"You need to bring him back!!" Axel slammed his palms onto the table where Miss Cayenne's seat had been.
Miss Cayenne's eyes trailed his figure with a lazy smirk, "No." Her short response made Axel grit his teeth.
"Even if he wasn't a disposable soldier and was already infused, I still wouldn't attempt to bring him back." Her eyes turned cold.
"And watch your tone with me, don't mistake my indulgence for familiarity and kindness for naivety."
Axel's hand ran through his hair, and he let out a shaky breath. He couldn't lose his best friend as well.
His hand fiddled with the communication chip that Mr. Stone had given him and he was about to call in his favour with Miss Cayenne when she spoke.
"Also, before you think to call in your favour, let me make something clear." She stood up from her chair.
She leaned in, "I will take it as you using your favor, I will attempt to bring him back and I'll 'accidentally' fail." Her voice whispered in his ears.
