Oh is a start alright, Irish thought inwardly, starting from tomorrow she would no longer be the pauper everyone knew.
"I heard that the new heir to The Thompson empire would be revealed tomorrow evening." Olivia said, clicking her lips together.
"Yes, my father received an invitation. "
"Me too. "
As Astrid and her friends continued to talk among themselves, Irish couldn't help but feel the irony in their words.
Just moments ago, they were mocking her, ridiculing her for working in a place like this – and minutes later, they were excitedly discussing the new heir to the Thompson empire, completely unaware that they had just been talking to her.
Irish felt a surge of amusement at the situation.
She wanted to slap the truth in their faces, to tell them that she was the very person they were talking about.
But she held back, knowing that she didn't have the inheritance in her hands yet.
Besides, she thought, it's more fun this way. Let them find out tomorrow, along with everyone else.
After a few minutes of listening to their conversation, Irish excused herself and faced her boss, Karen.
Karen was a middle-aged woman with short brown hair and a kind face. She was smiling at Irish, a hint of sadness in her eyes.
"I heard you were leaving, "
Karen said, her voice warm and gentle.
Irish nodded, a small smile on her face.
"Well, it was great having you as an employee," Karen continued.
"Although it wasn't easy, you still stuck around."
Irish nodded again, not planning on saying anything.
She would definitely remember Karen, who had been kind to her despite the difficulties of the job.
After taking her payment, Irish left the store, feeling a big burden lift off her chest. She was finally free, no longer chained to the job that had brought her nothing but embarrassment and pain.
As she walked silently to her dormitory building in the university campus, she couldn't help but get excited for tomorrow.
The sun was setting over the campus, casting a warm orange glow over the buildings and the people walking by.
Irish felt a sense of peace wash over her as she breathed in the fresh air, feeling the cool breeze on her face.
She had spent countless nights in her dorm room, studying and working on her assignments, but tonight was different.
Tonight, she felt a sense of hope and excitement that she hadn't felt in a long time.
Irish walked into her dorm building, greeting the security guard with a smile before making her way to the elevator.
She pressed the button for her floor, watching as the numbers lit up one by one.
When the elevator doors opened, Irish stepped out into thehallway, which was empty except for a few students walking by.
The walls were painted a dull gray, and the floor was covered with a faded carpet.
Irish's dorm room was at the end of the hallway, and she walked towards it slowly, taking in the familiar sights and sounds of the place she had called home for the past few years.
She had shared the room with a roommate, but the girl had moved out a few months ago, and Irish had been enjoying the peace and quiet ever since.
As she approached her room, Irish noticed that the door was slightly ajar.
She was sure she had closed it before leaving for work, and a shiver ran down her spine as she wondered if someone had been in her room.
She slowly pushed the door open and called out, "Hello? Is anyone there? "But there was no response.
Irish stepped inside, looking around the room cautiously. Everything seemed to be in order, but she couldn't shake off the feeling that something was off.
She decided to ignore it and started getting ready for bed, but the feeling of unease lingered.
As she lay in bed, Irish couldn't help but think about the events of the day.
She had finally left her job, and tomorrow she would receive her inheritance.
She felt a sense of excitement and nervousness as she thought about the future.
What would it hold for her? Would she be able to make a new life for herself, or would she struggle to adapt to her new circumstances?
Irish didn't know, but she was determined to make the most of the opportunity she had been given.
As she drifted off to sleep, Irish felt a sense of hope that she hadn't felt before
