Chapter 25 - Deadpool Comes Knocking

Even if she was speechless and annoyed.

What other choice did Pepper Potts have but to let Tony Stark mess around? She was just an assistant!

"Are you sure?"

"I mean, this is your 'final decision', right?"

"You won't change your mind again and suddenly tell me you're going to Las Vegas?"

Pepper Potts pulled out Tony Stark's schedule, her eyes fixed on him.

"Even if I changed my mind, there wouldn't be time, would there?"

"So, you don't need to worry about that happening."

"Relieved?"

Tony Stark spread his hands to Pepper Potts.

Pepper Potts thought about it and realized that was indeed the case, so she didn't say anything more.

Instead, she picked up her pen and made some changes to the itinerary.

"And!"

But soon.

Pepper Potts discovered another problem and gravely warned Tony Stark.

"You need to go to Afghanistan tomorrow. You can't just cancel it on a whim."

"If you really want to cancel, I think you should talk to Stan."

"Do you want me to contact him for you?"

Tony Stark frowned slightly, clearly displeased.

With his current status and position, there weren't many things he truly couldn't get out of, maybe only a few times a year.

But tomorrow's trip to Afghanistan was precisely one of those things.

It was a completely different matter compared to an award ceremony.

Whether he attended the award ceremony or not, no one would really care, perhaps except for Rhodey, who might be a little bummed.

After all, he'd stood up big-shot Tony.

But tomorrow's trip to Afghanistan had all those military bigwigs, even high-ranking officers at the general level.

It wasn't a place where Tony Stark could just do as he pleased.

"No need."

Tony Stark waved his hand.

It was just a trip to Afghanistan, it wouldn't take too long.

He'd treat it like a vacation!

"Cancel everything else besides tomorrow's deal!"

"I'm telling you, Pepper Potts," Tony Stark said again.

Tony Stark didn't waste any more time and left his office.

Leaving his little assistant to shake her head helplessly.

It was really exhausting to follow a boss as willful as Tony Stark.

Clang! Zhou Cheng gently put down the washed dishes, wiped his hands, and sat back on the sofa.

He started to ponder again.

Although he had previously disparaged the first-generation Mark Armor in his diary.

But in reality, it was just wishful thinking.

Now, calming down and thinking carefully, even the first Mark Armor, as crude as it was, possessed immense commercial value.

Don't let the unsightly appearance and bulkiness fool you; the fact that it could be used smoothly and flexibly was already quite remarkable.

That wasn't something just any company could accomplish.

In fact, there were essentially no companies currently capable of it.

Even though it was just a thing Tony Stark hammered together in a cave, it was already far ahead of its time.

And that wasn't an exaggeration.

Just look at Hammer Industries, for starters.

Even though Justin Hammer appeared several times in the Iron Man film series, he was always just a foil for Tony Stark.

Tony Stark stepped all over him, humiliating him in every way. Like a clown.

But Hammer Industries was actually really, really good! They just couldn't compare to the behemoth that was Stark Industries.

Yet, even a company the size of Hammer Industries, the robots they produced were total lemons. They'd trip over themselves while walking, and they'd throw out their backs just turning around.

Taking off was even worse. They'd fly around like a firework, bumping into everything.

It was a complete disaster.

And it wasn't just a matter of needing a better power source.

Zhou Cheng believed it.

If he really got his hands on the blueprints for the original armor, he could definitely sell them for a good price.

But the key problem remained: Zhou Cheng had no idea where that cave was!

Could he really do what the diary suggested and go rob Obadiah Stane?

Well, that was just Zhou Cheng's wishful thinking.

He was just idly considering it.

He wouldn't actually resort to robbery just to make money.

Although Obadiah Stane wasn't a good person, he was fundamentally different from the terrorists of the Ten Rings.

Going to the cave to snatch the blueprints from the Ten Rings, and going to Stane's office to snatch them from him.

The nature of it was completely different.

Zhou Cheng would have no problem with the former, but with the latter, he didn't think he could bring himself to do it.

Moreover.

This kind of thing isn't something you can accomplish just by having brute strength; reality isn't a movie!

"After thinking it over, selling the house and buying stocks is the most reliable!"

After calculating for a long time, Zhou Cheng finally shook his head helplessly.

Although the money from selling the house didn't seem like much, it wasn't a small sum for an ordinary person like him!

Taking advantage of the ups and downs of Stark Industries, he could make a killing.

At least, it was money the original Zhou Cheng couldn't earn in a lifetime.

Wasn't that enough?

One shouldn't be too greedy!

"That's settled then!"

After some thought, Zhou Cheng made his decision.

Considering the time, as the Apex Award ceremony had already begun, Zhou Cheng didn't dawdle.

He planned to go to a real estate agency and find a broker to handle the sale of his house.

He changed his clothes and was about to head out.

But as soon as he opened the door, Zhou Cheng couldn't help but be stunned.

Because a tall, familiar-looking white man with a crew cut appeared in Zhou Cheng's sight.

The man was standing right outside Zhou Cheng's door, blocking his path.

There was no doubt he was here for Zhou Cheng.

"Deadpool?"

Zhou Cheng almost blurted it out.

Because the white man in front of him looked exactly like Deadpool, without any difference.

Or rather, the only difference.

Was that this person's face wasn't the cratered, moon-like face of Deadpool.

Instead, it was a perfectly intact, normal face.

Was it Wade before he became Deadpool, or someone else who looked very similar?

This thought flashed through Zhou Cheng's mind.

"Who are you?"

"Why are you outside my door?"

Zhou Cheng stared directly at the white man in front of him, asking the questions that were on his mind.

"And, you wouldn't happen to be named Wade Wilson, would you?"

Unable to suppress his curiosity, Zhou Cheng added another sentence.

Then Zhou Cheng saw.

The man, who had originally had a cool and charming expression, immediately showed a look of astonishment on his face.

"You know me?"
