The Blood Oath Society had not entered the Rostov Sub-Sector before; their main area of activity was in the core region of the Mariupol Sector.
The history of this society is not long, originating roughly during the era when the Mariupol Sector was still expanding.
At that time, a Hospitaller from the Ecclesiarchy followed Pilgrims and the Sector's pioneers to this star system, consistently fulfilling her vow to provide medical services to ordinary people, helping many common folk.
Today, many customs of the Blood Oath Society originate from this Sister, such as providing medical services to ordinary people and using blood therapy.
That original Sister was a Hospitaller skilled in blood therapy. She summarized and perfected the blood therapy currently used by the Blood Oath Society and promoted it. The Blood Oath Society's initial members were this Sister's medical apprentices.
According to legend, during a plague that affected the entire Sector, this Sister made a vow in the blood of the deceased, swearing to save more innocent people.
She fulfilled her vow and eventually passed away due to overwork and illness.
After this Sister's death, the Ecclesiarchy of the Sector once attempted to canonize her as a Saint, but due to various constraints, this Sister ultimately could not be granted sainthood.
However, the Blood Oath Society she left behind was recognized by the Terra Ecclesiarchy Headquarters, becoming one of the legitimate branches of the Ecclesiarchy.
The specifics of the political maneuvering back then are no longer verifiable, but the Blood Oath Society thus established roots in the Mariupol Sector.
They still follow the path of the original Sister, providing medical services to ordinary people through blood therapy, while the Hospitallers within the sect continue to research and perfect the blood therapy left by that Sister. For this, they made a covenant called the 'Blood Oath' and combined concepts like 'blood' and 'dedication' with Ecclesiarchy doctrine, developing them into the main belief system of the current Blood Oath Society.
They follow a path called the Path of Blood, proclaiming that blood is a dedication to the God-Emperor, that healthy people donating blood can help the sick and weak, and that injecting the blood of healthy people into the bodies of the sick and weak can bring them the same health.
Healthy people should share their health so that all the Emperor's subjects may share the same health.
Therefore, blood donation is an act of faith in the God-Emperor, and blood is the most direct offering to the God-Emperor.
At first glance, this belief system seems to have no problems. Incorporating blood donation into the faith system and encouraging healthy people to donate blood to help more people in need is indeed a very good concept.
Aside from the religious elements mixed in, there is nothing wrong with it.
The blood therapy inherited from the first Blood Oath Sister has been perfected by generations of Sisters and is now quite mature.
Although it is indeed much less efficient compared to the Adeptus Mechanicus's technology, it has an advantage: it is inexpensive and can be widely applied, and ordinary common folk can afford the medical costs.
Furthermore, the unique blood elixirs they have developed also play a very important role, becoming a crucial resource for the Blood Oath Society.
A miraculous elixir that can rapidly regenerate a patient's blood, capable of cleansing the patient's body in a short time, replacing all the blood within them, and washing away illness and weakness.
All of this gives the Blood Oath Society a significantly important position in the Mariupol Sector.
Previously, it was mainly because Rostov was not established very long ago, and this was not the Blood Oath Society's main area of activity, so the Blood Oath Society had not sent anyone here.
In fact, in the main core areas of Mariupol, the altars of the Blood Oath Society are widely distributed; they can be seen in almost every Hive City, with their red figures and outposts that are called altars but are actually medical stations.
However, now, on the streets of Rostov, Blood Oath Society altars with two red pillars can also be seen.
Kaldor Draigo and Aarn, having removed their Power Armor, changed into ordinary clothes and arrived here as Pilgrims.
Although the old Space Marine was tall, he was not as exaggeratedly so as a Primaris Space Marine. Walking among the crowd, he was only slightly conspicuous but not abrupt.
Therefore, when the two Space Marines arrived at this Blood Oath Society altar, they did not attract much attention.
This also allowed them to observe everything here well, understand the operation of the Blood Oath Society, and thus determine whether there was truly any heretical behavior involved.
If viewed solely from appearances, these Blood Oath Society priests and Sisters cannot be considered heretics; in fact, they can be said to be quite devout followers of the Ecclesiarchy.
They sincerely help everyone who needs help. As long as someone truly suffering from illness comes to them for assistance, they always accept them without refusal.
The person seeking help will be placed on a bed, and blood will be collected with a blood collector for analysis.
After completing the initial diagnosis, the Blood Oath Society's priest or Sister will inject the blood donated by healthy individuals into the patient's body, or use some blood elixirs mixed with herbs into a paste to provide treatment to the patient.
And when they heal the person seeking help, the only reward they desire is for the healed person to donate blood again.
As for money or other things, it all depends on the voluntary donations of followers; the Blood Oath Society does not charge a single cent for healing those who seek help.
"Judging solely by their actions, I have not found any heretical behavior," Aarn observed everything before him, quietly conversing with Kaldor Draigo.
Kaldor Draigo also nodded; he likewise found no trace of heretical behavior.
However, neither of them found this strange. If heretical behavior were so easily discovered, there would not be so many incidents of corruption within the Imperium.
"Further observation is needed, or a deeper understanding," Kaldor Draigo thought for a moment, feeling that no more clues could be gathered here, so he decided to leave and find the Governor's Office spies Rachel the Chamberlain had provided them.
However, just as the two were about to leave, a Hospitaller in a red robe came before them and asked for their help: "Sirs, someone over there needs help. I wonder if you two could lend a hand?"
Facing the request for help, Kaldor Draigo and Aarn exchanged glances and did not refuse.
But at the same time, both subtly touched the weapons they carried, mentally preparing for combat if necessary.
However, nothing unexpected happened; the Hospitaller merely hoped that these two seemingly tall individuals could help lift a patient.
