Chapter 1 - Chapter 1

Zessia is a handsome silver dragon.

Although it is not yet an adult, its wingspan is already eight meters wide. The silver scales on its slender neck sparkle with a luxurious and charming brilliance in the sun. Its golden eyes make all the female dragons in the Dragon Valley blush and their hearts beat fast.

But it itself is not happy about this.

"Ah, the dawn sun has already shone on the earth, but the knight is still rushing on the road, and the thorns hinder his steps."

Day after day, it perches on the highest cliff of the Dragon Valley, holding its chin and looking at the horizon with melancholy.

"The castle is behind him, and his resolute eyes only see the distance."

The strong dragon tail swept the rocks on the cliff boredly, almost throwing the flying fire dragon Ryan off.

"Zessia! Can you please stop reciting this crap all the time? The Middle Ages are hundreds of years old!"

Ryan, transforming into a human, cursed.

Chris, the crystal dragon following behind him, hesitated and said, "Yeah, there aren't any knights anymore. Grandpa Ode told us on TV that armies are now armed..."

Morning light shone on Zessia's face. She turned her head, her beautiful silver scales and golden eyes revealing a touch of sadness.

It shook its head. "My dear friends, there's no need to comfort me. I know deep down that the Knights haven't disappeared. It's us, me, who's been forgotten..."

Ryan nearly vomited at his bitterness. He angrily ruffled his short red hair and cursed:

"Us, damn it! How good would it be if there weren't Knights to conquer us? Who wants to be ridden around by those puny humans? I'd burst into flames if I took off myself! How could they handle it!"

Chris nodded repeatedly. "I don't want to be strangled and sprayed with frost either. It's too harsh on my throat. I still want to be a singing host online. I can show up occasionally and get lots of tips."

His human form had beautiful short, light-white hair, and even his eyelashes looked like they were covered in ice crystals. Even without makeup, he stood at the pinnacle of beauty on the human internet.

Zesia glanced at his friends in silence, then sighed silently.

There was a fundamental difference between a noble dragon like him, one who cherished the honor of his race and the pride of his ancestors, and ordinary dragons who only sought pleasure. He believed his knight would cross mountains and seas, crush thorns, defeat the demon king, and ultimately reach his side...

"Bang!"

The moment the loud bang rang out, the silver scales on Zeshia's neck exploded, and with a mighty roar, they flew off the cliff!

Ryan and Chris, still chattering away, froze at the sound. When Zeshia's figure completely disappeared from sight, they looked at each other with horrified expressions:

"The barrier of Dragon Valley... has been broken?!"

"Fuck! Go tell Grandpa Ode!"

Lu Cai struggled to move his limbs, feeling as if his internal organs were about to shatter. He slowly climbed to his feet.

He still clutched the antique iron sword he'd salvaged from the black market. His team had been cornered by monsters in battle, and he desperately tried to save himself, hoping to draw on the blood and energy of the old sword to energize his mana and increase his summoning success rate. But it seemed he'd overreached, and was swept directly into the turbulent flow of space and time.

Fuck…

Lu Cai used the sword as a crutch, propped it on the ground, and shakily straightened up, looking around—

A completely unfamiliar environment, but the plants were predominantly ancient.

Had he been struck back by the summoning circle and transported to South America?

Unheard of, a major mistake.

He scowled, suspecting there might be a Foundation contact point in South America. He pulled his phone from his pocket, but it showed no signal.

When bad luck strikes, nothing goes right.

Lu Cai was trying to calm himself down when a sudden rustling sound came from the dense forest not far away.

His muscles tensed instantly, Lu Cai gripped his sword tightly, and formed a spell with his left hand.

He wasn't sure if anything else had been transported along with the summoning circle, besides himself. But if any monster appeared, Lu Cai had to quickly eliminate it to survive.

The creature seemed to sense his murderous intent, and all movement vanished in the next moment, leaving only a small puddle nearby, its ripples quiet and shimmering.

Lu Cai, having long engaged in battles with demonic entities, wouldn't be fooled by simple illusions. Based on just the brief encounter, he had already made his assessment—

The opponent was substantial, corporeal, and had already noticed him. His motives were unclear; perhaps he was seeking prey or parasitism, but in any case, he possessed a certain level of intelligence.

Danger Assessment Level: B.

Thus, Lu Cai's combat stance remained unchanged. He even relied on his intuition to determine the opponent's position, proactively approaching step by step.

Earth was no longer the human hotbed it once was. Due to the sudden eruption of dark matter, the original world order and laws had been devastated, and many bizarre creatures and phenomena were appearing frequently.

The Foundation, born in this environment, discreetly executed these monsters that used humans as their nests and food.

