Chapter 5 - Chapter 4 – The Council of the Endless

The Council Chamber of Endless floated in the Void between dimensions — a place where gravity was a polite suggestion and time bent to the will of its occupants.

Above, the sky was a whirlpool of dying stars, pulling inward toward a point that no mortal language could name.

Here, the Endless convened.

At the center, a black obsidian table shimmered with inscriptions older than reality.

Jason stood at its edge, hood drawn low, his eyes shadowed. Ethan, still scarred from the Nyarlathotep hunt, leaned on the table, Carnitrix core pulsing faintly in his chest.

One by one, the Endless took their seats:

Death in a gown of bleeding constellations.

Destiny, faceless, clutching his book that turned its pages without wind.

Dream, pale and crowned in stardust.

Destruction, a warlord whose armor dripped with molten runes.

Delirium, wide-eyed and dripping colors into the air.

Despair, a shadow in the shape of grief.

And at the far end… Jason, the newly anointed Thirty-Third Endless — the Warden of Finality.

They did not speak at first.

They listened to the hum of the universe's wound.

---

Destiny broke the silence.

"Nyarlathotep's avatar was but a pawn. The one who moves against us now is greater, older — something the Library itself refuses to name."

Ethan's knuckles tightened. "Then name it for me."

Dream leaned forward.

"The Court of the Outer Gate has stirred. Azathoth sleeps… but its dream is growing lucid."

Jason looked around the table. "If Azathoth wakes, it won't just be SCP breaches or cult uprisings. The Amalgam Ω-Verse will collapse into an XK-Class event we cannot reverse."

---

From the shadows stepped a figure in black armor etched with containment sigils — Dr. Gears, SCP Foundation liaison to the Endless.

His voice was a measured monotone.

"We've already contained fragments of this incursion. SCP-3125's conceptual vectors are… migrating.

We believe the Hanged King cult is using SCP-2317's breach to summon something from outside the multiverse."

Delirium giggled, her voice like static. "Oh, I know what's coming. It's all teeth and no mouth and it hums in seven keys at once…"

Death's gaze swept the room. "We require allies."

---

The Vote began.

Destiny favored aligning with the SCP Foundation.

Destruction proposed weaponizing captured Kaiju DNA.

Dream wanted to summon the Lords of Order and Chaos.

Despair wanted to seal all doors — even if it meant destroying populated universes.

Jason argued for direct strike teams: himself, Ethan, and selected SCP anomalies bound to Endless contracts.

When the votes settled, alliances were drawn:

SCP Foundation granted containment teams inside Endless territory.

Certain SCP anomalies — SCP-076-2 (Able), SCP-343, SCP-682 — were "contracted" as Endless weapons.

Godzilla and Mothra's Monsterverse kin were put under Destruction's control.

Dream summoned agents from Amalgam's mystic side — Doctor Fate, Strangefate, and Raven merged with Scarlet Witch.

---

But beneath the diplomatic theater, betrayal brewed.

Ethan's Carnitrix pulsed warnings: someone at the table carried a Nyarlathotep infection vector.

The readings whispered one name — but the Carnitrix refused to translate it in front of the others, as if the universe itself resisted.

Jason caught Ethan's glance. A silent agreement passed between them — they'd hunt the traitor quietly.

---

Suddenly, the Chamber walls bled black ichor. The obsidian table split as a Presence forced its way inside reality.

Not Nyarlathotep.

Not Cthulhu.

Something above them.

Dream's voice was a whisper of terror. "Shub-Niggurath… the Black Goat… has arrived."

The Endless rose in unison. Outside the Chamber, the Void screamed.

Kaiju roared in distant breach zones.

SCP alarms howled.

This was no longer politics.

This was war.

---

Next Chapter Hook: Ethan and Jason must lead the first SCP–Endless strike force through the Shub-Niggurath incursion zone while secretly testing Endless members for infection — and they only have seven hours before Azathoth's dream reaches full awareness.
