She didn't expect he could actually cook.
Su Qing pursed her lips and sat on the dining chair, watching the boy bring out the boiled noodles and eggs. Her brows paused for a moment, then she smiled.
"I'll make better ones next time."
Jiang Sui looked at the boiled noodles in his hands with some embarrassment. The fried egg was passable; he'd been experimenting with this for a long time, and finally, he could give it to her.
It's just that he couldn't master the other complicated dishes in a short time, so he had to make that with what he had.
"Okay."
Su Qing's bright eyes shone at him, eating in small bites and giving Jiang Sui a thumbs-up.
After finishing her meal, Su Qing wanted to take the initiative to wash the dishes, but Jiang Sui didn't give her the option. Instead, he told her to change cloth.
She could never get pass by Jiang Sui.
She called Su Rao, saying she'd be home late a bit today. After changing, Su Qing sat on the sofa, waiting for Jiang Sui.
She didn't have to wait long; the young man came out, dressed.
In his closet, he had a section dedicated to clothes he'd bought for herself. There were many styles for spring, summer, autumn, and winter, all with the labels still on, in her size.
Whether intentional or not, the young man noticed she was wearing a white sweatshirt, then deliberately donned a black outfit.
Standing tall, his handsome and dignified demeanor accentuated his presence. He slowly approached her, placing his slender hand in front her eyes.
"Qing Qing, let's go out."
Su Qing paused for a few seconds before placing her hand in his palm. The young man's palm was cool, not exactly warm, but it gave Su Qing a sense of security.
As he led her out, the door locked, and he pointed to a spot under the carpet.
"Qing Qing, here's a key. You can come anytime you want."
Before Su Qing could pause, the young man took her hand and walked out the door.
The sky was clear and bright, a brilliant blue sky, so transparent and bright.
They were heading to Jiangcheng, to find Pei Dai. Previously, Pei Dai had suggested that if there were any doubts, the best way to break through would be Su Qing, as she knew the whole situation best.
Jiang Sui, however, was reluctant. When Pei Dai heard that Jiang Sui was bringing Su Qing to see him, he was quite surprised.
How could this boy change his mind?
Sunday seemed to drag on.
Su Qing felt an indescribable nervousness at the airport, a feeling that made her impatient, but he slowly calmed herself, as if aware of her emotional fluctuations.
The young man sat beside her.
"Get some sleep, we'll be there soon."
Jiang Sui asked the flight attendant for a blanket and covered Su Qing with it. His gentle and handsome demeanor drew a few glances. Su Qing blushed softly, a choked "Okay" coming from her throat.
Perhaps because the young man was by her side, Su Qing felt so at ease. She planned to take a nap, but unexpectedly, she actually fell asleep.
It felt warm and powerful.
"Qing Qing, wake up."
It wasn't until the plane landed that Jiang Sui gently woke the girl beside him. Su Qing's sleepy eyes, her expression of trust in him, brought a hint of smile to Jiang Sui's features.
"Are we there yet?" The girl's voice was hoarse, fresh from waking. She looked at herself obediently, resting her head on Jiang Sui's shoulder, her cheeks a touch pink.
Seeing Jiang Sui nod, Su Qing lifted her head from his shoulder, and the boy opened a bottle of water for her.
"Drink something first, we're getting off the plane."
He unscrewed the bottle of water and placed it near Su Qing's mouth.
Is he going to feed her...
Su Qing was a little dazed, watching the flight attendant who had just taken away the blanket, and the people waiting in line in the aisle, all staring at her silently.
"I'll drink it myself..." The girl's soft voice sounded a little uneasy. She lowered her head and took the water, feeling her ears burning.
She didn't dare look up.
The boy didn't seem to care. He simply slung his backpack over his shoulder, his eyes fixed on Su Qing.
The boy placed the finished water in his backpack and pulled her up. Su Qing blushed slightly, pressing against the boy's chest.
"Jiang Sui..."
After calling the boy's name, she didn't know what else to say.
"What's wrong? Are you feeling unwell?"
The boy seemed to have cared for her countless times, and he didn't see anything wrong with it. He placed his palm on her forehead.
He asked her if she felt nauseous or had tinnitus.
Su Qing pursed her lips, shook her head, and her face turned even redder.
He held the umbrella handle out to her, afraid she'd get sunburned. Actually, Su Qing wasn't some pampered princess at all; it was just Jiang Sui who seemed to treat her like the most pampered little princess.
They took a taxi to the coffee shop they'd agreed to meet at. Actually, this wasn't the place Pei Dai had originally planned to meet at. After all, this was a case, so they had to go somewhere serious, inside the police station. But the young man repeatedly requested a less serious atmosphere, something more relaxed.
Why did Pei Dai compromise? Perhaps it was because he saw Jiang Sui's sincere eyes, which reminded him of himself in past.
Aren't all the people in the Mei family supposed to be in love? Why wasn't she?
While Pei Dai was distracted, he caught sight of Jiang Sui's familiar, handsome face, leaning over and speaking to Su Qing.
The girl, dressed in a pale white tracksuit and white shoes, had a clean face, unblemished by a speck of dust, and her eyes were calm and composed.
She seemed taller, and Pei Dai would never forget that look.
A thin figure rushed in, claiming the truth was not what it seemed.
With almost no one believing her, she calmly and confidently recounted everything.
Though nothing came of it.
Yet, she was so fearless. At this moment, the girl was held hand by Jiang Sui.
Su Qing hadn't expected Jiang Sui to bring her to a coffee shop. Listening to the boy's comforting words, Su Qing began to understand. Perhaps this coffee shop was his request.
"Qing Qing, if anything happens, if anything makes you uncomfortable, or if you don't want to talk anymore, then you stop right away understand?"
The boy, always worried about her getting hurt and considering her feelings, had said these words countless times since they got off the plane. It seemed like he could never finish them, repeating them tirelessly over and over again.
Su Qing, taking a rare initiative, pinched Jiang Sui's fingers.
"Okay, I know."
Her eyes were so gentle and powerful, as if they could dissolve all suffering. With such determination, she approached Pei Dai.
"Hello, Officer Pei, I'm Su Qing."
Jiang Sui stood beside Su Qing, holding her hand protectively, never letting go.
