Chapter 16 - Quiet revelations

The days flowed softly between Liora and Mara, each one a gentle unfolding of trust and connection. The rooftop garden became their refuge — a place where silence and conversation intertwined like the delicate vines climbing the trellis.

One evening, as twilight painted the sky in dusky pinks and purples, they sat close together, the city's hum far below. The cool breeze carried the scent of jasmine, wrapping around them like a whispered secret.

Mara broke the silence, her voice low and tentative. "There's something I want to tell you, something I've kept hidden."

Liora turned to her, heart tightening with a mix of curiosity and concern. "You can tell me anything."

Mara hesitated, then took a steadying breath. "I haven't always been honest with myself — or with others. I've been afraid of what it means, what it could cost me."

Liora's fingers found Mara's, squeezing gently in reassurance. "We all have fears. But you don't have to face them alone."

Mara's eyes glistened with unshed tears. "Being with you makes me want to be brave — to face the parts of me I've buried."

Liora's heart swelled. "We can be brave together."

The night deepened around them, the space between words filled with understanding and quiet promise. The language of flowers had opened the door, but it was their own truth now — fragile, real, and beautiful — that would guide the

m forward.
