"Teacher, you're awake!"
Zhu Ziyang was overwhelmed with joy, instantly sweeping away the disappointment from being unable to enter the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well.
Half a year ago, Electrolux had fallen into slumber once again to stabilize his divine soul. Before sleeping, he told Zhu Ziyang that this time, his divine soul would be fully consolidated and would no longer risk dissipating. Now that Electrolux was awake, it meant the slumber had been a complete success!
"Mm!" Electrolux's voice carried both joy and a trace of irritation as he said, "We'll talk about the rest later. For now, let's deal with the problem at hand."
"Teacher, do you have a way to deal with these poisonous plants?" Zhu Ziyang asked excitedly.
"You brat! You clearly haven't been practicing your necromancy properly over these six months. Otherwise, how could a bunch of wild weeds give you such a hard time?" Electrolux didn't answer directly but scolded him with great dissatisfaction.
"Ah?" Zhu Ziyang looked embarrassed, then suddenly realized something and blurted out in shock, "Right! How could I forget that?"
His strange behavior drew the attention of Yan Shaozhe and the others. Yan Shaozhe asked with confusion, "Junior Brother, what is it? Did something come to mind?"
"Yes!" Zhu Ziyang composed himself, smiling broadly. "Senior Brother, Senior Sister, Nannan, I've figured out a way to deal with the Jade-Scaled Sevenfold Flowers!"
"Really?" All three were shocked and stared at him intently.
"Hmm hmm!" Zhu Ziyang hummed smugly. "Just watch."
As he spoke, he summoned the Stillness Fate Ending Scythe. Four soul rings glowed behind him, and the first soul ring lit up. Under their curious gazes, he slashed out a blade of death energy with the scythe, which struck a cluster of Jade-Scaled Sevenfold Flowers. The blade landed on the leaves and instantly burst into a five-meter wide circular zone. Gray airflow filled the area, enveloping all the flowers within.
What happened next left the others dumbfounded. The vibrant flowers within the gray zone quickly changed from green to yellow, then yellow to gray, and finally turned lifeless white. In just a few minutes, the entire area of thriving toxic plants wilted and decayed into soil.
Death power!
If not for Electrolux's timely reminder, Zhu Ziyang would have forgotten that death energy was the most effective counter to plant life. All plants rely on life force. Once tainted by death energy, they can do nothing but wither and decay as their life force is drained.
Though the Jade-Scaled Sevenfold Flowers were rare and extremely poisonous, they still belonged to the plant category. Against the death energy of the Stillness Fate Ending Scythe, they were like snow meeting fire — instantly dissolved.
"This is death energy!" Yan Shaozhe and Cai Meier quickly realized the truth behind the phenomenon. Both were shocked and grave, yet also thrilled. Yan Shaozhe exclaimed, "Excellent, Junior Brother! These Jade-Scaled Flowers are no longer a threat!"
"Exactly!" Cai Meier agreed. "We might even be able to clear out this entire area and halt the spread of the miasma!"
Zhu Ziyang, however, didn't respond. He was fully focused on refining the life force of the Jade-Scaled Flowers. His expression was solemn — the life force of these plants was immensely rich. As it entered his body through the Stillness Fate Ending Scythe, part of it tempered his physique, part solidified his soul, and part flowed into his soul rings. The power of ultimate light shone on his mind, helping him stay true to himself and resist the addictive euphoria of absorbing life force.
In his spiritual sea, Electrolux watched his performance with both pride and satisfaction.
About fifteen minutes later, Zhu Ziyang completely refined the life force from the five-meter area of Jade-Scaled Sevenfold Flowers. Most of the energy had been converted into soul ring age. He could feel that his first soul ring had reached six hundred years, up by a hundred. His second and third soul rings had also increased by over ten years each. Only the fourth ring showed no change — the life force wasn't strong enough to affect it.
His expression was calm, but inside, he was thrilled. This was his first time enhancing soul ring age by devouring life force. It made him truly realize the terrifying potential of death power. Without a firm will, one could easily fall and become a wicked demon drunk on sin.
He was grateful to have the purifying power of ultimate light — and a teacher who had once returned from the depths of corruption.
"Junior Brother, are you alright?" Yan Shaozhe and Cai Meier stood in front of him with concern.
"I'm fine, Senior Brother, Senior Sister." Zhu Ziyang smiled and said, "I think we can keep going now."
"That's great!" The two immediately relaxed. Cai Meier suggested, "Why don't we clear more of these Jade-Scaled Flowers before looking for the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well?"
"No," Yan Shaozhe refused outright. "It's better to find the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well first. This forest is too mysterious. Let's settle things quickly before unexpected trouble arises."
"I agree with Senior Brother," Zhu Ziyang nodded. "Finding the well should be our priority. We can deal with the flowers later."
Zhu Ziyang had already treated this Jade-Scaled Flower field as a training ground for his death power. With such a perfect location, even if Cai Meier hadn't suggested it, he would have. A massive, harmful group like this? He could devour them without the slightest guilt.
"Alright then." Seeing the agreement between the two, Cai Meier didn't push further.
"Okay. Nannan, you lead the way next!" Zhu Ziyang turned to Jiang Nannan.
"Got it!" Jiang Nannan, finally with something to do, brightened up and activated her martial soul. Soon, she sensed spiritual herbs within a five-mile radius. "This way!"
The group advanced in the direction she indicated. They divided responsibilities clearly: Jiang Nannan led, Zhu Ziyang cleared a path through the toxic flowers, while Yan Shaozhe and Cai Meier protected them and handled any Jade-Scaled Ninefold Flowers that appeared.
Progress was smooth. Though slow, they managed to travel hundreds of meters over several hours, reaching the center of the Jade-Scaled Flower region.
Their spirits soared. At this rate, they could break through the poisonous flower field and reach the hidden valley by nightfall.
The Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well was within reach!

At the moment when Yan Shaozhe failed to destroy the miasma cloud, far away atop a towering mountain, in a majestic ancient fortress, a blue-gold wind chime began ringing without any breeze.
The ringing summoned two burly men.
One was a middle-aged man with long teal hair draped over his broad shoulders. His plain green eyes seemed unremarkable, yet radiated a quiet strength that hinted at the fierce energy within.
The other was a muscular brute with dense, steel-like short hair. His chiseled face looked like it had been carved with a blade, and his brown-yellow eyes glinted with faint golden light. His gray robe barely hid his bulging muscles.
"Why is he sending an order now?" the short-haired man asked, surprised.
"Someone is attacking that place," the long-haired man said calmly after closing his eyes in sensing. Then he opened them again and added, "Second Brother, go have a look."
"What!" The short-haired man was stunned. "Didn't he place a formation there?"
"Likely someone stumbled in and triggered the divine sense he left behind. That place is critical to our brother-in-law's plans. We can't risk any mishaps. Just drive them off — don't kill anyone. Things are delicate right now. We don't want unnecessary attention."
"Alright, I'll go." Though reluctant, the short-haired man didn't argue. He grumbled, "Feels like I'm his servant."
"Second Brother!" the long-haired man snapped, face turning stern.
"Alright, alright! Just venting, no need to be so touchy!" The short-haired man realized he'd gone too far and quickly backed down. Then his figure flickered and vanished from the hall.
