Chapter 1 - Ryan Mydent-The Primordial Foundation

Ohayou Sekai

Good morning world!

A hand smashed down into the poor alarm clock for the umpteenth time that week. Just beside was a sleek but simple metal bed painted pure white. On it lay the motionless figure of a teenage boy, easily looking like he was entering the late stages of puberty.

"You should stop smashing the alarm clock every time you wake up. It's very tiring on my end to replace each one."

The boy tossed his blankets aside to reveal the fact that he was in fact half naked. He rose to his feet stretched his back a little and smiled.

"Ya'know," he said, " Sometimes I forget you don't have a physical body"

"Ya, I find it quite ludicrous that my creator forgets, repeatedly, that he has an AI for a butler, a maid, and a nanny."

"The feeling is mutual"

He grabbed a shirt that was casually hanging on the headrest of his bed. He paused as he tossed it from one hand to the other. he looked out through the window of his room and was greeted by the wondrous sight of the Orion Nebula Cloud with its magnificent mix of colored gassy composition. It was ironic in a sense, the same gases that it was composed of would be nigh invisible in the atmosphere of Earth under ordinary conditions yet here in the vast reaches of interstellar space it was incredibly hard to miss.

This boy's name was Ryan Mydent and he wasn't really a boy. Despite his teenage boy looks, he is 177 years old (give or take a few years) and is considered one of the richest and smartest of his kind. Well 'kind' because he isn't a human to begin with but he kind of is at the same time. He is a Homo maius, a subspecies of the Homo sapiens sapiens. He didn't feel like going to work, not that he needed to anyway.

He tossed the shirt over his right shoulder before walking towards a mirror nearby. He stood straight, admiring his physique. His muscles were lean and bold and his abs probably stood out the most. His snow-white hair went down his back to his hips. Add in his sky-blue eyes and you get a certified lady-killer. He gave a small, nearly inaudible, sigh.

"Maybe Mom looked like this, just less muscle", he thought. According to his Grandfather, his mom and dad died shortly after his birth. He never said how they died though. However, he said that all their work was left in his inheritance, so that was a start. Now, he was to start his morning routine but to be on the safe side...

"Alfred," he asked, "what's on my to-do list?".

Yes, he called his A.I. Alfred why you may ask well.....just because. He wouldn't admit it in person but Alfred was the only being that felt the closest to a brother. Well, hell he didn't even know his parents that well since he only had his names and appearances in his memory and the one photo his grandfather has of them.

"Well," Started the omniscient AI, "There's nothing "

"Seriously!?" Asked a stupefied Ryan, "Did I seriously end my limitless list of things to do?". The shock in his voice was hard to miss.

"Seriously" came the monotone voice of the AI as it reverberated throughout the bedroom. Ryan brought his hand to his chin and stroked it slowly as he thought about what to do. To think he'd done the impossible. Well, he can now cross that off his mental bucket list.

' Complete my To-do list. Check

Maybe he could visit grandfather, and tell him the good news. He suppressed the urge to skip as he got out of his room. He hummed as he did so.

When he got to the Living room he spread his body over the five-sitter curved couch in the middle of the room back first and vacantly stared at the ceiling. "Huh," he said to himself," to think having nothing to do would be this boring.". He wasn't lying to himself. If he didn't find anything to do in the next 24 hours he would certainly die of boredom. With a sigh of frustration, he shot up. He couldn't stay still. He wasn't used to rest if he had not done any work prior. He groaned as he rubbed his temples and arched forward. He should probably visit his grandfather, Andreas Mydent. If he hadn't snuck off (again) he should probably be in his room at that retirement home he found. He stood up and went to the shower.

In twenty minutes he was ready to go out. He contemplated whether to use public transport, hail a taxi, or use his car. He made his decision and then left the house. As he reached the gate, he informed the guard of where he was going and the possible time he would be back.

"Do you mind telling the old bastard I said that he better take it easy or I will personally march into the establishment and gratefully tase him to unconsciousness?" he asked.

On normal occasions, insulting a relative of your employer would result in getting fired on the spot right? YES, it would but this was a special case because the guard himself was a family friend and as such had the very rare privilege of being informal with his employers which was understandably revoked whenever visitors were around the Mydent Mansion.

"Don't worry I will, Alex" replied Ryan with a slight smile gracing his face. With that, he headed to the nearest bus stop.

---------------------------------------

The ride was surprisingly comfy for most of the way. He was lucky enough to snag a seat next to the window because the man occupying the seat next to him was an obese man who reeked of sweat. he stared outside through the window and took note of moving buildings as he neared his destination.

If his sense of time was right (and it was) he was about thirty minutes till he got off. He could probably doze off for twenty minutes or so. He gave one last exhale as he slumped in his seat and closed his eyes. It didn't take long for him to dream.

*

The five boy looked at their leader with expectant gazes. The leader in question stroked his clean-shaven chin as he looked forward and gazed at the masses of monstrous soldiers ahead of them. the lineup was diverse as devils, angels, demons, nomu, shinobi, and ohtsutsuki. Four prominent figures lined up ahead of the gathered mass.

The leader in question looked back at his army. It was funny how months before they couldn't come close to seeing eye to eye. Now, they laid down their grudges and chose to stand side by side in a battle of epic proportions whose outcome would determine the fate of four worlds.

