Chapter 74: Saitama's wailing
Early in the morning, Saitama was on the phone.
"Yes, we need breakfast for twenty people, and the location is..." After witnessing Bane's horrific appetite the day before yesterday, Saitama had completely given up the idea of cooking.
It would be best if the restaurant provided three meals a day. Anyway, he could see now that Bane was genuinely wealthy and didn't treat him as an outsider at all.
Just like now—this home had changed dramatically. The house was still the same house, but the refrigerator had been replaced with a larger, more advanced one, the TV had been replaced with a brand new high-end model, and even a game console had been purchased!
That's right—after dinner the day before yesterday, the city had returned to normal, and Bane, Saitama, and Zoro had started shopping directly. They not only bought daily necessities but also replaced an entire set of home appliances, sofas, and other items for Saitama's place.
However, no one dared deliver goods to the door, so in the end Bane stored everything in his dark space and brought them back. Then the three of them had spent all day yesterday installing everything they'd bought.
"How can you be kidding? I live here!" Saitama argued to the person on the other end of the phone, gritting his teeth.
This had happened yesterday too. Everything was fine before, but as soon as he mentioned the delivery address, the person on the other end treated him like a prankster. After scolding him, they refused to deliver food no matter what he said and rudely hung up without permission!
"Good morning." Bane yawned and walked out of his bedroom, then said, "Okay, okay, who would dare deliver food to this cursed place you live in? Even if they arrived alive, they'd die here. Don't make things difficult for them. Let's go out and eat later."
"It's not as dangerous as you make it sound. I've lived here for so long and nothing's happened, right?" Saitama put away the phone and said with some dissatisfaction.
Now that he'd finally become wealthy, Saitama also wanted to enjoy the lazy feeling of having meals delivered to his door!
But Bane ignored him and went into the bathroom to wash up. Just as he finished, Zoro got up, and the two were perfectly coordinated.
"Although I don't want to complain, this place is too small. Have you ever considered moving somewhere else?" Bane took out a bottle of drink from the refrigerator, sat next to Saitama, and said casually while watching TV together.
The news was being broadcast on TV, and it seemed some strange creature had appeared in neighboring City A again. A hero had already eliminated it, and people were praising their achievement.
Saitama was obviously tempted, but he quickly shook his head and said, "Forget it. After all, you're only staying here temporarily. You might leave someday. I'm not as rich as you. When you leave, I'll have to move back. It's too troublesome."
"What would you like to eat later? I'll treat you," Bane asked casually.
"Steak? Barbecue?"
"Eating something so greasy so early in the morning? I like it!"
"I chose it specifically to cater to your appetite, hahahaha."
"I don't believe it—you must have been craving it for a long time!"
The two bantered while watching TV, seeming to live very comfortable lives.
Speaking of which, although Saitama had initially been stunned by Bane's financial resources and agreed to let the two stay, after calming down, Saitama had also wondered whether these two people would get along well with him. Would the three of them crowding in here cause unnecessary conflicts? What should he do if that happened? Should he return the money?
Anyway, Saitama had harbored such concerns.
It was only the third day, but he'd already completely accepted Bane and Zoro. In his opinion, he and Bane got along very well. Neither was the type to fuss over trivial matters, and both had carefree personalities. As for Zoro, although he seemed a little cold on weekdays, he just didn't like to talk much. Moreover, he would meditate or practice whenever he had free time and wasn't the type who liked to cause trouble. So now Saitama only hoped these two could live in his house permanently, so he could continue having meals with them!
"In a couple of days, I'm going to visit Silver Fang's dojo to learn some fighting skills and martial arts. Do you want to come with me?" Bane asked while drinking.
"Who is Silver Fang?" Saitama asked in confusion.
This left Bane not knowing where to start. After a moment of silence, he said with feeling, "As expected of you."
Just when Saitama was about to ask more, the doorbell rang, which surprised Saitama. "These past few days have been really strange. In the past, no one would visit me once every six months."
Although confused, he quickly got up and opened the door, then saw Genos, who had fully recovered, standing outside.
"Uh, you?" Saitama looked at Genos in confusion, wondering what he was doing here.
"My name is Genos, Teacher Saitama!" Genos said seriously.
Saitama stared blankly. Before he could react to this strange title, Genos asked again, "Excuse me, are Mr. Bane and Mr. Zoro here too?"
"Ah, yes," Saitama responded instinctively, then immediately said, "No, when did I become your teacher? When did those two become your teachers? Why didn't I know?!"
"In fact, I've made up my mind to take all three of you as my teachers, because I have reasons to become stronger!" Genos said in a deep voice.
"But I never agreed to it?!" Saitama said frantically.
But Saitama was genuinely a very kind person. Even though Genos seemed strange and unreasonable, he still invited him in to sit down and talk.
Soon, Genos sat obediently in front of the large coffee table newly bought by Bane, while Saitama sat opposite him, and Bane and Zoro sat casually on the sofa.
"Come to think of it, your injury healed so quickly. It's only been two days, right?" Saitama poured Genos a cup of tea.
"Yes, most of my body is actually mechanical. As long as I replace the parts, I can heal quickly," Genos tapped his arm.
"That's quite interesting," Saitama smiled, then said, "But you can go back after you finish your tea. I have no plans to accept a disciple yet."
Genos looked at the teacup in front of him silently for a moment, then turned to look at Bane and said, "Teacher Bane."
"Hey, I didn't agree to be your teacher!" Bane waved his hand quickly, then said, "Besides, I'm just like you. I think I'm not strong enough, so I want to find a way to become stronger here. Speaking of which, I'm going to Silver Fang's dojo to learn some skills in a few days."
Genos was stubborn. When he saw that Bane also refused, he looked at Zoro again.
Zoro was stunned for a moment, and after thinking briefly, he shook his head and said, "I am not qualified to be a teacher yet. Sorry."
Besides, he was a swordsman and the person opposite was a cyborg. No matter how you looked at it, he wasn't suitable to be someone's teacher, right?
After being rejected by three people in a row, Genos wasn't discouraged at all. He took a deep breath and said, "Although the three teachers are very humble, I have seen with my own eyes how powerful you are. Maybe my sincerity isn't enough to impress you three. Anyway, I will not give up!"
Bane scratched his head, pointed at Saitama and said, "He is very strong—I can even say that I think he is extremely strong—but Zoro and I are different. If you want to become his disciple, just pester him. The two of us will cheer you on."
"Hey, Bane, you guy!" When Saitama heard that Bane was going to put the blame on him, he slammed the table and was about to argue with Bane.
And Genos nodded seriously and said, "Yes, I understand, Mr. Bane!"
Now that you understand, don't call me teacher!
It was obvious that Genos, this young man, couldn't listen at all!
But at that moment, Zoro suddenly seemed to notice something and said, "Someone—no, a strange aura is approaching."
Ever since becoming the Thunder Fruit user, Zoro had been using his Observation Haki all day long, intending to surpass Bane in Observation Haki and establish a new advantage, so he was the first to notice something was wrong.
As for Bane, he didn't keep his Observation Haki active all day, and Saitama's perception was already poor. The second to react was Genos. He stood up and entered combat mode, saying, "It's indeed a high-speed approaching reaction!"
As soon as he finished speaking, a mantis-man blasted a big hole in the wall behind the TV. He had an evil smile on his face and said angrily, "Hahaha, I am—"
But before he could finish his words, a wailing sound rose to the sky!
"My new color TV!!!" Saitama held the TV with its completely broken screen and roared with an expression of shock, anger, and heartbreak.
