Chapter 23 - Shadow vs. Commander

The battlefield lay strewn with defeated minions, shadows curling around my feet like victorious serpents.

Yet a presence loomed beyond the horizon — powerful, commanding, and impossible to ignore.

[SYSTEM ALERT: Enemy Leader Detected — Threat Level Extreme]

[Suggested Action: Assess Capabilities & Prepare Tactical Countermeasures]

From the distant ridge, a figure emerged. Black armor glimmered with crimson veins of energy, eyes glowing with predatory intelligence. Every movement radiated control — this was no ordinary opponent.

The silver-haired woman's blade twitched instinctively.

— That's their leader… she said softly, eyes sharp. "And he's more dangerous than all the rest combined."

Arlena stepped forward, energy surging in sync with mine.

[HINT: Ally Coordination — Maximum Tactical Efficiency]

I allowed the shadows to stretch, probing, surrounding, analyzing.

[DARKNESS AUTHORITY — Tactical Mode: Full Engagement]

[Shadow Overlord: Autonomous Control Active]

The enemy leader's aura radiated, and the ground trembled as he advanced. Minions rallied behind him, but the shadows reacted instantaneously, forming barriers, intercepting attacks, and striking back with precision.

I moved like a phantom, crimson eyes burning. Shadow Echo replicated every strike, while Abyssal Command coordinated shadows to intercept the enemy leader's force and the minions simultaneously.

The silver-haired woman and Arlena struck in perfect synchronization, exploiting every opening created by the shadows.

[REWARD: Shadow Overlord Mastery +5%, New Skill Unlocked: Shadow Dominion — temporarily dominate enemy minions' movements]

The enemy leader paused, assessing the battlefield, clearly impressed yet cautious. His minions faltered under the subtle control of my shadows, their coordination breaking.

[SYSTEM ALERT: Tactical Advantage Achieved — Probability of Victory 74%]

Crimson eyes met his, and I allowed the shadows to tighten, pressing the enemy into a controlled chokehold.

— You move well… I muttered, voice low, letting the darkness speak.

The silver-haired woman smiled faintly, Arlena remained alert but calm.

The predator of shadows had asserted dominance once again.

The battle was far from over, but one thing was clear: even leaders feared the storm I had become.
