Chapter 22 - Chapter 22: One person suffering was far better than two

Doflamingo dismissed Buffalo's words without concern. As long as Law hadn't been abducted by outsiders, he didn't care.

In his eyes, Abel and Law were already part of the family.

He shifted the conversation to business. "Our next target is Rakesh. Those townspeople grovel before us while secretly colluding with other organizations. These traitors must pay the price!"

Betrayal was Doflamingo's greatest hatred, and the murderous intent in his eyes was barely concealed.

Just then, someone pushed the door open, startling everyone at the table.

"We're eating. Get him out of here," Giolla said, glaring at Law's filthy appearance. He was about to order someone to remove the boy when Doflamingo stopped him.

"Leave him be."

"Huh?"

"As long as he doesn't want to leave, let him stay."

Doflamingo's attitude was now clear to everyone.

Trebol immediately chuckled, "Behehehe~ Corazon really put you through the wringer after you arrived here, didn't he?"

Diamante, seemingly eager to see Law leave, continued to pressure him. "Whether they're adults or children, anyone who can't endure eventually slinks away in shame. The ones who remain are the elite, one in a hundred. How long do you think a brat like you, who's never even seen a Devil Fruit, can last? Three days? Five?"

But Law paid no attention to their words.

"I absolutely won't leave!"

"Your threats don't scare me. I've seen hell with my own eyes and clawed my way out."

Sensing something, Doflamingo suddenly warned Law, "Leaving or staying is your choice, of course. But Corazon is my most precious younger brother. If anyone dares to harm him in the slightest, I'll take their life."

Law gritted his teeth. If he could, he would have killed Corazon right then and there!

Even after Doflamingo's warning, he didn't take it too seriously, clinging to the hope that he wouldn't be discovered. After all, he didn't have much time left anyway. If he didn't deal with Corazon, everything else was meaningless.

At that moment, he suddenly missed Abel terribly.

If Abel hadn't been injured, he would have definitely come up with a way to deal with that bastard!

Yet, at the same time, he didn't want to involve Abel.

One person suffering was far better than two.

Just as he was lost in thought, Machvise, a towering figure with bulging muscles and a red hat, suddenly noticed the white patches on Law's skin. "Hmm? What's wrong with this kid's skin... How disgusting."

Seeing this, Giolla immediately panicked, shouting hysterically, "It's Amber Lead Syndrome! If we get infected, it'll be a disaster!"

"Ah? A contagious disease? How repulsive! You and that guy better get out of here right now!"

Buffalo, terrified, pressed himself against the wall, his face drenched in cold sweat. Driven by selfish motives, he saw this as an opportunity to get rid of Abel as well.

Bang!

Doflamingo slammed his fist on the table, his face contorted with fury.

"Giolla! Stop spouting nonsense you overheard! You're embarrassing yourself."

"Amber Lead Syndrome is nothing more than poisoning. It's not contagious at all."

His true anger stemmed not from the discrimination against Abel and Law, but from his utter disdain for having such foolish "family" members who actually believed the World Government's propaganda meant to deceive the common masses.

Seeing Doflamingo's genuine fury, everyone immediately calmed down, Giolla paling with embarrassment.

Only the dim-witted Buffalo remained skeptical, warning Law, "Just in case, you brat, stay away from me from now on."

Law sneered inwardly. 'Who'd want to get close to a fat idiot like you anyway?'

He simply grabbed a plate of meat from the table and retreated to a corner, where he began stuffing his face with ravenous abandon.

This time, no one stopped him, and no one dared to whisper.

Though many present couldn't understand why Doflamingo had taken in Law and another similarly afflicted child, now that it was a fait accompli, it was best not to test Young Master Doflamingo's patience.

Thus, this treacherous crisis was resolved invisibly.

But the real trouble was far from over.

Soon, Corazon finished eating and left the room.

Law, completely absorbed in his meal, didn't notice the danger approaching. By the time he realized what was happening, he was already airborne, crashing through the window and being thrown outside once again.

"Corazon! I'll kill you! Just you wait!"

Law stood outside, his face twisted in fury, his composure shattered as he roared in anger.

Corazon, however, paid him no attention whatsoever, completely ignoring Law.

As for the others dining in the room, they all pretended not to hear a thing.

After all, this was the first time they'd ever seen someone so openly threaten to kill Doflamingo's own brother.

If it were just empty words, that would be one thing. But if Law actually harmed Corazon...

Surely no one could possibly think Doflamingo's earlier warning was just a joke, right?

Meanwhile, in the medical room...

After enjoying the little girl's attentive feeding service, a certain scumbag casually dismissed her with a flimsy excuse.

Talk about ruthless! He'd kick you to the curb the moment he got what he wanted. Pfft!

Okay, it wasn't quite that dramatic.

The truth was, he'd already extracted most of the information he needed from Baby-5. If he pressed further, Doflamingo would likely grow suspicious of his motives.

Another reason was that the task he was about to undertake required absolute privacy.

Just moments ago, Abel had initiated the search.

[Searching for Wish Orders... Search complete!]

Abel suddenly started searching for Wish Orders because the 72-hour deadline was fast approaching. If he didn't use his free search attempt today, it would be completely wasted.

Besides, he wasn't entirely unprepared.

Baby-5 was his ultimate backup!

He believed that as long as the item wasn't too rare, he could ask Baby-5 to obtain it for him quickly.

But when he saw the order details, he was quite surprised.

After much deliberation, he finally decided...
