Chapter 7 - CHAPTER 07: Web of Intrigue

CHAPTER 07: Web of Intrigue

King's Landing was a city of a million whispers, and Adam, with his Beginner Observation Haki, was a master of them all. He was a ghost in the shadows, a spy in the courts, a player in the game of thrones. He knew the secrets of the city, he knew the lies, he knew the truths. He was a man with a cheat code, and he was using it to its full potential.

He spent his days in the city, his senses on high alert. He was a spy, an observer. He was a player in the game, but he was playing his own game. He wasn't on a mission for a King, he was on a mission for himself. A mission to save the good guy. A mission to save Ned.

He knew from his meta-knowledge that the Small Council was where all the lies and deceit were born. It was a place of snakes, a place of vipers, a place where the game of thrones was played in earnest. He had to be there. He had to listen. He had to feel the auras of the people there. He had to find the snake.

He found a vantage point, a hidden alcove overlooking the Small Council chambers. He was a ghost, a shadow, a man who didn't exist. He used his Observation Haki, a constant, low-level hum in the back of his mind. He felt the auras of the people in the room. He felt the cold, calculating aura of Pycelle, the boisterous, drunken aura of Robert's brother, the subtle, calculating aura of Varys. But the one that stood out, the one that made his skin crawl, was the aura of Petyr Baelish, Littlefinger.

Littlefinger's aura was a cold, subtle gray, a color of deceit, of lies, of manipulation. It was a snake, a viper, a creature of pure malice. He could feel the intent, the purpose behind every word, every gesture. He could feel the lies, the subtle twists of the truth, the manipulations that were a product of pure ambition. Littlefinger was a monster, a creature of pure evil, and Adam knew he was the one that would betray Ned. He was the one that would start the war. He was the one that would plunge the world into darkness.

Adam felt a surge of power, a rush of energy that made his head swim. He had reached a new milestone. His Observation Haki was getting better, more precise, more powerful. He was a master of observation. He was a god of information. He was a player in the game, and he was getting better.

He had to warn Ned. He had to tell him about Littlefinger. But how? How could he tell Ned about a man's aura? How could he tell Ned about a man's intent? Ned, the man of honor, would never believe him. He would think he was a lunatic. He had to be smart. He had to be subtle. He had to be Stiles.

He made his way back through the city, his mind racing. He needed a plan. A plan to warn Ned, a plan to expose Littlefinger, a plan to save the good guy. He was a man with a cheat code, and he was going to use it to its full potential.

He was in a crowded street, a river of people flowing around him, when he saw a Gold Cloak. He was a young man, probably new to the job, his face a mask of boredom and fatigue. He was a perfect target. A perfect victim. A perfect opportunity for a prank.

Adam, with a mischievous grin on his face, pulled out a small coin pouch he had looted from the bandits. He dropped it on the ground, a loud clinking sound that made the guard jump. The guard, his eyes wide with surprise, looked down at the pouch, then at Adam.

"Is this yours?" the guard said, his voice a low whisper.

"No," Adam said, a small smirk on his face. "I think it's a trap. I think it's a cursed pouch. I think it's full of dragon scales."

The guard, now in a state of terror and confusion, just stared at the pouch, then at Adam. "What? What are you talking about? Dragon scales? What do you mean?"

"I mean," Adam said, his voice a low, theatrical whisper. "I mean, it's a curse. A curse from the Targaryens. They say that if you touch the scales, you will be turned into a dragon, a creature of fire and blood. They say that you will be a monster, a creature of pure evil. They say that you will burn the city to the ground. They say that you will be a King."

The guard, now in a state of pure terror, just stared at the pouch, then at Adam. He took a step back, then another. He then turned and ran, a blur of gold and fear, his voice a high-pitched scream that filled the street.

Adam just smiled, a wide, triumphant grin on his face. He had done it. He had caused a minor bit of chaos, he had spread a rumor, and he had made a Gold Cloak run in terror. The game was on. The plot was happening, but he was a part of it now. He was a hero, a prankster, a chaos agent. He was a player, and the world was his game.
