Chapter 16 - Chapter 16 - Most messed up family tree in history!

Sanji, having recovered his composure, lit a new cigarette, taking a long, thoughtful drag. "So this is where his endless fighting spirit comes from," the cook muttered, exhaling a plume of smoke.

Garp's eyes narrowed at the comment his face unreadable as he turned his full attention back to his grandson. The tension in the workshop was very intense, each Straw Hat member holding their breath, waiting for the next move in this unexpected family reunion.

"There is something else we need to discuss boy" Garp said, his voice dropping lower, losing some of its booming quality but gaining an intensity that made everyone lean in unconsciously. "It is abot your father"

Luffy tilted his head, confusion evident on his face. "Father? What are you talking about Gramps? Does i also have father?."

Garp sighed rubbing his head as if dealing with a particularly stubborn headache. "No, you idiot. I am talking about your father. Have you ever wondered about him?"

The workshop fell completely silent. In all their time together, Luffy had never once mentioned about his father. The Straw Hats had assumed he was either dead, absent, or simply not part of Luffy's life worth mentioning.

Nami facepalmed so hard it echoed slightly in the quiet room. Usopp's jaw dropped, and even Robin looked momentarily surprised by Luffy's complete lack of knowledge about his own parentage.

Garp actually chuckled at his grandson's obliviousness, though it was a humorless sound. "Of course you have a father, you brat! Everyone has a father! I am also surprised you never asked about him."

Luffy shrugged, still rubbing his cheek where Garp had hit him. "I had you and Ace and Sabo and Dadan and the bandits. That was enough family for me."

For a brief moment, something akin to regret flashed across Garp's face before his Marine training forced it back under his stern exterior. "Well, it is time for you to know about him. I think you might have met him, actually. In Loguetown"

"His name," Garp continued, his voice dropping even lower, as if afraid the walls themselves might be listening, "is Monkey D. Dragon 'The revolutionary'"

The name hung in the air for a moment before its significance truly hit them.

The effect was instantaneous. Usopp let out a strangled cry and fainted dead away, hitting the floor with a thud. Chopper shrieked and scrambled behind Zoro for protection. Franky's jaw dropped so low it nearly hit his chest.

Sanji's cigarette fell from his lips. "Wait a minute! You're telling me that Luffy's grandfather is a Marine hero and his father is the most wanted criminal in the world? How does that even make sense?!"

Luffy, meanwhile, looked more confused than ever.

Franky whistled lowly. "Talk about a dysfunctional family! A Marine hero grandfather, a revolutionary father, and a pirate grandson who's declared war on the World Government. That's gotta be the most messed up family tree in history!"

Sanji had finally recovered enough to light another cigarette. "No wonder you're so tough, Luffy. With a grandfather who throws you into jungles to fight wild beasts and a father who is taking on the entire World Government. you never stood a chance of being normal."

Garp's expression darkened as he looked at his grandson. "This is exactly why I never told you Luffy. Your father's path is one of chaos and destruction. He seeks to overthrow the entire world order and he is dragging countless innocent people into his war."

The Straw Hats exchanged glances, a new understanding dawning among them. Luffy wasn't just their captain, a boy with a dream of finding the One Piece. He was the grandson of a Marine hero, the son of the world's most dangerous revolutionary, and a man who had unknowingly inherited a legacy of conflict from both sides of his family.

"What is wrong with this family?" Nami muttered, echoing everyone's thoughts. "No wonder you're so completely insane, Luffy. You come from a long line of people who charge headfirst into impossible situations."

Luffy, however, had finally processed the information, and a wide grin spread across his face. "So my dad is super strong, huh? Just like Gramps! That's awesome! I can't wait to meet him properly and see how strong he is!"

Garp facepalmed, groaning in frustration. "That's not the point, you idiot! The point is that you are in danger and you need to be more careful!"

As Garp began to yell at his grandson's complete misunderstanding of the situation, the Straw Hats could only watch in a mixture of amusement and horror, wondering what other surprises their captain's impossible family tree might hold.
