Chapter 117 - Thanos, the Mad Cosmic Warlord, Eradicates Half of All Life in the Universe!

BAM!

Rhodey was hit by the heavy blow and was sent flying like a cannonball, embedding himself in the ground. The sharp glaive had also opened up a gash in his chest. He gritted his teeth and tried to get up, but the impact had made him feel like every bone in his body was shattered.

Corvus Glaive didn't stop after the hit; his glaive spun in his hand. He then descended from the sky, with all his might, bringing his battle glaive down on the prone Rhodey. The extreme speed made the air seem like a barrier, flowing rapidly along the streamlines of his body.

"Crap, this monster is just…" Rhodey knew he had no way to dodge this blow. But before he died, he gritted his teeth and fired the rockets from his shoulders. If he was going to die, he'd take this damned monster with him. As Corvus Glaive got closer, his eyes became more determined.

CLANG!

In the nick of time, a shield flew out from the side. The shield hit Corvus Glaive's side ribs, sending him flying.

"Rhodey, are you okay?!" Steve quickly came to Rhodey's side and crouched down.

"I'm not dead yet!" Rhodey said, gritting his teeth as he lay on the ground. But in the next moment, he knew he couldn't stand up and fight again.

"That's good. Leave the rest to me!" Steve picked up his shield, held it up, and looked at Corvus Glaive. "I can do this all day!"

Hawkeye and the others had Proxima Midnight tied up, and his target was Corvus Glaive.

"Foolish Earthling, this kind of power can never stand against us." Corvus Glaive got up from the ground. He had to admit that the hit had fractured his ribs. But the injury had no effect on him; it only made his fighting spirit rise. The glaive in his hand glowed faintly, and he charged toward Steve.

Steve didn't back down, and the two collided at an incredible speed.

BZZT!

Steve's muscles bulged, and the veins on his arms popped out and pulsed on the surface of his skin. The heavy impact made him feel like a charging rhino had been stopped in its tracks.

Corvus Glaive swung his glaive horizontally. The air sliced open with a whooshing sound. But Steve didn't dodge. He simply put his shield up to block it. He was sent flying several meters by the powerful blow.

"So much strength! How is he doing this?!" Steve's expression was grim, and he cursed to himself. Even though he had blocked it with his shield, the blow had made his arm feel numb. Before he could even react, Corvus Glaive was in front of him.

Faced with the rapid blows, Steve couldn't even fight back. Corvus Glaive wasn't just powerful; he was also incredibly fast. He had no weak spots, and every blow from him forced Steve to retreat.

To make matters worse, Steve knew he was not a match for this monster. All he could do was stall!

Yes. He had to stall for time and wait for his teammates to finish their fights and come help him.

"Foolish! Do you think you can win by just defending?! I'd like to see who lasts longer!" Corvus Glaive said, swinging his glaive and mocking him in a cold tone. His glaive was specially made, and every blow would release a powerful force. With the energy infused into it, even if he didn't hit Steve, Steve would have a hard time taking the blows.

Steve was sent flying backward by a blow. But Steve also noticed that Corvus Glaive's condition wasn't great. From the explosion earlier, he could tell that Corvus Glaive's strength was starting to wane. But even so, they were still at a disadvantage.

The Outriders seemed to be endless, and now Rhodey was out of the fight. They had a man down, and it was getting harder and harder to hold on.

"You're almost out of energy too..." Steve gritted his teeth, rolled over, and lunged at Corvus Glaive. His muscles bulged and looked a little bigger.

No matter what, he couldn't give up. He had to help relieve the pressure on his teammates. If he failed, his teammates wouldn't be able to withstand the onslaught. But the others weren't doing much better.

Wong cast the Swords of Vishanti and quickly sliced at the Outriders. Blood soaked his clothes, and he was already breathing heavily.

"Come on! You damned monsters!" Wong sliced one of the monsters in half. He rushed forward, fighting among the Outriders. Even when an Outrider scratched him, he only winced slightly.

As for Proxima Midnight, she was tied up by Natasha and Hawkeye. They didn't get close to her, opting to hide behind cover and use their guns and arrows to attack her from a distance.

But Proxima Midnight was too fast. Even with their constant attacks, they couldn't land a single hit on her.

Sam, meanwhile, was circling in the air, shooting down any monster that got close to Rhodey. The battle was a stalemate, with everyone locked in a difficult fight.

CRACK!

Just then, a golden beam of light shot down from the sky and swept toward Corvus Glaive. Steve quickly crouched down and rolled to the side. The beam struck Corvus Glaive directly, sending him flying.

"The Mind Stone!" Corvus Glaive got up from the ground and looked at where the golden light came from. When he saw the Mind Stone on Vision's forehead, his expression became excited and menacing. He was impatient to take the Mind Stone and offer it to the great Thanos.

Vision looked down at Corvus Glaive. "I can feel your desire for the stone, and I know your plan. You plan to sacrifice half of all life in the universe for a so-called future. What an incredibly foolish wish!" Vision's voice was cold.

The reason these people were so obsessed with collecting the Infinity Stones was to help Thanos realize this wish. And in his eyes, they were just a bunch of lunatics!

"What?!" The Avengers were shocked when they heard this. They had never imagined that Thanos's plan would be so insane. They had thought Thanos was just doing this for power, but this was not just about ruling. He wanted to slaughter the other half of the innocent people.

"These guys are crazy! They actually think this is a good plan!" Hawkeye couldn't help but curse.

If Vision hadn't shown up, they never would have known how sinister the enemy's plan was. And it was clear that they weren't just making things up. They had already taken action.

