Chapter 19 - Power

Solace stood up in the center of his room, his body stretching with an ease that felt almost foreign after the month-long ordeal he had just endured. His muscles were looser, more flexible, the raw power that had built within him during his transformation now fully integrated into his being. He moved with a fluidity that signaled something much stronger than before.

He glanced down at the red ring on his finger, its glow faint but present. It was a symbol of his newly acquired Phoenix bloodline, and its strange energy pulsed under his skin.

"So, how can I use this blood ring or whatever?" he asked, his voice calm but with a touch of curiosity as he inspected the red adornment.

[Well, it will allow you to control the blood of your targets. However, it's not as effective as having a true blood affinity. It will not work on those stronger than you either.]

Solace nodded thoughtfully, the implications of the ring now clearer. He could control the blood of his enemies—a tool that was certainly useful, but not as powerful as it could be if he had an actual blood affinity. However, the idea of manipulating life itself was still intriguing. There was potential in this ability—control was everything.

He turned away from the ring and walked toward the door, his mask still on, hidden beneath the newly invigorated form of his body. He could feel the weight of the transformation, the new power that hummed under his skin. His eyes were clearer now, more focused than before. This was just the beginning.

"How long was I out?" he asked, his tone indifferent.

[An entire month. A month since you committed a small massacre... I'm sure your disappearance caused some suspicions.]

"Who cares..." Solace muttered, the words falling from his lips like an afterthought. "I won't be here much longer anyway."

The kingdom was already beginning to stir in response to the assassinations he had carried out during the night of his transformation. He knew the royal family would be scrambling, trying to make sense of the chaos. But Solace had no intention of sticking around. His path was already set—he had gained the power, now he needed to use it.

Taking a confident step forward, he reached for the door. With a quiet click, it swung open, and Solace stepped into the hallway.

"Show my status screen as well," he ordered, his voice steady and commanding.

[Status Screen]

Name: Solace

Race: Aethernal (Phoenix Bloodline Assimilated)

Level: 200

Affinities: Fire, Space, Shadow

Bloodline Abilities: Recursion(Sealed) Regeneration(Sealed)

Skills: Abyssal Eye of Infinity, Swap, Shadow Bind

Solace's eyes scanned the screen quickly, taking in the details. The Phoenix bloodline was now a permanent part of him, his level had risen to 200, and his affinities had expanded. He now controlled Fire, Space, and Shadow—each one of them providing a wide range of abilities that would allow him to manipulate not just his surroundings but also time and space if he so chose.

The Blood Control Ring intrigued him the most. The power to control others' blood was a subtle, yet powerful tool that would give him an upper hand in battles that required finesse rather than brute strength.

[Your powers have increased significantly, but there are still many challenges ahead. Although the Phoenix bloodline assimilated perfectly you won't be able to use the full regeneration just yet. Once you shed your mortality, your bloodline abilities will become unsealed.]

Solace stood still, the cool breeze from the hallway brushing against his face. It felt as though everything had shifted, as if the world was now waiting for him to make his next move. The Phoenix bloodline had changed him—no longer was he just another player in the royal games, but a force in his own right.

He made up his mind. He would stick around for a while longer. The royal family, the Fire Dragons, and the rest of the kingdom had no idea what was coming. But Solace wasn't in a hurry. He was here to learn, to understand exactly how far his power could reach in this new world. The royal intrigues, the battles for control, and the schemes unfolding around him would be his playground.

Solace walked through the hallways, stepping outside into the bright sunlight. The palace grounds stretched out before him, the lush gardens and open courtyards filled with people going about their day. Everything seemed normal on the surface, but Solace could feel the shifting tides of power beneath.

He had no intention of making any immediate moves. The assassinations had caused enough of a stir for now. He needed to lay low, observe, and see who would make their next move.

A smile flickered beneath his mask. It was time to see exactly what the Kingdom of Solara had up its sleeve.
