Chapter 10 - Chapter 10: Someone is coming!

"That's right!"

"Nami, we hit the jackpot!"

Lynn never thought he'd get a Devil Fruit this time. His luck was off the charts!

"Lynn, show me! Hurry up!"

"Okay, Nami, don't get too excited~"

Little Nami carefully took the Devil Fruit from Lynn's hand, her face still brimming with excitement.

"This is worth 100 million Berries?"

In her eyes, the Devil Fruit had already transformed into a mountain of Berries!

Staring at the fruit was like staring at pure gold. No treasure could compare!

This Devil Fruit looked like a small gourd, green all over and covered with black swirls.

Lynn couldn't recognize what ability it held at first glance, but he figured it must be a Paramecia-type.

Suddenly, Lynn heard noises outside!

"Nami, someone's coming! We gotta move!" Lynn whispered.

In an instant, the Berry-shaped glimmer in Nami's eyes vanished. She quickly opened her backpack and stashed the Devil Fruit inside.

"Let's go, Lynn! They must be after my 100 million Berries!" Nami clutched her bag, nervousness creeping onto her face.

"Yeah! We'll slip out the window!"

Without hesitation, Nami and Lynn jumped out and disappeared into the ruins.

A few minutes later, hidden in the corner of a rundown house, Lynn and Nami carefully peeked from behind a wall.

"There's a lot of them… Are they after treasure too?" Nami whispered.

"Maybe not. They might be looking for Devil Fruits." Lynn's face turned serious.

Around the building where they had found the Devil Fruit, dozens of men in suits were combing through the area.

Lynn recognized them instantly—the Cipher Pol agents of the World Government!

"What?! Then we definitely can't get caught! This is my 100 million Berries!" Little Nami hugged her backpack tightly, afraid they'd snatch the fruit away.

"Don't worry, Nami. These guys aren't that strong. As long as we stay hidden, we'll be fine. Even if we get spotted, I'll protect you." Lynn reassured her, holding her hand.

Judging by their weapons, these were just low-ranking agents—no match for him.

But Lynn couldn't act recklessly. There was always a chance a real powerhouse was among them.

If he failed to eliminate them all, he and Nami would end up with wanted posters from the World Government.

That would be a disaster. The longer he could stay under the radar, the better—especially in the East Blue.

"Right! Lynn, you have to protect me. And my Devil Fruit—it's worth 100 million Berries!" Nami said with a dead-serious look.

Then, she snuggled up close to Lynn.

The two kids silently watched as the Cipher Pol agents continued their search.

Suddenly, Lynn spotted a man in a suit with two curved horns for hair—Blueno of CP9!

Lynn's heart skipped a beat.

Every CP9 agent knew Rokushiki. That meant Blueno was dangerous.

Without hesitation, Lynn pulled Nami deeper into the shadows.

He wasn't worried for himself—but Nami couldn't protect herself.

"What's wrong, Lynn?" Nami whispered.

"There's a strong guy with them. We need to stay hidden."

Hearing that, Nami tensed up, squeezing Lynn's hand.

"Don't worry. We're well hidden. They won't find us." Lynn reassured her.

"Yeah… I trust you, Lynn." Nami nodded.

But Lynn was puzzled—why was Blueno here?

Shouldn't CP9 be in Water 7?

He glanced at Nami's backpack, a thought forming in his mind.

Could this Devil Fruit be the Door-Door Fruit?

But wasn't that given to Blueno by Spandam?

Lynn wasn't sure.

But if this was the Door-Door Fruit, he and Nami had just struck gold!

It was perfect for Nami!

Should he trick her into eating it?

"Nami, why don't you eat this Devil Fruit? You'd get an incredible ability! Otherwise, if they find it, we'll lose everything." Lynn suggested casually.

"Eh?!"

"Lynn, this is 100 million Berries!" Nami whispered fiercely.

She had planned to sell it later to fund her dream. But 100 million Berries was too little!

"But Nami—"

Suddenly, footsteps approached!

"Shh~"

"They're coming!" Lynn whispered.

"What do we do?! Are they really after my Devil Fruit?" Nami panicked.

"Lynn… should I eat it now?"

Lynn's eyes gleamed.

"If you don't, they might take it. Your call."

Nami bit her lip, conflicted.

"Nami, we can always make more Berries. But if we lose the Devil Fruit, it's gone forever." Lynn pushed further.

"...Fine! No way I'm letting them take it!"

Determined, Nami pulled out the Devil Fruit.

"Lynn… Devil Fruits taste awful, right?"

"Yeah. So don't scream, okay?" Lynn warned.

Nami gulped.

"I... I understand."

Tears welled up in her eyes.

"Don't cry, Nami. If you get stronger, we'll have so many chances in the future!" Lynn grinned.

Nami wiped her eyes, took a deep breath—then bit into the Devil Fruit.

Instantly, her face turned green and purple—it was disgusting!

She barely managed to swallow the first bite.

But after a moment of hesitation, she clenched her teeth and forced herself to finish it—one bite at a time.

All the while, she muttered about losing 10 million Berries with every mouthful.

Once she was done, Lynn took out an orange from her bag.

"Nami, eat this. It'll help with the taste."

Without thinking, Nami peeled the orange and ate it.

"Better?"

"Yeah… But… Lynn… my 100 million Berries are gone… wuwuwuwu~~~~"

"It's fine, it's fine! We'll find even bigger treasures!"

"Wait—who's there?!"

"There's someone here! Surround them!"

"Oh no! We've been spotted! Lynn, let's go!"

Panicked, Nami instinctively reached for the wall—

And pushed open an air door!

Lynn froze.

She had just created a Door out of thin air!

Nami grabbed Lynn and pulled him through.

"Bang!!"

The door burst open—

But they were already gone.

The Door-Door Fruit!
