Chapter 54 - Chapter 54 It's Him Who Stick To Me

Seeing Su Qing's expression of indifference, as she turned and was about to leave,

That cold, solitary look, coupled with the thought of the boy hidden deep within her heart who had no regard for her at all, made Xu Miaoran truly infuriated. Pursing her lips, she reached out and grabbed her arm.

Forced to stop, Su Qing turned her head, attempting to rip her arm free from Xu Miaoran's grasp.

"Let me go."

The displeasure in her eyes was deeply concealed. She had always disliked being approached, and it wasn't that she was easily bullied, but she simply didn't want to cause trouble. She had a good idea that someone had assaulted her that night, but she had no proof. Now, the perpetrator was holding her arm.

Xu Miaoran didn't intend to let go. Instead, she leaned in, looking down at her.

"Su Qing, was Jiang Sui the one who brought you back?"

She had seen it.

This was Su Qing's first reaction. She didn't like wasting time on such useless things at her age. She knew exactly what she should do now.

But ever since she met Jiang Sui—no, perhaps it was as she grew up—her temperament or appearance had always attracted things that she deeply resented. Yet, she felt helpless; she couldn't do anything about these spoiled, powerful children.

But Su Qing knew clearly that she was different from them, and couldn't afford to waste time with them, or even hide from them. She could only endure silently and not lash out.

Xu Miaoran, unlike Su Qing, couldn't hold her temper. A spoiled child, her eyes were filled with anger, and her voice was sharp, though subdued.

"Su Qing, so what if he sent you back? He still have a date with me later."

She chuckled, hoping to see the expression on Su Qing's face, but none came. Su Qing remained calm.

"Then can you let me go? It would be embarrassing if you were late for the date."

She acted as if nothing had happened, as if the person Xu Miaoran was talking about had nothing to do with her. She was even a little irritated, eager to leave, her words remaining as polite as ever.

Xu Miaoran felt as if she had punched cotton. She had seen many hysterical girls, some angry, some pitiful, and many other types, but Su Qing was the first time she had seen one like this.

You might call her pitiful, but her eyes were clear, neither angry nor aggrieved.

She was clearly a humble person, yet she possessed an inexplicable sense of detachment.

"You don't like Jiang Sui?"

Xu Miaoran spoke a little impatiently, her voice rising considerably, thick with suspicion.

"I don't like him."

Without hesitation or pause, she answered bluntly. The girl's soft eyes met Xu Miaoran's incredulous ones, and she spoke slowly.

"He's the one who's stick to me."

"If you don't believe me, go ask him. I just want to study hard."

May be it was the cold draft in the hall, but Su Qing's mind suddenly became incredibly clear. She knew only that she was already mired in the mud, and there was no need to drag someone unrelated into it.

If she hadn't gone to him that night, or even socialized with him on most occasions, it wouldn't have brought her so much trouble.

Su Qing's porcelain-white face was cold, her wrist aching from being gripped. With a gentle tug, it freed itself. Under Xu Miaoran's incredulous gaze, she saw Jiang Sui.

It was simply because, in the hall, the young man slowly paced toward her, his eyes brimming with indescribable emotion.

In a voice audible to all three of them.

"I'm the one who's been sticking to her, that's for sure."

He had actually heard her. Su Qing pursed her lips, lowered her head, and said nothing, wanting nothing more than to leave quickly.
