In a lab that is a striking, open space with glass walls, metal walkways, and a brightly lit central platform where skeletons are examined. Surrounding it are specialized work areas for anthropology, ballistics, entomology, and Angela Montenegro's holographic reconstruction tech, the Angelatron. Lined with shelves of bones, evidence storage, and advanced forensic equipment, the lab blends museum-like grandeur with cutting-edge science, there are 4 scientist sorrounding a body that has been cannibalised by a mysterious serial killer called Gormogan, studying the victims bones.
These 4 scientist are Dr. Temperance "Bones" Brennan, Zack Addy, Camille Saroyan and Jack Hodgins. They are a team of forensic anthropologists, entomologist and coroner who work with the FBI to take down murderers. However this latest kill from Gormagon is different to all the other kills. They have gathered a lead that could lead them to Gormagon, or will it really lead to him or someone who would change their lives forever.
-Scene Change-
In a dilapidated warehouses, surrounded by dead bodies, there is a tall, lithe man, his hair is messy and oily, that cover most of his face, leaving an angular jaw exposed. He looks as if he is homeless. In front of him is a canvas, that shows an extraordinary painting of the bodies that sorround him. It's dark and horrifying image, cannot take away the amazing art work that it shows. It's as if he was given a god given talent, an era defining talent for painting, as if every other painter was nothing compared to him.
As he was drawing, outside the warehouse, a group of armed FBI agents were ready to break into the warehouse. Leading them is legendary sniper Special Agent Seeley Booth. Someone who works closely with the Forensic Anthropologist Dr. Temperance Brennan.
"Alright guys, this is nothing special. Just like every other takedown. I'll be leading the squad on a possible lead of the serial killer Gormagon. It is known that he has an apprentice, so just in case, you guys need to watch out for them, but our main objective should be Gormagon." Stated Agent Booth as he gives the order to go in.
As they enter the warehouse, they spot the homeless looking man sorrounding by the bodies of the dead, and assume that he may be Gormagon.
"FBI HANDS IN THE AIR! HANDS IN THE AIR." Said a cacophony of voices as they raise their standard issue SWAT weapons, aiming at the homeless man.
The man doesn't do anything but continue painting, ignoring the commotion that is ensuing behind him, and continues painting.
After a while, he puts down the paint brush, and stands up to admire his work. Nobody moves as they assess the man.
"I'm not Gormagon" he states, without looking st anything else but his painting.
"Then who are you!?" Shouts Booth
"Someone above your pay grade." Replies the homeless man.
As soon as he said that, booth approaches him and puts in handcuffs, escorting him outside where Bones was waiting inside the car.
"Is that him?" She asks
"I don't know" Booth replies; "I'm going to find out who though."
As he says this the homeless man inside the car, slips through his handcuffs and lies down in the backseat of the car.
Both Bones and Booth look tense as well as flabbergasted at the audacity of the man. For assurance Booth requests an extra agent to go into the backseat and watch the homeless man.
-Scene Change-
In the FBI interrogation room, both Booth and Bones, sit opposite the man. Both not saying anything to each other.
"You were abused as a child" said the homeless man, breaking the silence. "Your father was a mean drunk who would beat you and your mother, your mother left, abandoned you, your grandfather must've taken you in after your catching your father. You joined the army, possibly a ranger. You were a sniper. Porbably one of the best. You have a child. A boy. Your separated from your partner. You have feeling for this lady next to you but your too scared to ruin your partnership to do anything about it. She is oblivious to these feelings. Probably because she doesn't look at the world a normal person would. She was also abandoned as a child by both parents. Raised in a foster system. That's why you don't trust your feelings as you don't want to get too attached. You chose a career in the dead because you can make sense of them but not the real world. You are extremely rational person, who lives her whole life by a plan. You…" he continues analysing the people in front of him before he was interrupted.
"WHO TOLD YOU THIS!" Shouted Booth, shocked from his whole life being stated.
"You did. Everything about you." Replies the homeless man, "in 10 seconds 15 armed men from the secret service will be storming this place, I suggest you back away."
Bones and Booth, look completely confused by the statement given.
"What do you mean?"asks Bones.
"In, now five seconds, this room will be filled with secret service to reclaim me." He replies.
And in exactly five seconds 15 heavily armed unidentified men break down the door, aiming their guns at the homeless man, slamming him onto the table while cuffing his arms legs, wrapping his body in rope and putting a secure mask over his face.
Shocked by the entry, Booth points his gun towards the armed men pulling Bones behind him.
"What the fuck is happening?" He asks sternly to one of the armed men who in turn aimed his gun at him.
"DONT SHOOT" said a voice from outside the room, a man in a black suit comes into the door as the armed men make way for him.
"Agent Booth, sorry for the inconvenience, but this is a matter of national security. We need to reclaim this man back into our authority. This is a matter of the highest concern." Said the man
"Who is this guy." Asks Bones
"The most dangerous man in the world" replied the man in the black suit.
"You're late Mr. King. It took you and your men 4 days to find me." Said the homeless man, "youre getting slow"
Without a beat, one of the armed men slams him back on the table, and secures the mouth piece even tighter.
