Zhai Muchen hated girls who took the initiative to pester him. Since a young age, she could remember the countless occasions when young girls confessed their love to Brother Zhai but were chased away in anger and tears because of his response. There would be no exception this time around either.
"I was just trying to persuade her that since she is already so old, the most important task on hand is to find a man and get married. But I don't know the thoughts of a woman like her. At such an age, when she should be looking for a man to marry and honour her in-laws, she is actually thinking of you. She said that she likes you and wants to stick close to you. She even warned me to stay away by saying that I was too young for you. She also said that she will not let any other woman snatch you away… Brother Zhai…I…I was too muddled-headed and did something wrong in a fit of my anger."
