Chapter 37 - Chapter 36: The Dark Lord Dormammu

Kaecilius, suffering a major blow and falling into paranoia and the fear of death, had embarked on a path of pursuing power simply for a longer life. He feared death, yet on this path, he was unafraid of it. He was a simple yet complex man.

Such a person, once given what he wants, will completely devote everything he has, just as he said—his soul, his loyalty, and so on. He would become the sharpest knife, doing anything without reservation.

Leon's eyes were full of azure light. He stretched out a finger and gently tapped Kaecilius's forehead, whispering, "This can prompt you to make such a decision. The darkness has found you, right, Kaecilius."

Weng. A golden light blossomed at his fingertips, and an unparalleled sacred power poured into Kaecilius's body. Instantly, a deep red vertical mark appeared on Kaecilius's forehead, dark and evil. This mark was filled with a disgusting dark power that collided with Leon's power.

With the two of them as the center, a surging wave of air swept in all directions, kicking up dust and smoke. In the Mirror Dimension, the space where Leon's house was had been turned to dust by this collision.

"What is this power? When did someone like you appear on Earth?"

The collision of a terrifying force almost made Kaecilius faint from the pain. In a daze, he heard a deep, thick voice, as if the horror of an ancient Mephista had caused a monstrous anger.

Kaecilius was shocked. He thought of the magic book depicting darkness that he had secretly seen in the Ancient One's forbidden collection. It was because of this that he had discovered the hypocritical side of the Sorcerer Supreme, the Ancient One.

Could it be that when he had opened the book and seen the magic words and patterns, this terrifying being had already noticed him? An inexplicable fear swept through his heart, and Kaecilius became uneasy. He endured the pain of his brain splitting and looked up at the majestic and sacred man in front of him.

Leon seemed to see the evil dark will stored in Kaecilius's soul. "Dark Lord Dormammu, we will have a chance to meet again, but I'm sorry, get out now."

Boom! The vast cosmos, like a volcanic eruption, poured its supreme, sacred will into Kaecilius's soul. The boundless golden energy spread everywhere, annihilating the hidden dark will that belonged to Dormammu.

"Darkness will watch you, little ghost. You will use your soul and life as the price of angering me."

"I'm waiting for you, Dormammu."

Dormammu's boundless roar resounded, causing Kaecilius's soul to shake wildly, creating even greater pain. But Kaecilius's face was pale, and he remained silent, silently resisting this terrible tearing pain. This made Leon, who had been paying attention, raise his eyebrows slightly. No matter how angry Dormammu was, it was just a will that was sent down using the magic book as a medium. It couldn't compete with Leon's current power at all, and the only outcome was dissipation.

Leon forcibly annihilated Dormammu's dark will in the depths of Kaecilius's soul.

In the tearing pain, Kaecilius was soaked in sweat, his face bloodless and extremely pale, and he was breathing heavily, but he felt an inexplicable sense of relief.

"Choose to let your destiny go down a different path, Kaecilius the magician."

In Leon's view, Kaecilius was lucky. Dormammu's will had invaded his soul. No matter whether Kaecilius was active or passive, even if his will was strong, it would be gradually eroded, and he would sink and degenerate. If it weren't for Leon, Kaecilius would have taken the initiative to give up his will and throw himself into the darkness because Dormammu had given him the power to embrace darkness and eternal life, which he could not refuse.

However, for Dormammu, the king of the Dark Dimension, Kaecilius was nothing more than a servant, an ant in his eyes. Darkness would devour everything. Eternal life? Was Kaecilius worthy of it? He was just a pawn. Kaecilius's fate was sealed the moment he embraced the darkness.

This time, he made a completely opposite choice. Fortunately, he found Leon before his soul was completely eroded by darkness.

Leon stretched out his palm and pointed it at Kaecilius. The latter suddenly floated up, and a blue light poured into his body. At that moment, Kaecilius felt as if he was soaking in a hot spring, warm and relaxed. The various scars from the battle and the soul damage from the collision of power just now were gradually healed by this cosmic energy.

Kaecilius felt unprecedented joy. After he was cured, he fell back to the ground, knelt on one knee, his face full of admiration.

"Go to Sokovia and find Ophelia. She will tell you what to do."

"Yes." There were no more promises, but Kaecilius chose to execute without hesitation. As a Mars portal appeared behind him, he turned and left, disappearing.

Leon stood in the Mirror Dimension, turning his head to the left, where the Ancient One was standing. The Ancient One looked at Leon, nodded, and her figure gradually faded and disappeared.

"Happy?" Leon caught the emotional fluctuations of the Sorcerer Supreme and couldn't help laughing. He thought that because fate couldn't be changed, she had become numb. But now, seeing with her own eyes that a disciple who was originally on a path of no return was now on a brighter one, would she be happy?

He shook his head, the world suddenly shattered, and his figure disappeared.
