Chapter 106 - Chapter 105: Born to be a Rebel

A cool and capable female agent with short black hair lowered her binoculars and looked at Phil Coulson. "According to our intelligence, they should have nearly a thousand armed soldiers under their command. But what are they doing now? Are they going to surrender?"

"Who knows?" Phil Coulson also lowered his binoculars. "Compared to those soldiers, these high-ranking officials... Heh!"

The female agent, Maria Hill, recalled the recent HYDRA purges. The soldiers were so fanatical they almost never surrendered. In contrast, some of the HYDRA leaders surrendered without hesitation, which had impressed her and made her smile with contempt.

"You know those soldiers have been brainwashed. Those so-called HYDRA leaders are just a group of ambitious people. They have no faith, only a desire for power, status, and wealth. When faced with a desperate situation, they'll also be afraid of death." Phil Coulson shook his head and turned to look at Hill. "Hill, order the front-line troops to hold their position. Let's go see what those guys want to do."

"Yes, sir."

The front-line troops who received the order stopped a kilometer away but did not lower their vigilance. Phil Coulson and Hill, the two highest-ranking officers of this mission, drove a snowmobile, protected by a team of agents, and stopped in front of the front-line troops. They did not blindly approach the Red Skull base.

Seeing this, Zemo, Cynthia, Susan, and the others knew that the other party would neither approach nor attack, but that they had to go in person to "negotiate" their surrender. Zemo was a little surprised by this cautious attitude. Even with an absolute advantage, the other side was still so stable, and their highest commander had a very balanced mindset. "We don't have much time," Cynthia said, looking expressionlessly at the communicator in Zemo's hand.

Zemo hesitated a little, but just as he was thinking, the special satellite communicator in his hand rang. Beep! Beep! Beep! Everyone was relieved. Zemo quickly picked up the communicator and put it to his ear to connect. An elegant female voice came from the other end.

"Zemo?"

A short name. The voice was like nectar sprinkled on petals, soft and charming, making people unable to resist its charm. Baron Zemo heard who the owner of this voice was, and his tone became humble and respectful. "Madam Viper."

"Few people call me by that name anymore, and I still miss it when I think about it now," the Viper, Ophelia, on the other end chuckled as if sighing, and then paused. She continued, "Your situation seems to be very bad right now, Zemo."

"We are willing to submit to you and offer everything we have," Zemo said hurriedly. He was very smart and didn't mention Leon, who was behind Ophelia. They were not qualified at all. They were lucky enough just to be able to work under Ophelia.

"Everything?" Ophelia asked lazily. "Everything you have has no attractive value to me."

"Assets worth hundreds of billions of dollars, industrial pillars, the sovereignty of three countries, a huge team of talents, and potential connections." Zemo calmly laid out his cards, showing all their value.

Ophelia pondered for a moment, then whispered, "What do you want?"

"I am willing to serve your will."

"Zemo, you are much smarter than those guys, and you want more." Ophelia laughed wryly. Zemo seemed humble, and he was unreserved like a servant, but this actually meant that he wanted to gain more. But she did not refuse. For her, a sum of hundreds of billions of dollars in assets was nothing for the development of Madripoor, but she valued the pillars of industry, the sovereignty of the three countries, and the talent team. Before meeting Leon, she had always valued talent. Although she had already stepped onto a higher level, she still had a high regard for talented scientists. As for Zemo and the others, no matter what ambitions they had, she didn't care; they were just a few ordinary people.

"What are they doing?" At the moment, Hill, who was waiting in the wind and snow in front of the team a kilometer away, frowned and put down her binoculars.

"Something seems wrong, Hill. Get everyone ready." Phil Coulson looked a little serious, and a little uneasy in his heart. Although he couldn't imagine what the other party could do in the current situation, he said to Agent Hill, "Ready."

Just when Hill was about to pick up the communicator to give an order, her eyes suddenly widened. She looked forward and shouted, "Phil Coulson, look!" Phil Coulson subconsciously looked up, and his pupils suddenly shrank. Not only him, but everyone behind him was stunned. He saw dark clouds gathering above the sky a kilometer away, and a rolling golden light column fell down, pointing directly at the entire Red Skull base, including Zemo and the others. The dazzling light and energy were blown away by the wind and snow. In the shocked eyes of everyone, in just a moment, the golden light column disappeared, but Zemo and the others who were originally outside the base had already disappeared.

"Damn it, Hill, doctor," Phil Coulson reacted quickly, cursed inwardly, and yelled. He ran back to get on one of the snowmobiles. Hill followed closely and sat in the rear driver's seat. In an instant, tens of thousands of armed forces rushed towards the base at Coulson's command.

Half an hour later, Phil Coulson and Hill stood inside the Red Skull base. The rest of the soldiers and agents were searching inside the base. Phil Coulson reluctantly took out the communicator and dialed, and soon the call was connected. A low voice came from the other end. "Phil Coulson?"

"Sir, they disappeared." Phil Coulson reported the situation directly without any nonsense. The other end was silent for a moment, seemed to be stunned for a moment, and then said, "Disappeared?"

"Yes, it's what you understand as disappearing." Phil Coulson reported the action in detail, especially the sudden appearance of the golden light column and the disappearance of the base, including Zemo and everyone else. With Hill's confirmation on the side, Nick Fury on the other end couldn't help but pinch his eyebrows.

"Someone took them away."

