"Su Qing, calm down!"
Jiang Sui's voice was deep and cold, and he gripped Su Qing's arm tightly, not letting go.
The rain poured down like a cascading raindrop. The young man, as if he had never left, appeared in front Su Qing like a god descending from heaven. Su Qing felt dazed. Her eyelashes prickled, and a hint of vulnerability etched itself on her cheeks, but her eyes were frozen.
"I can't calm down."
All those old photos, one by one, were stored in her phone. Someone was really going to threaten her with them.
And that photo? How dare!
Su Qing was completely different from her usual calm self. Jiang Sui had already swiped the contents of her trouser pocket and dropped them to the ground.
"Jiang Sui, let me go!"
May be it was the heavy rain, but Su Qing couldn't open her eyes. She felt the warmth in her gaze nearly drown her.
The young man's frail body now gently embraced her, holding her close to his chest.
"Qing Qing, be good. Qing Qing, don't cry. Qing Qing, be good. It will fine soon. Those people don't deserve you risking your life to reveal the truth. I'll give you everything you want."
He had no idea such a paranoid demon resided within her.
The seemingly well-behaved, top-performing girl had been ignited by a single blow.
"Jiang Sui, you don't know, you know nothing…"
Su Qing, her voice tearing, was almost broken.
She had planned it all: she would fight alone. Su Rao would see the letter, and when she did, she would forgive her.
The person in his arms trembled relentlessly, her tears mingling with the rain as they streamed down Jiang Sui's neck. The young man felt a chill, a chill that reached all the way to his heart, a chill so deep it felt like ice.
He'd been holding back for so long, and in that instant, it all collapsed.
He completely abandoned all plans.
When he saw Su Qing leaving her house, he noticed she was in a bad mood and assumed she was simply out to vent. He hadn't expected to see her do something so dangerous.
Jiang Sui's entire body was in turmoil when he saw the latest news he'd found.
Without even thinking, he intervened to stop Su Qing.
He even thought, if Hu Yifan hadn't said Su Qing wasn't in good spirits lately, he wouldn't have dared to think about it. It was too terrified.
Even a moment later, he would have lost her.
What use that all truth revealed until that time?
Su Qing was overcome with emotion. Jiang Sui had carried her back home. She'd lied to Su Rao that it was raining heavily and Ranran's parents were away on a business trip, so she had to stay with her.
Su Rao still trusted Liu Ranran, so she didn't think much about it.
Now, inside the small room, Su Qing was sitting on the sofa in the boy's arms. She was wet and motionless, and Jiang Sui was also motionless.
"Jiang Sui..."
Su Qing's gaze were broken, her lips and teeth dry, her cheeks cold, her pupils hollow, and she mumbled something.
"They can't post photo of Ruanruan, Jiang Sui..."
The girl sobbed in pain, biting her lip, not knowing how to speak.
Su Qing's mind was filled with those photos, and she trembled all over.
She had thought it was all in the past, but she hadn't expected the memory to be so deadly.
Jiang Sui half-knelt in front the girl, holding her fingers and repeatedly scraping them, trying to warm them. Seeing her dry lips, he wanted to get some hot water, but he was worried about Su Qing being alone.
"I'm here, don't be afraid. I'm always here."
The girl's fingertips were icy cold, and no matter how hard he tried, he couldn't warm them. Jiang Sui lowered his eyes, observing her soaked body.
He swallowed back the words he wanted to say.
Su Qing's sudden appearance today disrupted all of Jiang Sui's plans.
"Qing Qing, can you change your clothes first?"
Jiang Sui's voice was soft, and he looked at the girl gravely. The corners of her dry eyes held a hazy expression, as if she was tired from crying for so long.
She stared at him blankly.
Jiang Sui took Su Qing's finger and led her into the bedroom. He found a clean set of pajamas, women's, with the tags still on. Then, he grabbed a towel and left.
After closing the door, Jiang Sui pulled out his phone to make a call, but he put it away first and stood quietly outside.
After making sure the girl had no any dangerous thing on her, he dared to come out.
After three or five minutes, Jiang Sui reached out and knocked on the door.
"Are you done, Qing Qing?"
Following his voice, the girl pushed the door open. Her hair was still damp, blowing freely. Jiang Sui paid no mind, simply leaning over to get a towel and wipe Su Qing's hair.
Su Qing didn't resist, letting Jiang Sui wipe her hair.
The girl sitting on the sofa seemed to have found no outlet for her feelings, her fingertips as cold as ever.
"I'm upset, Jiang Sui. I'm really upset. You don't know what I saw."
She didn't even have the right to call the police.
How could those photos be released to the public?
Su Qing wouldn't allow it, her emotions fluttering.
Jiang Sui put down the towel and gently comforted her, "No, Qing Qing, what you saw won't be known to anyone."
He seemed to understand the girl's comforting words.
Su Qing looked at Jiang Sui with a somewhat bewildered expression, her eyes misty.
"Really?"
As Jiang Sui nodded, the girl tilted her head and stared at him with a somewhat sad look.
"But how do you know, Jiang Sui?"
She wasn't stupid. Even when she was half-conscious, she grasped the key points. He was like a worm in her stomach, knowing exactly what she was thinking.
Why did he say wouldn't be known to anyone...
"Jiang Sui, why are you there?"
The coincidences were so unbelievable that Su Qing refused to believe them.
With a clearer expression, Su Qing looked at him, her blazing eyes, misty with water droplets, completely enveloping Jiang Sui.
"Because I missed you, I came all the way from Jiangcheng to see you."
The boy's eyes were sincere, his thin lips a gorgeous color, so beautiful, and the words he spoke were incredibly touch heart.
"Really?"
Su Qing looked at Jiang Sui.
Jiang Sui looked at Su Qing.
The two of them stared at each other, and the boy nodded.
Jiang Sui, having finally managed to protect the fragile glass, finally broke. He couldn't bear to make Su Qing cry anymore, and those tears dripped drop by drop into his heart.
It hurt like a knife.
"Didn't you lie to me?"
"I didn't lie to you."
He truly missed her. Jiang Sui wanted to hug the girl, but remembering he was still wet, he remained half-crouched, gazing at her with a reverent, almost admiring gaze.
"Don't be afraid, I'm here."
At that moment, Su Qing felt that all truth can be revealed, and she believed it.