"Foundations!" Shouted the leader as his voice spread through the gathered ranks. This was it.

"Fall in!"

With a battle cry, the soldiers rushed forward as if spurred by an unseen force towards their adversaries. they were fighting for their freedom, their loved ones, and their homes.

*

With a start, Ryan woke up. He darted his head to his sides as he examined his surroundings. He was the only one on the bus. He was also drenched in his sweat. He groaned in displeasure and hoped the bus would get to the retirement home soon. Either by complete coincidence or divine intervention, the bus stopped seconds later outside a large black metallic gate with two guards in uniform standing outside with nightsticks strapped to their waists.

Without another word, Ryan got up and walked outside. He stood outside the gate as one of the guards went to meet him. Thankfully he was a regular so the guards recognized him almost immediately. He had a habit of leaving lasting impressions on people whenever he met them. He had to go through security clearances but that was done in a few minutes. Soon enough, he was allowed to see his grandfather.

The security was necessary since it was a term on the contract when the previous owner sold it. This retirement home was originally an abandonded warehouse. The security was in place to prevent the escape of any patient from escaping.

Ryan stood in front of an oak door. He knocked on it and a gruff voice sounded.

"Come in"

The door creaked open and Ryan walked in. He walked in and on the other side of the room was Andreas Mydent. He smiled slightly at the sight of his grandson and the only family he had left since his daughter's death. He had become a fine young man. His parents would be proud of what he had become having put his inheritance into good use. Right now they had a lot to catch up on.

Andreas was grateful his grandson decided to visit him despite not being informed. Still, he was grateful.

They talked till the sun started setting on the horizon. Noting this, Ryan decided to ask his grandfather a question that had been on his mind for a few days.

"Uh.....Grandpa,"

"Yes, Ryan?" Responded Allan, his gaze and tone silently urging Ryan to continue.

"How were my parents like?" finished his grandson.

Allan kept quiet as he stroked his beard, heavily lost in thought. He gave a long sigh and answered Ryan's question to the best of his ability and knowledge. It was a simple three-word sentence

"I don't know how to respond to that, but you're as stubborn as your mother and as kind as your father. "

Ryan smiled at the answer and stood up thanking his grandfather for his answer and bidding him farewell. Andreas had more to say but Ryan was already out the door. the senior citizen stared at the door before averting his gaze to the chair his descendant sat. The room suddenly got immersed in silence. he felt lonely again.

As he stared through the window, eyeing the back of his grandson, a blue beam of light flashed to the sky. He held his breath, a small smile forming in his face. He gave a long tired sigh as he leaned back on his chair.

And so it begins,

again

-----------------------------

Ryan opted to return to his home by taxi. He needed time to himself as he thought about the dream he had on the bus. It was strange, to say the least. He experienced it in the third person but felt emotions he couldn't describe. He felt proud in a sense when his eyes landed on five people behind who were staring at the man ahead of them whom he assumed was their leader. Odd enough, he felt a sense of familiarity with the man, as if he knew him closely and to a personal extent.

He reached his home about an hour after he left the retirement home. After paying the driver he walked back to the house he grew up in. As he waited for the gate to slide open, he looked at the mansion he had known as his home for as long as he could remember. Its beauty still made him feel as if it was new when, according to his grandfather, it had housed nearly ten generations of the Mydent family. The gate fully opened and he walked forward to the door but stopped when he entered the smart house. Something felt off. He didn't know what, it just did.

"Alfred?"

"..."

Now he KNEW something was off. The AI always responded as quickly as he was called (Yes AI are not actual people but Alfred preferred being referred to with the He/Him aspect). Cautiously he proceeded forward, despite his instincts shouting at him to get out and call the cops. As he slowly walked he felt his foot touch something. He stopped immediately and slowly backed up towards the door. it was closed but he wasn't heading out. As soon as he felt his back touch it, he scooched to his left towards the light switch. Flicking it on, he was shocked beyond words.

Five boys lay sprawled over the floor.

The first one was relatively short and wore casual clothes. he had a black headband on his head just above his forehead but covering some of his ash-blonde hair. His shirt was stained in blood but he was breathing. Dropped on his shoulders was a black robe with a golden trim sown over the hemline. On it was a symbol that resembled a cracked bull skull

The second one had messy green hair and four freckles on both of his cheeks in a diamond pattern. He also had casual clothes consisting of a grey shirt with Katakana written on it and a pair of black shorts. His shirt had a large blood stain on his abdomen.

the third boy had a peaceful air around him. He had dark maroon spiky hair that faded to a bright shade of red at the tips. he also had a black uniform of sorts except for his belt which was pure white

the fourth boy was undoubtedly the youngest of the four strangers. He most probably was a preteen. He wore a bright orange jumpsuit that had a blue scheme on its shoulder regions. he wore a headband that had a metal plate where the forehead would be. His blonde hair was spiky and adorning each of his cheeks were three whisker-like marks.

The fifth boy had black hair. He wore a cream jacket with a shirt underneath. He had light trousers accompanied by brown leather boots that reached his knees. The boots appeared to be attached to straps around the rest of his legs.

In summary, confusion was at an all time high.

"Who the hell are these people and why do they look familiar?"

Barely seconds passed as the five boys' bodies shifted and they started waking up.
