Chapter 134 - Helping Sasuke Awaken the Sharingan

Chapter 134 – Helping Sasuke Awaken the Sharingan

Kakashi's expression screamed quiet despair. He didn't need to guess—this had to be another one of his brother's "brilliant" ideas.

"All right, you can tag along with us to the Land of Waves first," he said with a resigned sigh. "Once this mission is done, we'll head back to Konoha."

"Yes, Uncle," Toneri replied politely.

"Uncle, I have one request," he continued softly. "Please don't kill this man. I hope you can spare his life."

Kakashi blinked, then smirked. "Since you're the one asking, I can't really refuse, can I? Fine, take Zabuza with you. Tell him next time he won't be so lucky."

"Thank you," Haku said sincerely, her eyes glimmering with emotion as she looked at Kakashi and Toneri.

Her gaze lingered on the white-haired young man who kept his eyes closed. She wanted to remember him clearly—his presence, his calmness.

"No need to thank me," Toneri said quietly. "It was your kindness that saved you."

With one last glance, Haku lifted Zabuza's unconscious body and disappeared into the mist.

"Come on, Toneri. Let's move out," Kakashi said, motioning for his students to follow.

"Toneri, that was amazing back there! You knocked me out cold with one hit!" Naruto laughed sheepishly, rubbing the back of his neck.

"Ah, that wasn't much," Toneri replied humbly.

Sasuke stayed silent, arms crossed and expression unreadable. Sakura, however, couldn't help but glance at Toneri—he was almost as handsome as Sasuke, maybe even more so.

"Hey, Toneri, your sensei's Kakashi-sensei's big brother, right? He must be insanely strong if Kakashi-sensei's already this powerful," Naruto said curiously.

The mention of big brother made Sasuke's eyes twitch slightly, his focus turning to Toneri.

"Yes. He's very strong," Toneri answered without hesitation. In his eyes, his teacher was the greatest man alive.

"Kakashi-sensei, you have a big brother?" Sakura asked, surprised.

"Yeah. But he's been away for years, always wandering," Kakashi said in his usual lazy tone.

"So, what kind of person is he?" Sakura pressed.

"He's... not someone words can describe," Kakashi replied vaguely.

Sakura frowned. "That's not an answer, Sensei."

"He's someone who has never existed before—and never will again," Kakashi said, his voice turning oddly serious.

Sakura pouted. Sure, sure… someone's definitely idolizing his brother too much, she thought.

Toneri spoke up, "Uncle's right. My father said the same thing about my sensei."

"Your father?" Kakashi asked, intrigued.

"Yes. He once said, 'Sensei is the kind of man who exists only once in all of history. Even the future will never see another like him.'"

"Whoa, that amazing, huh?" Sakura said, skeptical but curious.

"That's not just my opinion," Kakashi said firmly. "That's what every ninja in Konoha believes."

Sakura imagined Hatake Yusuke as a terrifying, eight-foot-tall monster with four arms and glowing eyes. Yeah… definitely some kind of legend, she thought.

A little while later…

"All right, time for training," Kakashi announced. "You three did well on this mission. Sakura, you especially need to push harder."

"Yes, Kakashi-sensei! I'll get stronger!" Sakura said with determination.

"Today's training is... tree climbing."

"Tree climbing? Seriously, Sensei?" Naruto blinked in disbelief.

"Yup. Like this," Kakashi said casually, channeling chakra into his feet and walking up the tree trunk as if gravity didn't exist.

"Your turn. Toneri probably doesn't need to, right?"

"Yes. My training began when I was five," Toneri said calmly.

"What?! Five?!" Naruto shouted.

"That's right. My sensei said training should start early. The moment I could walk, my father took me to meet him," Toneri explained.

Naruto's expression softened. He couldn't help but feel a pang in his chest—he'd spent those years completely alone.

Sasuke, meanwhile, thought of his brother Itachi, and hatred flickered in his eyes. Sakura silently concluded that Toneri's teacher had to be some kind of superhuman.

Kakashi nodded. At their age, he himself had already been close to becoming a Jōnin.

"All right, Toneri, help them out," he said.

"Eh?! You're leaving us with him?" Naruto complained.

"Don't underestimate Toneri. His strength surpasses even Zabuza's," Kakashi said before strolling off like it was nothing.

"What?! That's impossible!" Naruto and Sasuke shouted together.

"What's impossible?" Kakashi replied over his shoulder. "I was the same at your age." And with that, he vanished.

The trio stared blankly after him.

Half an hour later, Toneri stood by as they trained. Only Sakura had managed to climb successfully. Naruto and Sasuke were still struggling.

"Toneri, this is so hard! I can't control my chakra right!" Naruto complained, sliding back down the tree again.

Sasuke just glared, quietly frustrated. Sakura beamed proudly from the top, pleased to finally outshine Sasuke-kun.

"Sakura has a natural affinity for chakra control," Toneri observed. "She's well-suited for Medical Ninjutsu… and the Monster Strength Punch technique."

"The… what punch?" Sakura blinked.

"The signature move of my sensei's wife—Lady Tsunade. It requires incredible chakra precision," Toneri explained.

"Lady Tsunade?! You mean the Tsunade-hime—the Legendary Medical Ninja?!" Sakura gasped.

"Yes."

"Then… can you do it?"

"No," Toneri said honestly. "It's far too precise for me."

Sakura's shoulders slumped.

"Naruto," Toneri said, turning to the blond. "Your chakra reserves are enormous. That's why control is harder for you."

"So… there's no other way?" Naruto asked.

"There is. But it's exhausting. You'll need a strong body to endure it."

"I'll do anything!" Naruto declared confidently.

"Then use the Multiple Shadow Clone Technique. Every clone you create shares your chakra. When they're dispelled, their experiences return to you—but so does the fatigue. For someone with vast chakra, it's the ideal method."

Naruto's eyes sparkled. "Got it!"

"I'll try too," Sasuke said firmly.

Toneri turned toward him. "Come with me."

They walked a short distance away from the others.

"Why here?" Sasuke asked, suspicious.

Without a word, Toneri suddenly punched him in the gut.

"Ugh—what the hell was that for?!" Sasuke growled, clutching his stomach.

"Wind Release: Great Breakthrough!" Toneri formed a rapid sequence of hand signs and unleashed a blast of wind that sent Sasuke skidding backward.

"Fire Release: Fireball Jutsu!" Sasuke countered, but Toneri's wind was stronger. It tore through the flames and forced him back again.

Before Sasuke could recover, Toneri vanished. A split second later, another blow landed from behind.

"Damn it! He's too fast!" Sasuke swung blindly, but every strike missed. Toneri's hits came from every angle—precise, controlled, unrelenting.

"Damn you! I'll kill you!!" Sasuke shouted, fury overtaking reason. His eyes burned, the pupils shifting, spinning. He hurled a kunai toward Toneri, chakra flaring violently.

Toneri deflected it with one hand, calm as ever.

"That's enough," he said, stepping back. "Now you'll understand."

"What the hell does that mean, you bastard?!" Sasuke yelled.

"See for yourself. Naruto's method won't work for you." Toneri nodded toward the ground.

Sasuke frowned, looking down at the reflection of his face in the kunai blade.

Two crimson eyes stared back at him—each marked by a single tomoe.

"This… this is…" Sasuke's voice trembled as he touched his face, realization dawning on him.

Toneri turned and walked away, his white hair fluttering gently in the wind.

So that's the Uchiha's true strength… awakening through pain, he thought silently.

Behind him, Sasuke stood frozen—his new eyes glowing red beneath the pale sunlight.