"Sorry about that Agent Booth, but this man will be coming back with us." Said the now identified Mr. King
"You can't do that, he's a suspect in a serial murder investigation." States Booth.
"We can, and we will. This is out of your hands Agent."
"Can you at least tell me who this man is and why he's being taken from my custody, I am cleared level 3 agent, I have the right to know."
" …you can know but not her."replies mr king.
…..
After a few minutes, in Agent Booths office, both Booth and Mr King as sitting face to face.
"So, who is he?" Asks Booth
"As I said before, the most dangerous man in the world." Replied Mr. King
"How?"
"Whatever is said in this room cannot leave this room, otherwise you may disappear forever. To be honest, not even I know much about him. He is the most intelligent man to ever live. With an IQ of 275, he can dismantle a government within 2 hours, in the comfort of his own home. He is banned from 2 continents and 21 countries. He has criminal contacts, but he's not a criminal. He has sat with warlords, and terrorist groups, just to feel a sort of danger. Nothing amuses him, as he's seen everything, he's scared of nothing because he knows everything. If left to wonder he could one day decide to exterminate every living creature on earth, just because he feels like it." States Mr. King, with a straight expression.
Silence permeates the room as Booth digests the information.
"A man such as that, wouldn't it be better to kill him?" Asks Agent Booth.
"He absolutely cannot be killed because we do not know what could occur due to his death, we have credible information that if he is killed, the United States could cease to exist. So we keep him locked up as much as we can, however he has escaped from every place we've kept him. He is dangerous not only due to his intelligence but also his charm and persuasion skills, if on the right side of justice he could be the one to end all wars in this world, but he cares not for worldly affairs."
"Charm? He looks like a hobo"
"That is only because he wants you to underestimate him. If cleaned up, one could say he's the most handsome man on earth. His body produces strong pheromones that attract woman to him like honey to bees. That's why there are no female agents ever allowed near him. We learnt that the hard way." As soon as he said that his phone rings.
"Go ahead, take the call."
King stands up to take the call;
"King… WHAT, ILL BE THERE RIGHT NOW"
"What's happening?" Asks Booth
"He escaped again. My agents heard him say, 'interesting' before he disappeared as they got into the elevator."
-scene change-
Back at the Jeffresonian, Bones is examine the bones of the Gormagon victim by herself, in an examination room. She is listening to her music as she hyperfocuses on the remains not realising, the most dangerous man in the world is in the same room as her watching he work.
As she puts down a femur, she looks up and sees a man staring right at her, someone who she recognises. The same man who had a group of armed men take him.
"You.. how are you here?" She asks, looking at the man.
"I wanted to see you." He replies, his voice sounding like silk wrapped around your body.
"Why?" She asks
"I'm a fan" he replies smiling, not that she can actually see his face with his hair covering his most of his face. Reaching behind him he takes out a book. Her novel.
"Your books are amazing, I really love the accuracy and factual forensic terminology you used in your books. Can you sign my copy"
"Sure" she approaches him, but as she approaches, she analysis his hands, and sees a huge amount of scars from the tips of his fingers to his wrist.
Grabbing his wrist, she asks "what happened?"
"Oh this? 'Tis but a flesh wound'" he replies, in a joking manner.
"But it's not a flesh wound, I've seen these injuries before, they are synonymous with those who have been tortured for long periods of time." She replies not getting the joke, looking completely serious.
"Well… I guess you'll have to keep that a secret, now can you sign my book please." He says changing the subject.
"ummm… sure, who should I make it out too?"
"Neal. Neal R. Maddox." He says once again showing a smile no one can see.
After talking some more, Neal asks
"Hey. Can I work here?"
"Uh, if you have the appropriate education and are studying at the Jeffersonian, then you most likely would be able to apply for a position at the institute."
After a couple of minutes of silence, Neal take his phone out and calls a number.
"Hey, King, I'll make a deal with you, give me something I want and I'll give you what we discussed during our session together. Find me at the Jeffersonian institute, and then we'll talk." Demanded Neal as he ended the call.
"It might get a bit hectic again, so be prepared."
.....
-scene change-
"We have a new employee, his name is Neal Maddox." Announces Cam as she introduces the new employee.
"Hi, I'm Neal, if you have any questions I'll let you ask it, you each get two questions."
The first one to step up was Hodgins
"Why are you wearing an ankle monitor?" He asks
"Well, I'll be watched by the CIA, FBI, Homeland security, Interpol, basically every agency under the US government. So they stuck an ankle monitor, a chip in my neck, and 5 teams of agent to surveil me at all times as a condition of my release to the Jeffersonian. Any other questions?"
Angel steps up.
"Why?"
"Well apparently I'm the 'most dangerous man alive'" he replies nonchalantly. "Anything else?"
"Why are you here?" Asks Hodgins
"Because I find Dr Brennan interesting." He replies with a smile.
Everyone is flabbergasted, not knowing what to say. They did not know if he was joking or not.
Next Zack steps up to ask
"Are you a qualified forensic anthropologist?"
"Yes, anthropology is quite easy."
"What's your IQ?" He asks
"275" Neal replies.
"I have no further questions."
"Then can I ask you a question?" Neal asks Zack
"Sure"
"Why are you working for a cannibal?"
To be continued.