"Yes, I saw that before these people disappeared, Baron Zemo seemed to be talking to someone with a communicator." After Phil Coulson finished speaking, he hesitated for a moment and guessed, "Sir, do you think it is possible that..." Before he finished speaking, Nick Fury on the other end of the communicator and Hill beside him immediately had a name flash in their minds: Madripoor.

Viper Ophelia's former HYDRA identity was not difficult to collect. After all, at the Triskelion, the Viper took Alexander Pierce away in front of Nick Fury. Later, S.H.I.E.L.D. purged and arrested the HYDRA leaders of the Alexander faction, and from them, they also learned the information of the leaders of various factions of HYDRA. Viper was naturally included. In addition to Zemo, more than a thousand HYDRA soldiers disappeared out of thin air, and the golden light column that fell from the sky was not a means that humans could have, not even Mutants. The only person who had this ability was naturally Viper Ophelia. After all, she was the only person Zemo could contact and who had this ability now.

"Sir, what's our next move?" Phil Coulson saw that Fury had not said anything for a long time, so he took the initiative to ask. But he already knew what Fury's answer would be. Sure enough, Fury said briefly on the communicator, "Abandon this mission." Then the communication was hung up.

"It's not a good feeling to run for nothing," Phil Coulson twisted his neck and complained.

"Or you can go to Madripoor to ask for them back," Agent Hill said coldly. Phil Coulson spread his hands with an expression of "you're teasing me." "Hey, do you want me to die? Hill, I am your boss."

"Sir, you are just one level higher than me."

"Okay, I like your confidence. Let's retreat." Phil Coulson was not angry. He said jokingly and turned away.

Madripoor, Seaview Villa.

Zemo, Cynthia, Rumlow, and Susan, led by a beautiful housekeeper, walked along a cobblestone path towards the garden. The four of them had changed out of their down jackets and were only wearing coats and sweaters. Led by the housekeeper, they came to the garden on the left side of the villa. Surprisingly, the flowers planted in the garden did not wither in the winter. On the contrary, it seemed that the inexplicable vitality made these various colorful flowers even more beautiful. Being in such a flower garden, their moods became much better.

Walking along the winding path all the way to the garden, past a fountain, and coming to a viewing platform built with wooden boards. The viewing platform was very large; whether on the steps or on the platform itself, there were flowers and tree vines growing, as if you were in a primeval jungle. The surrounding view was wide. From the viewing platform, in addition to being able to see the flowers, you could also see the sea looming in the gaps between the trees at the end.

When they came to the viewing platform, they saw a woman wearing a light blue coat and a light yellow long skirt, full of intellectual elegance, sitting on a chair. There were several beautiful maids standing beside her. The woman on the chair was looking at documents while taking a sip from the steaming coffee cup on the small table beside her. This was Ophelia.

The arrival of the four people did not make her look up. She kept looking at the documents, writing something with a pen from time to time. After Zemo and the others looked at each other, they were very smart not to speak. They just stood there waiting. They didn't wait for long. Ophelia finished processing the documents and closed them happily. She didn't make any movements, and the documents disappeared with a flash of light. She then looked up at Zemo and the other four. She picked up the coffee beside her, took a sip elegantly, and her beautiful voice was transmitted to the ears of the four people. "Sit down."

As she spoke, the butler waved gently. They saw golden ripples in front of the four people, and four chairs suddenly appeared, which made Zemo and the others' pupils shrink. This young-looking housekeeper actually had such power? Suppressing the shock in their hearts, the four people sat down humbly and respectfully. "Thank you, Lord Viper, for the seat."

Cynthia's heart was not only shocked but also a little hot. If a housekeeper can have such an ability, then she... But before she finished thinking, Ophelia's teasing voice sounded in her ears. "As expected of the daughter of Red Skull, she is always full of desire for strength and power."

These words exploded in the hearts of the four people like thunder. Cynthia was even more shocked, her eyes wide. Zemo, Rumlow, and Susan looked at Cynthia in disbelief. The latter didn't say anything, but Zemo and Rumlow gave her a look that said, "You're looking for death." The two of them had never thought that in this situation, facing Ophelia, Cynthia, this damn b****, would actually do something weird. Do you understand what's going on now? What's wrong with your brain? Are you born to be a rebel? You've just been received by someone, and you're already thinking about how to gain this kind of power. Did you drink too much before you came? Don't mess with us; we really want to surrender.

Cynthia didn't expect that her thoughts would be captured by Ophelia in an instant. She suddenly felt an inexplicable fear in her heart, especially when she looked directly into those beautiful eyes, which were very charming. But when she looked at them, she felt as small as an ant. She couldn't even muster the courage to resist. Ambition? Desire? What were those? At the moment, her brain was like paste because of excessive fear, and her thoughts were a mess.

"Lord Viper..." Zemo was also terrified, but he still gritted his teeth and wanted to speak, not to excuse Cynthia, but just because he didn't want Viper to be angry with him. Before he finished speaking, he was interrupted by Ophelia. She held the coffee cup in her left hand and a porcelain spoon in her right, tapping the cup to make a crisp sound. After interrupting Zemo's next words, she looked at Cynthia, who was pale with fear, with a smile on her lips, and whispered, "I don't blame you for your desire for power. I don't care about your ambition. Ambitious people can often show greater motivation. That's what I'm like."

Just like Leon. Ophelia was originally ambitious. Did Leon know? Of course, he knew, but he didn't care because he believed that no matter how ambitious Ophelia was, she would never be out of Leon's control.