Lu Cai was a top member of the Foundation's Chinese region, having slain at least several thousand monsters, if not ten thousand. Therefore, single-handedly killing a corporeal opponent was a familiar task for him.

After determining his final position and strategy, Lu Cai took a deep breath and abruptly transformed his left hand technique—

"Strong Pressure!"

Air currents with the power to crush any flesh surged toward the opponent from all directions. Lu Cai leaped lightly into the air and attacked fiercely along with the currents!

"Duang—!!!!"

The sound of the collision spread throughout the small patch of dense forest like sonic waves, crushing entire trees. Even the aggressive Lu Cai was hurled out of range, his eyes dazed!

Oh no!

Lu Cai's face changed drastically. He hadn't expected such a formidable monster to exist here. The danger level had risen to A-level!

The next moment, he struggled to his feet, sword in hand, a slight panic welling up in his heart.

This place hadn't been explored beforehand, and the types of local monsters were unknown. Based on his own misjudgment and the time he'd wasted, the enemy had likely already discovered his weakness and was perhaps already behind him...

Lu Cai spun around abruptly. Dappled sunlight filtered through the empty forest. Water vapor and plant fluff, driven by the Tyndall effect, drifted peacefully across the center of the battleground.

What was going on?

Lu Cai frowned. The enemy's strange, immobile approach made his scalp tingle, but sitting back and waiting for death wasn't his style. After a struggle, he cautiously groped his way back toward the enemy.

The sun was dim, its direction shifting quietly in the silence.

Lu Cai hadn't taken a few steps when he was suddenly blinded by an unknown light. He couldn't help but squint slightly, and then he saw a startling sight—

A massive silver dragon, its beautiful head lowered, quietly crouched among the grass. Its dragon horns, wings, and tail all betrayed the authenticity of a Western dragon.

Its eyes narrowed, revealing only a hint of gold. It seemed utterly frail, its silver scales shimmering brilliantly, beautifully making it look like a harmless elf.

But Lu Cai had no time to dwell on these things. He shuddered as he recalled the attack. He had clearly been spitting blood from the blows, proving the dragon's hide armor's immense defensive power. And now, it looked as if the dragon hadn't sustained a single wound...

Why did it still look so weak?

Did it... hit its brain?

Will it attack even more frantically and indiscriminately once it regained consciousness?

Lu Cai couldn't grasp the dragon's intentions. After a long wait for no movement, Zeshia, unable to bear it any longer, raised its proud head and said in a feigned weakness:

"You win, knight. I allow you to become my dragon rider, riding on my back to conquer the lands."

Lu Cai: "..."

Silence was the unfamiliar forest at noon today.

Zeshia was anxious. What was going on? It had already feigned defeat, so why hadn't this person come over to tame it?!

After a moment's thought, it repeated, "Don't be afraid. We noble dragons lose when we lose. We're not like you humans who play hard to get and launch surprise attacks."

But the human before it remained motionless.

Did the demon king knock this knight silly on the way here?

Zesshia grew even more anxious, but worried that if she forced herself on, she would scare off the knight, the first to appear on the island in centuries. So, patiently, she planned to teach the man step by step how to ride on her back...

But before it could figure out how to move, a familiar scent filled the air. The wingbeats were drastically matching the dragon's breath.

Zesshia immediately glanced at the human, and sure enough, his expression was one of surprise and fear!

Oh no! He's definitely going to be scared away!!!

The next second, Zeshia couldn't bear it anymore and suddenly leaped from the ground, the sunlight reflecting off its scales with an incredibly dazzling brilliance!

When the rest of the dragon clan arrived, they saw Zeshia, scales flaring, standing before a human, shouting with a righteous and fearless devotion:

"My loved ones! Please stop!"

Ryan and Chris were the first to stop, indescribably shocked to see Zeshia actually touch the sword-wielding human. It was the human expression... That looked unusual.

 Zeshia continued shouting:

"I know this all came too suddenly. You may not understand or accept it, but we, the noble dragon race, are born to conquer the world. Our ancestors even forged an eternal pact of life and death with the original dragon riders. This is worthy of the praise of every dragon!"

The dragons stopped opposite Zeshia. Besides her two friends, there were also several elderly elders. Chris was stunned and was about to call out to Zeshia, but Zeshia ruthlessly interrupted him:

"I know you may not believe it yet, and you don't want to be controlled by humans again, but I have been defeated. I have become this human's dragon. So today, I have no choice but to stand against you. If you seek to harm my knight, I will definitely..."

"Zesshia!"

Grandpa Ode, the oldest, could no longer bear it and shouted at Zeshia, "Your knight ran away." Zeshia was about to fight back, but was stunned by what he said and immediately turned his neck. Oh my God! Where is its dragon knight? It has been waiting for more than a hundred years. Where is such a big dragon knight?
