a car crash.
No matter how strong you are, if the contact point is right, one hit is enough to take you out.
On the pitch!
Su Hang's Marseille turn shook off Terry—but dropped him directly into Ashley Cole's path.
Ashley Cole was moving too fast.
There was no chance to change direction.
No time at all.
Bang!
The camera caught Su Hang still standing on the ball as Ashley Cole crashed into him. Cole's shoulder slammed squarely into Su Hang's waist, taking the full brunt of the impact.
Su Hang's body was launched nearly two meters backward before he hit the ground hard.
Everything happened far too fast.
The referee was right there. He immediately blew his whistle, stopped play, and—visibly shaken—signaled urgently for the stretcher to come on.
After hitting the ground, Su Hang didn't roll around in agony.
His consciousness wasn't even fully clear.
In a haze, he saw patches of white light… blurred figures.
That pale, foggy world seemed to last only an instant—at least to Su Hang.
But when he opened his eyes again, he was lying in a hospital bed.
"He's awake! Su Hang's awake!"
That was the first thing he heard.
Soon after, a large group of doctors rushed in.
Even his parents—who normally made millions a day and were rarely seen together—had arrived side by side.
"What happened? What's wrong with me? Is it serious?"
Su Hang snapped back to clarity and turned on the TV.
April 6th.
The match against Chelsea had been on April 4th.
He'd been unconscious for two full days?
"Ashley Cole has responded to the midweek Champions League incident, stating that the referee's decision to show him a red card was correct."
"Although he had no intention of injuring Su Hang, the consequences were severe, and he believes he deserved to be sent off."
"Ashley Cole also expressed deep remorse, saying that he and his family have been praying for Su Hang continuously for the past two days, hoping he would wake up soon."
"It's also reported that Ashley Cole was hospitalized with a dislocated arm after the incident. Medical staff said he was extremely anxious and frightened throughout, repeatedly asking about Su Hang's condition and crying like a child."
On screen, Ashley Cole was still in tears during the interview.
His regret and fear were unmistakable.
Su Hang spotted his phone by the bedside and immediately unlocked it.
Countless messages flooded in, along with headline after headline.
