Chapter 197 - HELL SPAWN?

MARCUS POV

My paws were still buzzing from the run back, not in the satisfying, good-sprint kind of way. More like the I just brushed shoulders with hell and hell winked back kind of way. It sat under my skin like static, a low-voltage tremor that refused to burn out. The kind of tremor that made you want to tear your own fur out just to feel something else.

I had not shifted yet, and none of us had. Wolves held form longer when they were rattled. The body clung to the beast because it felt safer there, hidden under fur and teeth and instinct. It is easier to be an animal when the world goes feral on you.