"We absolutely cannot let these damned guys succeed with this plan!" Natasha said, gritting her teeth. This was completely unfair to the other half of the population!

"Hahaha! This little sacrifice is nothing for the great plan!" Corvus Glaive spun his glaive and laughed out loud. A nonchalant expression was on his face.

It was only half of all life in the universe. For the future, it was all worth it. Besides, how could there be no sacrifices on the path to greatness? And to be able to sacrifice for Thanos was an honor in his eyes.

"You have completely lost your minds." Vision frowned slightly, his voice growing grave. They were only doing this to satisfy their own selfish desires!

"Reason? We don't need such things if we can help Lord Thanos complete his task," Corvus Glaive said with a cold sneer. "Besides, there's no way you can stop us!"

After all, no matter how powerful the enemy was, they were no match for their master, Thanos. Many races had tried to fight against his rule before, but they had all disappeared from the universe.

If the humans insisted on being stubborn, he wouldn't mind eliminating everyone on Earth after he took the stone. After all, this planet looked nice, and they could repopulate it later.

"You have lost yourselves, and I will not allow this!" Vision's eyes were filled with anger. He charged toward Corvus Glaive. When he reached him, he put all his strength into his right hand and punched Corvus Glaive, sending him flying.

Vision didn't stop his attack; he chased after the airborne Corvus Glaive.

"Do you think you can defeat me?" Corvus Glaive was still flying backward, but he swung his glaive at Vision. The rapidly spinning glaive seemed to rip through space and was in front of Vision in an instant.

Faced with the oncoming blow, Vision grabbed the glaive with both hands and slammed Corvus Glaive into the ground.

CRASH!

The ground was left with a terrifying trench where Vision had slammed Corvus Glaive into it.

"Let's finish this fast and go help Vision!" Steve's eyes flashed with excitement when he saw this. It was clear that Vision could hold his own against Corvus Glaive for a while. As long as they could take down Proxima Midnight, they could eliminate them all.

Proxima Midnight looked at the excited heroes with disdain. Seeing Steve charging at her, she pointed her weapon at him, and a blue beam of light shot out. Steve was caught off guard and was sent flying backward by the blue blast.

Faced with Natasha and Hawkeye attacking her together, she spun her spear and kicked Hawkeye away. At the same time, she brought her spear down on Natasha. In the nick of time, Natasha pulled out a nanotech sword from her waist to block the attack. But even so, there was a huge power gap. With just a single blow, she was sent flying.

Proxima Midnight had no intention of wasting any more time with them. After forcing them back, she leaped into the air and rushed toward Vision and Corvus Glaive. Their mission wasn't to kill them all but to get the Mind Stone.

At the same time, Vision, who was entangled with Corvus Glaive, had no time to stop Proxima Midnight from bringing her spear down on him.

"Proxima Midnight! Kill him!" Corvus Glaive saw this and a light flashed in his eyes. The glaive he was holding shot out a blue light, sending Vision flying into the air.

The airborne Vision just happened to run into the oncoming Proxima Midnight. If this hit landed, it would definitely pierce through Vision.

At that moment, Vision tried to turn his body, but the force of being sent backward was too great, and he couldn't control his body.

"Die, you foolish being!" Proxima Midnight sneered, her expression turning menacing. She could already see the image of Vision being pierced.

"No! Vision!" Steve got up and ran toward Vision. His eyes were bloodshot. If Vision was defeated, they would not only lose their teammate, but the Mind Stone would be taken by these monsters!

They could barely hold their own against Corvus Glaive and Proxima Midnight, but if the villains wanted to leave, there was nothing they could do!

Hawkeye got up and pulled an arrow from his quiver, but it was an explosive arrow. He had used up all the other arrows. If he used this one, Vision would also be injured. Everyone's expressions turned grim.

"Don't forget about me!" Just then, a black shadow flew through the sky. Sam charged at Proxima Midnight and hit her in the waist, sending her crashing into the ground.

Vision breathed a sigh of relief. He had thought it was over for him.

Proxima Midnight kicked Sam away. She then got up, looking at the heroes with an angry expression. She slightly bent her knees, and the spear in her hand glowed with a blue light. In the next second, a blue laser beam swept across the ground. The beam was aimed at Natasha and the others.

"Since you won't get out of my way, I'll deal with you all first!" The blue beam pierced through the Outriders in its path.

"This guy doesn't even care about his own people!" Natasha's eyes widened. This was far beyond her expectations. The laser was extremely fast and was already right next to her.

Just then, Steve blocked her way. He used his shield to block the oncoming blow. But even so, the energy from the blue laser pushed Steve backward. Hawkeye didn't waste this opportunity. He had already set up an explosive arrow and shot it at Proxima Midnight.

Proxima Midnight had no choice but to stop the beam. She leaped up, trying to dodge the explosive arrow.

"Think you can get away?!" Hawkeye smirked, a hint of pride in his eyes.

In the next second, the explosive arrow that should have just barely missed Proxima Midnight exploded right next to her. He had calculated it perfectly to catch her off guard.

Proxima Midnight was sent crashing into the ground. At the same time, Vision's condition was getting worse. Corvus Glaive took the opportunity to keep pushing Vision back.

Steve saw the chance and was about to go help when he saw Proxima Midnight, who had been sent flying, slowly get up.

"You… you're all asking to die!" Proxima Midnight's eyes were filled with anger, and there was a bloodstain on her cheek from the explosion.

ROAR!

Just then, a roar echoed from the landing craft. More Outriders, like a black tide, surged toward them.

"Are these things cockroaches or something?!" Rhodey's scalp went numb. "How many of these things do they have?!"

It was as if the Outriders were endless.
