Chapter 186 - SEEKING FOR ADVICE

"You can punch a wall all you want, Nyra, but some truths don't break. They break you until you accept them."

I was not expecting anyone when I stormed into the office again. Honestly, I thought I would have the place to myself. A quiet desk to slam my fists on, another stack of maps to glare at until I burn holes in them. The last thing I expected was Kael sitting calmly in Alaric's chair, legs crossed, sipping tea like he owned the place.

"Morning, storm cloud," he greeted without looking up, flipping a page in the book balanced on his knee. "You look like you haven't slept a wink."

I froze in the doorway. "What the hell are you doing here?"

"Working," Kael said simply, as though it was obvious. "This is an office. People use it for work, you know. You should try it sometime instead of stomping around like you are auditioning to be the castle's resident thunderstorm."

I scowled, stalking inside. "This is Alaric's office. Not yours."
