Chapter 88 - Chapter 88 – Merus, You Show Off Your Dad Too!

"I can't leave it here. What if someone steals it?" Ken said righteously.

Merus' face darkened. He nodded stiffly. "Do as you like."

The three of them left the spaceship and entered the divine realm's space.

"The Underworld!" Broly's face lit with excitement and anticipation.

Merus glanced at him again and repeated his warning. "Mister Broly, let me stress this once more—don't cause trouble."

Broly nodded.

"Then…" Merus raised his right hand.

"Crack!"

A staff materialized in his grip.

Broly's curiosity only grew. He circled around Merus, scratching his head in confusion.

Where did that stick come from? Did he grow it from a tail?

Broly tugged at Merus' pants and peeked at his backside.

"No tail…" Broly muttered, scratching at his head.

"Not in front or back?" Ken asked in surprise.

"Front?" Broly moved to check.

Merus smacked his hands away at once.

You two are out of line.

"Tell me, do angels even have tails?" Ken asked.

Merus' face blackened, and he stayed silent.

"Crack!"

Merus lifted his staff high, and the orb at its tip blazed with dazzling light.

"Boundary Break!"

The words rolled softly from his lips.

"Whoosh!"

Space distorted at once.

Golden clouds unfurled before them, and atop those clouds a vast stretch of buildings appeared. Among them, countless shadowy souls drifted.

"That is the Underworld. Judging by the time, Mister Muse' soul should still be waiting in line for King Yemma's judgment," Merus explained.

"Then let's hurry inside," Ken suggested.

"Once we find his soul, we'll erase the memories of his death. The rest we'll let him keep," Merus said.

"No problem." Ken nodded.

"Shoosh, shoosh, shoosh!"

The three of them plunged into the strange space ahead.

In an instant, they emerged over the Underworld.

"Crack!"

Ken waved his hand, cloaking himself, Merus, and Broly in angel power, rendering them invisible.

Merus gave a satisfied nod and scanned the souls below.

"There!" Ken pointed to one.

Merus looked and saw him—Muse.

"This guy never stays still, even dead," Ken chuckled.

He had spotted Muse right away because the man was bouncing and yelling in line.

Well, it made sense. As the son of a God of Destruction, he thought his status meant something here.

But in truth, King Yemma's rank wasn't even as high as a Kai. Above a Kai was a Supreme Kai.

And while Supreme Kais were equal in rank to Gods of Destruction, the Destroyers were stronger, which made other gods wary of them.

So of course Muse was puffed up with pride.

Still, he wasn't a god—just a mortal.

"You know who I am?" Muse soul shouted in line, thumb to his nose. "My father is a God of Destruction! You dare make me wait here? Do you know how long I've been standing? Half an hour! When's my turn, huh?!"

Before he could finish, two oni slammed their forks down and pinned him to the ground.

Muse screamed in pain.

"How dare you! My father is a God of Destruction!" he shouted louder, trying to endure the agony.

"God of Destruction, my ass! In the Underworld, no matter what god you are, you behave!"

"Here, Lord Yemma is the greatest!" the oni barked, holding him down.

"King Yemma is nothing! Before my father, even he would kneel!" Muse screamed hysterically.

From above, Merus sighed and shook his head.

The son of Universe 3's God of Destruction was unbelievably arrogant.

But barging into Universe 7's Underworld and making a scene? Really?

"We'll clear his memory here. Too many eyes below," Merus said, pointing his staff's orb at Muse.

"Merus, who's your father? Must be someone extraordinary," Ken suddenly asked.

"Well… yes." Merus hesitated, then admitted, "My father is the Grand Priest. He's the strongest god in all the universes. No one can oppose him."

"Then next time someone brags in front of you, bring up your dad. Tell them your father is the Grand Priest." Ken patted his shoulder.

Merus: "..."

So I'm supposed to live off my father's name? That's not me.

"Shoom!"

Angel power flared from his staff, flowing invisibly over Muse.

In an instant, Muse forgot all about how he had died.

"Let's go. It's done," Merus said with a smile.

"But what about King Yemma's Book of Life and Death? Won't it still list him as dead?" Ken asked.

"Oh… right. I nearly forgot. We'll need to change the record, or it'll cause problems." Merus realized.

"Let me try." Ken stretched out his robotic arm, aiming at the book in King Yemma's hands.

"First find Muse page, then alter the entry," Merus instructed.

"Easy enough." Ken released a thread of angel power from the robot's hand.

"Shoosh!"

The glowing line stretched out and struck the book, letting Ken search through its pages for Muse record.
