Ivy's POV

I closed my eyes as the nurse switched out my IV bag. The cold rush of saline and lupine flooded my veins, working to counteract the wolfsbane in my system. The doctor and nurse began treating my wounds, which weren't healing—exactly as I'd planned. I might have made the cuts deeper than necessary, but believability was crucial now.

"Fuck," the doctor muttered, looking up at me with concern.

I offered a small smile in return. The nurse, realizing her gloves and gown were contaminated, quickly changed into fresh ones. While they worked, I mentally flipped through the book of shadows I'd been memorizing, searching for a specific spell. I needed something undetectable that could seal a room.

Focusing on the bathroom door, I held out my hand and whispered, "Selta sealter bog forshire." Despite lacking the traditional components—no fire, no supplies—I felt the magic settle over the door. Relief washed through me.
