Chapter 93 - Chapter 93 Don't Be So Far Away

Doll?

Su Qing's fingers, tucked into her pockets, pinched the fabric tightly.

The scorching sun tinted her face slightly red. She pursed her lips, her once cold eyes now revealing a hint of awkward embarrassment.

She was momentarily at a loss, standing to the side of the doorway, surrounded by people coming in and out. If Jiang Sui hadn't held her wrist, she would have fallen.

Her white wrists were restrained, and she was led to a shady spot nearby.

The warmth on her face dissipated considerably, the sunlight no longer glaring.

The boy's hand loosened. The touch of his fingertips sent a scorching heat through his wrist, his heart ablaze. He stared at Su Qing, never moving his gaze away.

She remained silent.

Looking at her toes, she took a deep breath. Su Qing's soft, limp voice hung in the air, powerless and full of grievance.

"Can I leave it with you? I... can pay..."

Perhaps she felt a little unsure about her words, so her voice grew weaker as she spoke.

?

Pay?

She truly could have said that.

The corners of Jiang Sui's lips curved slightly, and he resisted the urge to pinch the waist of the girl in front of him. His eyebrows were throbbing wildly.

"Let me hear it. How much are you going to pay?"

"How? Hmm?"

Thin, cold lips whispered softly. His fingers pulled the man in front him close to his eyes, forcing Su Qing to look up.

She placed her hands on Jiang Sui's chest.

Innocent, yet within those bright, clear orange eyes was a shimmer of fear, and she cried out in surprise.

"Jiang Sui, you released first..."

There were so many people coming and going here that Su Qing suddenly felt overwhelmed with shame. Her cheeks flushed crimson with helplessness, and she could only press her palms firmly against him.

However, the thin fabric covering the boy's chest couldn't hide his warm body heat.

It felt almost scorching, and Su Qing was about to withdraw her hand.

Jiang Sui had no intention of letting her go. His arms tightened around her waist. She was much thinner than he had imagined, and he could even pull her into his arms with one hand, effortlessly.

He ignored Su Qing's struggles.

"Jiang Sui, please let me go... for a moment."

Su Qing didn't want to see the eyes on the street, but she knew that the two of them had definitely become the focus of attention.

"Let's stop arguing, okay? Let's make peace."

He seemed not to hear what she said, simply staring at her, his breath spraying on her face.

The hot hands on her waist revealed the intimacy of their actions.

He spoke words of reconciliation, but there was another girl.

He touched her in the street, completely unconcerned about her feelings, without even a word of explanation. Su Qing felt like she was no longer herself.

It was clearly him who had stolen her heart.

A sense of grievance welled up in her heart.

Her eyes instantly turned red, and she furrowed her brows, her eyes moist, ready to burst into tears.

Her pale face was filled with sorrow, and she bit her lip.

Not wanting to feel so embarrassed, Su Qing punched Jiang Sui hard.

"Jiang Sui, let me go!"

"Do whatever you want with those dolls. They're your money anyway, and it has nothing to do with me. Let me go!"

She growled like a little monster, her eyes tightly shut, and now she wouldn't even look at Jiang Sui.

Pressing her head against Jiang Sui's chest, Su Qing blinked, desperately trying to keep the tears from falling.

She bit her lip stubbornly, covering her mouth with her hand.

She felt the pounding of her chest, and the accusations of her grievances, laced with sobs.

Jiang Sui froze, his heart clenched in a fistful of hands on his handsome face.

He couldn't help but let go of her.

"I'm sorry. It's my fault..."

The young man panicked for a moment, unsure what to do. His resolute face was etched with anxiety and panic. The coldness in his eyes had completely vanished, leaving only anxiety in his pupils.

No matter what had happened before, what mistakes had occurred, or what had happened between them.

At this moment, Jiang Sui attributed everything to himself.

It was his fault.

"Doll, you can leave it with me. You can keep it as long as you want. It's my fault, Nannan. Don't be angry, don't be angry..."

The girl, with red eyes like a rabbit, lowered her head, pursed her lips, and remained silent, made Jiang Sui completely lose his temper and crouch down beneath her head.

He was at a loss, wanting to touch that little face, but his hands at his sides were incredibly stiff. He didn't know what to do at this point.

"Nannan, it's my fault. You hit me, you scolded me."

He tried to grab the girl's wrist and hit him, but her hand was limp, powerless. Su Qing pulled his hand back and stepped back.

Her avoidance made Jiang Sui's eyes pause, his fingers frozen at his sides.

The shadow gradually dissipated, and a half-eye gaze fell on the boy's back, bringing a warmth that couldn't dispel a sense of loneliness.

"Nannan, I don't like you being so clear with me."

"I don't like you avoiding me like this either."

"You make me feel like I'm something to you, yet I'm not."

The boy's voice was hoarse and dry, as if it had been stoked by fire.

That half-step or so between them lay so easily between them.

Those deep, dark eyes gazed at Su Qing, his hands resting simply at his sides, his fingertips even trembling slightly.

"Let's not be so far apart."

It was unclear how much of those words the girl took in, but she took another step back.

She was even further away from him.

The girl finally managed to steady herself and took a deep breath. Her eyes were red, and her face was filled with grievance. Her beautiful red lips were pursed as she stared at Jiang Sui in silence.

Steadying her breathing, Su Qing pinched her fingers. The damp sweat on her palms made her feel uncomfortable.

However, with plenty of sweat, tears wouldn't fall.

She didn't want to be so embarrassed.

The girl's eyelids lifted slightly.

"Jiang Sui, I don't like you touching me in front of so many people. You know what? I don't like it. You make me feel so cheap."

"You made me feel like I was someone you could touch and do anything with, no matter the circumstances."

Her lips gradually paled, her face drained of color, the only red tinge being her eyes.

Jiang Sui felt a sudden shock, his entire body frozen, unable to move.

In the warm sunlight, he felt as if he were in an ice cellar.

He knew something about her; though he didn't know exactly, he could guess what it was...

She was so sensitive to the gazes of others.

Jiang Sui's face suddenly turned cold and pale.

"Yes..."
