Chapter 72 - Chapter 71: Scorpio Gold Saint

"If he is the Great Serpent, why didn't he kill us? He hates Father more than anyone else. He was sealed for countless years. I believe the flames of vengeance can make a person lose their mind, not to mention a cruel being like the Great Serpent."

Thor shook his head, disagreeing with the idea. Although he could be a bit simple-minded, he had a unique way of looking at things that even Loki couldn't match at times. Thor also had a gut feeling that the man couldn't possibly be the Great Serpent. His majestic, elegant, and noble demeanor was completely different from the tyrannical being of legend.

Loki felt helpless; he couldn't convince Thor.

Heimdall approached them, his expression serious. "What happened to you both on Midgard?"

Thor and Loki looked at Heimdall with confused expressions. "Didn't you see it?"

Heimdall is the Asgardian gatekeeper god, the one who can see and hear everything. Midgard is part of the territory ruled by Asgard, so it seemed obvious he should have seen what happened.

Heimdall shook his head. "After I sent you near that location using the Bifrost, I only felt an unusual burst of energy, which was very brief. After that, I couldn't see you." He continued, "There must have been some kind of power blocking my sight."

"That makes sense," Thor and Loki said, exchanging a glance. After their initial surprise, they quickly calmed down, realizing that for a god-king of the same caliber as Odin, such an ability would be nothing special.

Thor and Loki then briefly explained their experience to Heimdall. Upon hearing their story, Heimdall's stoic expression changed. With a frown, he murmured, "How could a god of that level be born on Midgard?"

Heimdall found this extremely strange, almost unbelievable. Odin was a god-king, a "Father God" whose power was immense. It took countless thoughts, battles, and the inherent advantages of the Odin family, along with the accumulation of a vast amount of time, to reach that level.

But Midgard? Midgard had always been a subordinate realm of Asgard. It was considered a backward and primitive place, and Asgard was completely unaware of the birth of such a powerful god there. The very existence of a god of that level on a small world like Midgard was theoretically impossible, let alone one on par with the Father God.

Thinking of this, Heimdall warned Thor, "Thor, Loki is right. The timing of this god's appearance is very strange. Loki's guess might be correct." He continued, "Whether the other party is the Great Serpent or not, we can't dismiss the possibility."

From Heimdall's perspective, the Great Serpent was a threat to all Nine Realms, and they had to be cautious and consider every possibility.

Thor pondered for a moment before nodding. "I understand. Let's go, Loki. We must find Mother. We need to confirm if the Great Serpent is sealed on Midgard."

"Yes." Loki agreed, nodding to Heimdall before walking with Thor toward Asgard.

Heimdall watched the two brothers leave, his brow still furrowed. He then walked to the central console and looked at Midgard from a distance, observing it closely. In his eyes, Midgard was unnaturally calm, a quietness that made him feel even more uneasy.

"What are you planning, God-King?"

The Sanctuary

It was a normal training day. Instructors like Salina and Lisa weren't directly supervising the children, but rather assisting other teachers. After a certain period of adjustment, the trainees had quickly gotten the hang of the normal routine and were making rapid progress.

Aside from providing necessary instructions, the instructors focused on cultivating their own cosmos. Leon had forcefully elevated them to the level of the Sixth Sense, but their journey wasn't over. They still needed to catch up on the understanding and experience that a warrior who earned the Sixth Sense through their own training would naturally have.

On top of a cliff on a small satellite island ten kilometers from the main island, Salina sat cross-legged, her thumbs and index fingers touching, her eyes closed. Her long black hair danced in the sea breeze. As her cosmos grew silently, she was also contemplating the stars.

According to the knowledge given to her by God, every warrior might resonate with a certain constellation when awakening their cosmos. Awakening the cosmos didn't automatically mean having a guardian constellation, but when a warrior resonated with one, they would be granted a Holy Cloth forged by God.

With a Holy Cloth, a warrior would possess a special power beyond that of a Guard and be known as a Saint. The Saints were the personal guards of God.

Regardless of their background, everyone's goal was to become a Saint. The children felt this, and so did the instructors. When God had Ophelia share this information with them, everyone's obsession became not only to awaken their cosmos but also to be recognized by a Holy Cloth.

Time passed. The sea, at first calm, grew turbulent. Day turned to dusk, and dusk turned to dawn. Three days had passed. Salina remained on the cliff like a lifeless stone statue. Passing seabirds occasionally landed beside her, some even standing on her shoulders, their fatigue temporarily forgotten.

The next night, the moonlight shone brightly in the sky.

Suddenly, a few stars among the constellations began to flicker, brightening and forming the pattern of a lifelike scorpion. The brilliant stars and the sacred Scorpio seemed to resonate with each other.

Boom~

A wonderful, sacred sound echoed throughout the world.

At that moment, all the female instructors—Lisa, Ophelia, Melina, and the others—who were training on the nearby islands and throughout the world felt it. Even the children at the main base walked out of their classrooms and looked up at the star-filled sky. No one spoke; they were all solemnly witnessing a miracle about to be born.

The sea surged, and countless sea creatures broke through the surface, active and excited. Animals on the islands, including birds, instinctively bowed on the ground, welcoming the arrival of something sacred.

