Chapter 31 - Chapter 31 Searching for the Timber Dragon

Everyone looked at Hiccup strangely, wondering what important matter there was.

Stoick's eyes suddenly lit up and he asked, "Is Hiccup going to lead the warriors to find the Dragon Nest!?

"But now is not a good time. All the warriors have just returned, and every warrior is exhausted and needs rest!"

Hiccup was a little speechless. He always felt that his cheap father's mind was filled with war, and he felt uncomfortable if he didn't fight for a day.

Gobber asked with a smile, "Are you going to teach me a new ironworking technique!?

"The other companions looked at their Dragons and asked, "Are we going to intensify training!?

Hiccup stretched out his hand helplessly and said, "Don't mess around! Listen to me! And no more questions!"

At this, everyone quietly closed their mouths, looking forward to Hiccup revealing what important matter it was.

Then, Hiccup directly said, "The beginning of civilization is the transmission of writing, and to transmit writing, there must be paper!"

"Paper?"

Everyone's faces showed confused expressions, not understanding what paper was for.

Firstly, paper is most susceptible to dampness at sea, making parchment a better choice.

Secondly, paper is as expensive as gold, only used for religious Bibles and circulated among nobles.

What's more, Vikings are inherently pirates, so what civilization would they spread with paper!?

Are they going to spread the pirate captain's logbook!? Or are they going to spread a pirate legend?

So, everyone looked at Hiccup in confusion, completely not understanding what Hiccup meant.

Actually, Hiccup just wanted to avoid having to search for wool or parchment when using the toilet in the morning, and he also needed paper to design weapons.

Therefore, to get things done, these basic facilities must be complete.

Gobber directly said, "We don't know how to make paper at all!"

Hiccup smiled faintly and said, "Don't worry! As long as there are Dragons, everything is easy!"

Then, Hiccup looked at Stoick and said, "Father, assign me a team of warriors! I want to bring about earth-shattering changes to Bok Island!"

Stoick subconsciously wanted to refuse, as it was difficult to change a deeply ingrained impression of someone in a short time.

Before Stoick could agree, Twin sister Ruffnut directly stood up and said, "The warriors on Bok Island are busy fishing, so let the beautiful Ruffnut Dragon Knight help Hiccup Warrior!"

"Ruffnut and her foolish brother are very willing to serve!"

Astrid also said, not to be outdone, "I am also a Dragon Knight now, and I can help!"

Fishlegs also joined in, afraid of being left behind.

However, Hiccup was extremely helpless with this outcome. He originally wanted a separate team of soldiers to get rid of them, or more accurately, these two women.

Their disputes would definitely ruin his important plans, as details determine success or failure. If his plans were ruined by the disputes of these two women, it could potentially kill him.

Moreover, with two women vying for him, he had no way to resolve it.

The most crucial thing was that Stoick seemed very satisfied with both of them, and directly waved his hand saying, "That would be wonderful!"

"Let these young warriors from Bok Island go with you!"

As he spoke, Stoick also gave Hiccup a thoughtful look.

Hiccup could only helplessly mutter, "What a son-pitting father!"

Then he flipped onto Night Fury's neck and said, "It's still early, let's go quickly! To find Timberjack Dragons!"

"If we can tame Timberjack Dragons, we can get a lot of wood!"

With that, Hiccup commanded Night Fury to ascend, relying on Night Fury's past experience to search for wood on the surrounding islands.

Wood is definitely the most scarce resource. It can not only be used to make paper, but also is an important material for building warships. The Death Song Ballista also needs wood.

Although Hiccup also wanted to build warships out of iron, which would not only be fireproof but also allow Dragons to travel together, effectively turning them into aircraft carriers.

However, a simple iron ship would require a lot of iron ore, and no iron ore has been discovered nearby yet, otherwise the villagers on Bok Island would not still be using old weapons.

They wouldn't have to melt down completely unusable longswords to forge axes.

Hiccup shook his head and muttered to himself, "Never mind, let's solve the toilet paper problem first!"

Then, Hiccup asked in Dragon Language, "Where are the Timberjack Dragons around here!?

Night Fury made a sharp turn, and Astrid and the others behind him also urged their Dragons to follow, but they were a bit clumsy, so their turning speed was very slow.

"Roar~~!"

Passing by a small island, they vaguely heard the roar of different sounding Dragons.

"Whoosh~~!"

It seemed that the Timberjack Dragons on this small island, upon seeing their kind, immediately flew out as if to greet them friendly.

When these Timberjack Dragons saw humans on the backs of their kind, their vertical pupils widened instantly, feeling incredibly unbelievable.

Then they directly plummeted towards the small island.

Hiccup quickly said, "Follow them!"

These Timberjack Dragons are social creatures; finding one means finding a whole group.

Astrid and the others behind them couldn't help but feel a little nervous after seeing this scene, after all, the Dragons beneath them were at least on Bok Island.

But this time they were facing Dragons in a wild environment, and they were directly facing an entire Dragon group.

This made them not only a little nervous but also a little scared, because they hadn't brought any weapons when they set out. And their coordination with the Dragons was not good.

They even feared that if a battle broke out, they might be left behind by these Dragons.

"Whoosh~~!"

Night Fury flapped its wings and landed directly on the small island, feeling the sunlight on the island slightly and suddenly feeling quite at ease.

Then, Hiccup swaggered across the small island, searching for the Timberjack Dragons.

He had just seen the Timberjack Dragons descend vertically, and in the blink of an eye, they were gone.

"Roar~!"

Suddenly, the roar of a Timberjack Dragon was heard from another direction.

"Rumble~! Bang bang bang!!"

The entire ground was shaking. Astrid quickly asked, "Is it an earthquake!?

Hiccup said calmly, "It's the Timberjack Dragons honing their wings! It seems the Timberjack Dragons are not far from us."

Then, Hiccup sat on Night Fury's back and said, "Go! Quickly find them!"
