Chapter 21 - Chapter 21 Entering the Tomb

When the elevator stabilized and Luka and Olivia walked into the mine tunnel, a series of information sounded in his ears, and several lines of text were projected into his field of vision.

"Enter the alien ruins and activate a series of tasks"

"Task 1: Explore the current ruins"

"Mission: The alien ruins contain both dangers and rewards. Please explore and find out the current situation of the ruins."

"Mission 2: Clear the aliens in the ruins"

Mission: There are still traces of aliens left in the ancient alien ruins. Clean them up to prevent them from threatening the empire.

"Mission 3: Destroy the current alien ruins (optional)"

"Mission content: The existence of alien ruins threatens the stability of this planet. You can choose to completely destroy it."

Mission 4: Unknown

"Quest content: Explore the ruins to obtain more information to unlock this task"

Seeing the series of task information popping up in front of him, Luka nodded in understanding.

He was still wondering how to trigger more tasks. After all, there was only one novice task and one main task, which made him lose the direction of completing the tasks.

Now that he had come up with such a series of tasks, he finally had a direction on how to improve his authority level and obtain more points.

The points provided by Old Man Huang can still be exchanged for a lot of good things. Luka also hopes to get more points so that he can exchange them for more things.

He has already set his eyes on the psychic talent exchange option and plans to exchange it for a θ-level psychic talent.

This level of psychic talent is medium and not particularly powerful, but individuals with this level of talent can be aware of the existence of psychic power and control it through their own efforts.

Relatively speaking, this is a more stable level of psychic power that is less likely to get out of control. Most of the psychics in the Inquisition and the Astronomican are at this level.

If the talent is higher, it will be more dangerous and need supervision.

And don't underestimate psychics at this level. They are already regarded as true psychics who can exert their powerful strength on the battlefield.

Take the Inquisitor chess piece controlled by Luka as an example. Its psychic level is only η, one level higher than θ, but he can already knead a Space Marine wearing power armor into a ceramic steel meatball with just one move.

As for higher-level psychic talents, it's not that Luka doesn't want them, but psychics of this level are no longer able to control themselves and require special supervision and control to restrain their untrained psychic talents.

And as the level of psychic talent increases, the danger level also increases.

Unless an untrained δ or γ-level psyker can be trained and controlled quickly after his psionic awakening, the only fate that awaits him is death due to his talent running wild.

And an alpha class... that would literally tear apart an entire planet, even tearing open the barrier between reality and the subspace, causing the destruction of a planet.

And according to relevant research of the Empire, human genes are not sufficient to control this level of psychic power, unless they are Primarchs or Immortals.

However, if Luka had α-level psychic power now, he would not need to go down into the mine with Olivia in person.

Whether it is using psychic power for predictive divination or simply pulling the entire ruins out from underground, it is an easy task for an Alpha level.

"Are these black stones natural minerals or alien creations?" Walking in the tunnel at the bottom of the mine, looking at the obsidian-like sediments around her, Olivia asked Luka curiously.

The Human Empire's research on Black Stone is still in its early stages, and even the Mechanicus has only recently learned of the existence of this magical mineral.

Olivia finally met someone who seemed to be very knowledgeable about this kind of thing, so she naturally wanted to find out more.

"It's hard to say exactly where it came from. At least the information I've collected doesn't explain whether this material is naturally formed or was created by some alien race." Luka said, reaching out to touch the cut black sediment beside him. "But the black stone we see now all comes from the creation of the Necrons. These ancient aliens once built a large number of black stone creations throughout the universe.

These black stones are also the main materials they use to build their tombs or spaceships. Currently, all the black stones discovered by the Empire are basically various architectural ruins built by the Necrons."

"In other words, we are demolishing their houses?" Olivia summarized it with a more vivid metaphor.

"I prefer to call it digging their graves." Luka said, suddenly pointing forward and asking Olivia: "Is this the entrance to the ruins you discovered?"

In front of him and Olivia, there was a gap in the wall that looked like it had collapsed, and there were some strange inscriptions and symbols nearby.

At the entrance of the tunnel, several automatic defense turrets block the area.

"Yes, this is the entrance to the ruins." Olivia stepped forward, controlling several armed servitors she had brought with her and entering the breach first. "For various reasons, I have never explored it before."

"It's right to be cautious. Perhaps you should be thankful that you didn't explore rashly." Luka approached the breach and looked at the strange inscriptions around it. "These inscriptions are the language of the Necrons. Although we can't translate them yet, at least seeing them tells us that Necrons must be buried beneath."

As Luka spoke, he asked his servo skull to record it.

Although the inscriptions of these Necrons are very mysterious and have not yet been deciphered by the Empire, Luka believes that after collecting enough samples, he will be able to analyze them.

Seeing this, Olivia naturally did the same thing.

After both of them recorded these inscriptions, they crawled into the gap together and came to the so-called alien ruins.

As soon as you enter the ruins, what comes into view is a somewhat dilapidated stone chamber. There are traces of fighting everywhere, and there are many scratches on the walls.

The mechanical servants brought by Olivia guarded the entrance to the room, and several damaged-looking metal beetles were scattered on the floor of the stone chamber.

Luka squatted down, picked up one of the beetles, examined it, and handed it to Olivia. "This is a Necromancer Scarab, a mechanical structure used by the Necrons to maintain tombs. Have you seen these insects the last time you were here?"

"No, I didn't see these bugs here the last time I came here." Olivia answered affirmatively after checking the records of her last visit.
