Chapter 24 - Category S

With sufficient warning given, Astra began playing the video.

In the mansion- turned crackhouse, the group watched as a half naked woman was servicing a blob of fat sitting on a chair that seemed to beg for mercy.

Well at least Megan, Alex and Rudy watched.

Timothy was busy admiring the floor and ceiling while Carol was staring hard at her son, waiting to catch even the slightest shift of his eyeball to the screen.

The angle of the video showed that it was taken by a phone, that too one of low quality, judging by the horrible camera quality.

They watched as the woman finished in record time before getting up, disgust written all over her face.

Frederick's uncle them insulted his brother, calling him a lazy man before ultimately asking for a million dollars from the 17 year old.

A quick change of pace presented itself when they saw Frederick bite his uncle, all of them rooting for him.

The gangsters kicked and beat the boy with sticks as his uncle let out a stream of cuss words as he clasped his fat neck in pain.

Right as it looked like they would kill the boy, the red and gold dust started falling from the sky.

*Pause*

"What happens next is what put him on the journey to the Category S being that he is today." Astra said after pausing the video to get everyone's attention.

"Hey, just to be clear we don't know what or who a Category S being is." Megan drew Astra and Rudy's attention to their confusion.

"Oh my bad. The ratings are based on the normal fantasy adventurer guild rankings, courtesy of the young master of course.

"Also why do you call him young master. It's weird. Can't you just call him Charles like everyone else since you're so important." Megan asked, Astra's earlier words still having a clear impact on her.

"Because I programmed her to. You know, so that I can feel like those kids in eastern fantasy books who have the backing of a stronger person." Rudy answered before Astra could, stopping another bout of arguments he could smell coming.

"With that out of the way. These are the rankings and what they represent."

*Category F - a person whose life or death wouldn't leave a significant impact on society, like Timothy.

*Category E - a person with enough influence to affect a small town or community, like Carol.

*Category D - a person with city wide influence, like you Megan.

*Category C - a person with state- wide influence.

*Category B - a person with nationwide/ countrywide influence, like most presidents.

*Category A - a person with multi continental influence, like most billionaires and presidents of first world countries.

And finally, *Category S - a person who can bring about the destruction of the planet."

"So far, the young master was the only one classified as a Category S being since he basically has control over the world and no missile or nuclear warhead can be launched without his acknowledgement."

"First of all Astra, ouch that hurt, deeply. And second, Charles what the heck. If you have control over all the deadliest weapons in the world why do you allow wars and massacres to happen. You have the keys to world peace in your hands but you don't use them. Why?" Timothy ranted on and on.

"It's quite simple Timothy. Look at all the prominent people in history who tried to play God. See where they ended up, in history books with a bad reputation attached to their names. I don't want to be that guy." Rudy said. "Second, I'm of the belief that adversity is essential in the evolution of the human race as a whole. Besides I'm too lazy to worry about countries fighting, I leave all that world saving shit to Astra. Hey Astra, how many times have you prevented a third world war or the destruction of Aurth."

"17 times young master. 3 of those in this year alone." Astra answered like the dutiful AI that she was.

"You see Timothy, we're barely at the end of September but see how many end of the world scenarios that have been averted this year. Relax, and don't worry your little mind about it, Astra's got it. Isn't that right Astra?"

"You're completely right young master. With me around you need not worry about the end of the world via human hands. So just sit back, relax and enjoy your lives."

"Mmm. Still, I just feel wrong knowing that you could have saved so many lives but chose to do nothing. They had families bro. Did you not think about that." Timothy asked, clearly disturbed by Rudy's backseat approach.

"I did, Tim. But I can't babysit everyone. And even if I did, they would find other ways to kill each other. That's just human nature. We're destructive by choice and I chose to be the necessary evil that just watched over everything. You'll understand when you're older." Rudy said, to which Timothy just sighed and muttered something under his breath.

"Okay. Now that we know who a Category S being is I'm going to continue with my presentation, if that's okay with you."

*Play*

The video resumed, with mutated mosquitoes bursting through the windows and the sliding door, raining both glass and terror on the startled gangsters and call girls lying about.

'Hmm. I see the earlier Time lock also affected technology, interesting.' Rudy made a personal analysis based on his memory of the beginning of the Apocalypse.

The group watched as the mutated mosquitoes rained hell one everyone, majority going for Frederick's uncle while none attacked Frederick himself, probably due to his skinny frame.

Bidding his time, Frederick waited for the click of empty magazines from the 5 gunmen before leaping into action.

With one eye glowing red, he grabbed a stick which was used on him earlier and returned the favour to one of his attackers, crippling him and letting the mosquitoes have their way with him.
