Chapter 1 - A ray of life

Bella blinked twice, trying to grasp the surreal reality before her eyes. She could hardly believe that she might...

might?

she is already on the path of the path of the dead, even without her consent to embark on the journey.

She bad tried her best by taking it all without complain, the endless cycle of torture from him,the hateful eyes from the one that worked below him and the heart pain the people she once called her family had caused her.

Now that she had gotten rid of the blindfold of love she could finally understand why he never once had an ounce of respect for her although they were betrothed to one another

Her gaze met the eyes of her tormentor, the man who had become her entire world, now pointing a gun at her. She smiled through her agony, a bitter, twisted smile. How could she question him, after all, he had done for her? Even if he was cruel, he treated her better than her own father, who had placed her for sale in the black market.

Her demise as she love to call him. Who needed an enem y when he was present in a person's life? She wondered still trying to catch her breath.

"No wonder he never cared" she scoffed.

She opened her mouth hoping for words to come forth but none did.

she had been holding on for too long, she smiled to herself and the thought of the torment she had gone through finally coming to an end, although she wished it were all just a bad dream.

A sharp sting pierced her right shoulder. She glanced down to see her sleeve soaking up the hot, thick blood seeping from the wound. Taking a deep breath, she closed her eyes, bracing herself for the end. She could bear no more pain, no more torment. Yet, nothing happened.

Opening her eyes slowly, she saw him struggling, the gun tossed across the room. She wanted to run, to escape, but her body wouldn't obey. Relief washed over her as he left the room, but her gratitude was premature. The door creaked open again, revealing someone she never hoped to see even on her deaths bed. A sinister smirk laying on her lips as she closed the distance between then

"Hello, dearest sister," She cooed, advancing with a mocking sweetness. Their relationship was anything but sisterly; it was a bitter rivalry.

"Are you in pain?" She sked, feigning concern with a pout. Bella saw through the charade.

"No worries, I'll make the pain go away," She whispered, producing a gun. Bella, still immobilized, watched in horror. Ella pulled out a bottle of greenish liquid, her smirk widening.

"Wondering why you can't move?" She taunted even more "It's because of this. I added it to your food. My perfect plan, ruined by your lover boy."

Her face twisted in mock disappointment. "All I wanted was to become queen mafia and make you my slave. But no, you always had to look at me with disgust and blame me for everything."

Her voice dripped with venom as she revealed her hidden bitterness. "You never wanted my love, so I'll send you to your mother."

"W-what did you do to my mother?" Bella asked, her voice barely a whisper.

"Your mother is dead," She said casually. "Guess who killed her? Me. If you had just become my slave, none of this would have happened".

Her tone softened momentarily. "All I wanted was to be queen mafia, and now, I'll be. As for you, you can join your mother and continue your miserable existence in the afterlife."

Her smile turned wicked. "One more thing, GP is dead."

"No… no..you . why?" Bella cried, tears streaming down her face.

"Because he loved you too much and would make you queen," She said, her voice childlike. "You better not survive and come back for answers, or you'll regret it."

Ella's scoff echoed as she pulled the trigger, the bullet piercing Bella's chest. Bella's life flashed before her eyes a life filled with sorrow, injustice, and torment. All she had ever wanted was a normal life, but her destiny seemed sealed.

As darkness enveloped her, Bella wondered if there was any justice, any hope. Could there be happiness, love, safety? Or was life just a cruel game with no escape?

Could she at least grasp a ray of life?

If rebirth truly exists..

Then she'll be back..

But not as the prey..

Therefore those who wronged her should pray they don't become a prey..

Cause the word mercy may seize to exist.