The constellation of Scorpio grew incredibly bright, and a dazzling golden light descended. A golden beam of light, connecting the heavens and the earth, enveloped the sitting Salina. Her body slowly floated upward until she was in the sky. As she was baptized by the golden light, golden particles from the bright stars happily spun around her.

Salina opened her eyes. Looking up, she heard the gentle voice of God echoing in her ears: "Go, greet your companions, Salina."

Salina understood. She extended her hands, and in the next moment, under the witness of the stars, pieces of sacred armor made of golden shells emerged on her body. The two wings of the golden helmet attached to her forehead and extended to her sides. A dozen golden spheres formed a unique scorpion-like stinger whip. The gorgeous and arrogant shoulder guards, the golden armor on her chest forming a scorpion shell pattern with a red gem in the middle, along with her skirt, arm guards, leg guards, and golden boots, perfectly matched her proud figure. A white cloak with a blue inner lining completed the look, making her appear beautiful, mysterious, sacred, and noble.

Standing high in the sky, witnessed by the stars, the Scorpio Gold Cloth had found its owner, Salina.

Wearing the Gold Cloth, Salina felt a sense of joy and happiness emanating from the armor, and a soft smile formed on her lips. As if she had a sudden enlightenment, she looked up at the distant sky and, in a trance, saw a majestic and sacred figure gazing gently at her. She knelt on one knee, her right hand on her chest, her face filled with longing and passion. A gentle breeze blew, causing her to stand up unconsciously.

The mighty and sacred voice resounded in the ears of people all over the world.

"Salina, representing Scorpio, one of the Twelve Gold Saints. She will guard the Twelve Zodiac Signs and stand at the top of the Sanctuary with the highest Gold rank."

At the Arctic ice base, where the wind and snow raged, Wanda and all the children and instructors who were resting and studying in the dormitories instantly knelt on one knee. This was a show of respect for the Supreme Gold rank, the highest order that could not be violated. This was not only their response; people in all the bases in Madripoor, Sokovia, and all over the world reacted the same way. Perhaps one day, they too could become Gold Saints and enjoy the same glory and splendor, while also bearing a responsibility that many could not handle. This was the destiny of a Gold Saint.

"My brave warrior, strengthen your faith, fight against all enemies, let your poison needles make your enemies tremble, and under the witness of the stars, embark on a great and difficult path."

Salina felt something inexplicable. Her eyes reflected the figures kneeling on the ground, and a gentle and encouraging message passed through her mind. Tears welled up in Salina's beautiful eyes as she spoke a soft chant in her heart that only she knew. The moonlight gently fell on the woman who hid her passion under a cold exterior, enveloping her in a hazy veil that made her appear beautiful and mysterious as a Gold Saint.

The world would not know that at this moment, the bell of destiny was ringing. Under the stars, the legion that would make the multi-universe tremble with fear and respect was beginning its journey. Countless people looked up at the sky, whether it was day or night, and no matter what race or country they were from, they saw the elegant figure standing in the sky, wearing the sacred and noble golden Holy Cloth.

Under the sacred voice, everyone understood that she was Salina, the Scorpio Gold Saint. The Guards who belonged solely to God were also the Saint Kings who bore the responsibility of protection. Whether their purpose was to protect the Earth was a separate matter.

"Saint, is this a Saint? So beautiful."

"This is the power and authority granted by God. The zodiac is named after Scorpio."

"It's so beautiful. I also want to be a Saint, but unfortunately I don't have the qualifications."

"That's for sure. Only the warriors chosen by God can become a Saint King after countless cruel trials and gaining the recognition of the leader."

"Damn it, there really are gods in this world. It's incredible. Can I change my beliefs now?"

"I want to go to Madripoor. But what is this god's title?"

Whether they believed in Leon or not, everyone was excitedly discussing what they had seen. In the past, they didn't know what a Saint or a Gold Saint was, but now, the information that appeared in their minds made them understand.

This was Leon's announcement to the world. These Saints would devote their lives, souls, and loyalty. In return, he would give them glory and splendor. These warriors would follow him, and their names would be engraved in the hearts of everyone in the multi-universe. He would let these warriors enjoy this glory.

Kamar-Taj

In the classic, retro building, the Ancient One walked out of the door in her white robe, a book in her hand. She looked up at the starry sky, as if she could see the peerless warrior from an infinite distance. "Your Excellency, what was that just now?"

At this time, all the magicians in Kamar-Taj came out and looked up at the sky. They had all heard the sacred sound and seen the golden warrior standing under the stars. "We witnessed the birth of a warrior who represents miracles."

"Miracle warriors?" The Asian magician was puzzled but then realized it made sense. That strange scene could even penetrate the powerful magical barrier that protected Kamar-Taj.

The magicians in Kamar-Taj were pointing and talking, full of curiosity and excitement. The young male and female magicians were especially affected. The men were captivated by the sacred and graceful demeanor of the Saint—an indescribable, unforgettable beauty. As for the female magicians, they were filled with envy and longing. They, too, hoped to be able to display such beauty and have the world witness it, just like the woman named Salina—romantic and beautiful.
