Chapter 11 - Chapter 11:Renewed Reslve

As I went through the photos, i came across the same woman the one i suspected of being my mother but her appearance was a little different. Previously, the lady in question's hair had been red, and now it was pitch black.

The rest were business letters and promotion letters, and lastly, there was the ring.

As I picked up the ring, visions rushed into my mind, visions of memories, memories that weren't mine . They were scattered and in no particular order, but i was certain they belonged to father. .

The ring was a small gold ring with a blue gem in the middle. Taking a closer look at the gem, i noticed it matched my necklace, just like the orb did. In my vision, he was wearing the ring, happily laughing with a woman. The woman's face was not clear, but maybe, just maybe, it was my mother. Aunt did say this necklace belongs to my mother If only I could find a photo of someone wearing this necklace i would have gotten a step closer.

I searched the whole place, looking for something else to add to what I had found, something else to trigger my ability to see visions. My time was limited, i couldn't be caught here, not right now. Investigate the ring, comes first at least just for some time, before finally facing father.

Quickly I put everything back in place, but took the ring with me, with hope that he wouldn't notice. Now that I think of it what is my father's name? All the promotion letters i saw either had the name torn out or erased.

Who exactly is he?

I made my way back to aunt's house, leaving no evidence behind. It was already quite dark, but as usual the house remained as bright as day. The whole house worked in ways i couldn't understand, unlike my father's house, which was always pitch black at night, all we had was a small coal lamp, which barely lit up anywhere.

Sitting in the library, i thought of everything I had discovered today, no idea what i was going to do, no clue and no way forward. All i had was the ring and I still wasn't sure what to do with it.

Holding the ring up, I examined it carefully. Maybe I had missed something. As the ring got close to my necklace, it started to glow. I pulled the ring away, and the glow stopped, then brought it back up, and the glow continued.

I repeated the process a few times, like a little child who had discovered a new game. "Uh huh! I knew there was a connection! But wait, what does the glow even mean?

At this point my head began to hurt from thinking too much, to an extent that steam began to fill the room. I should go to go to bed and continue the search tomorrow.

The next day began was a cold and windy morning. I went down to the secret room to go through the books, maybe I would find some information on my necklace or the ring.

The first day passed and i found nothing. So did the next day, and the day after that, until a whole week had passed, and still nothing. I can't take this anymore not a piece of information . A full week, a whole seven days and seven nights, gone and still nothing.

The room was now boiling hot. Even my sweat was starting to evaporate and the floor was starting to burn. This emotion thing is really getting on my nerves.

I got up and ran upstairs to get some air, but it was of no use . The heat was unbearable. I even tried to get a glass of water, but the glass melted with a single touch.

My breath was caught in my throat, what should I do?.

Holding my necklace I tried my best to calm down, taking consecutive deep breaths. I rushed to the shower and immersed myself in cold water and slowly, the house started to cool down. "I can't go on like this."

There has to be some other way to control it. I could have died a few minutes ago. Imagine being killed by my emotions . "It's just one problem after the other."

"Maybe I missed something. Should I go back?

I clenched my fist, For some reason, i wasn't afraid. I was going to get what i wanted even if it meant confronting the man that made my life a living hell.

Come to think of it i haven't had a proper meal all week and I'm farmished. I'm craving stew, the flavorful stew that aunt made while she was still here. I loved it so much, the flavor, the aroma, the heavenly balance between spice and herbs. "Well, seems like we're making stew today."

I've seen aunt make the stew a few times, but of course, I've never made it. It shouldn't be too hard.

There i was in the kitchen, trying my best to recreate aunt's dish from nothing but my memory. At last, i was done, and of course, it looked nothing like aunt's. I served myself the stew while sitting at kitchen table. The stew wasn't good, but it wasn't terrible, at the very least, it was edible.

The memories were so clear, memories of aunt serving me the delicious stew as i eagerly waited at the kitchen table. She was after all the only person that cared, the only person that kept me sane.

"Tomorrow, I shall continue my search."

I finished every last drop of stew, washed the dishes and had a bath. Drained and tired i slept off almost immediately I lay on the bed. The night was long and by morning, I was well rested and determined to carry out the day's mission. I got dressed in an orange gown and wore some matching earrings, it went well with my red hair. I stared at myself in front of the mirror for a while and now, "Time for the search."
