Chapter 10 - The Cursed Throne

Adam descends from the sky.

Not as a savior.

Not as a god.

As a judge.

He carves a throne from obsidian and memory, placing it atop the ruins of the old Jujutsu Council. It pulses with Divine Flow, bound to the Seventh Eye. But it is not meant for him.

It is meant for the one who can replace him.

He calls it the Trial of Rewrite.

Anyone may attempt it.

But only those who can rewrite without losing themselves may sit.

The first is a warrior named Kaien, born of flame and vengeance. He rewrites his past—erasing the death of his brother.

But the throne rejects him.

His brother returns—but Kaien forgets why he ever fought.

He vanishes.

The second is a healer named Rin, who rewrites her own pain into joy. She passes the first test.

But when asked to rewrite a stranger's grief, she hesitates.

The throne weeps.

She is spared—but marked.

Adam watches.

He begins to doubt.

Maybe no one is worthy.

Maybe the prophecy is inevitable.

Then a child arrives.

Not a sorcerer.

Not a warrior.

Just a boy named Toma, who once watched Adam rewrite a village's fate.

Toma touches the throne.

It glows.

He rewrites nothing.

Instead, he remembers.

He speaks the names of those who died. He honors their pain. He chooses not to change the past—but to carry it.

The throne accepts him.

Adam is stunned.

He realizes: the true heir is not the one who rewrites best—but the one who chooses not to.

He begins training Toma.

Not in cursed energy.

But in restraint.

In empathy.

In memory.

The world watches.

Some call it weakness.

Others call it hope.

Adam begins to fade.

His power wanes.

But his legacy grows.
