Chapter 238 - Hatake Yusuke: “A Kid? Me?”

Chapter 238 — Hatake Yusuke: "A Kid? Me?"

"Now that I think about it," Tsunade suddenly said, her voice quiet but determined. "There's something I've been meaning to ask you—those eyes of yours... can they bring back someone who's already dead?"

Yusuke looked at her calmly. "They can."

Tsunade's eyes immediately widened, a faint glimmer of hope lighting up her face. "Then—"

"You want to bring Nawaki back, don't you?" Yusuke interrupted softly.

Tsunade froze for a moment, then nodded. Her brother—her greatest wound. Long before she and Yusuke had ever opened up to each other, Tsunade often felt a quiet envy toward the brotherly bond Yusuke shared with Kakashi.

"It's possible," Yusuke said with a small, reassuring smile.

"There won't be... any side effects, right?" Tsunade asked anxiously. She knew resurrection techniques demanded impossible power—and if that cost Yusuke's life, she would never allow it.

"Relax," Yusuke said casually. "I can do it anytime, anywhere."

Tsunade's eyes shimmered, tears threatening to fall. "Really?" she whispered, her voice trembling with fragile hope.

"Alright, Tsunade-neechan," Kurenai said gently. "Let's talk about this back home. It's not safe to perform something like that here."

"Yeah... you're right." Tsunade took Yusuke's hand tightly. "Let's go home."

Yusuke smiled faintly. With a flick of his fingers, space twisted around them—and in a flash, they vanished.

"Ah, Tsunade and Kurenai are back," said Sakumo Hatake, sipping his tea calmly on the porch. "And if they're home together… that means that brat's back too."

"True enough," Shinku Yuhi replied with a faint smile. "Come on, let's check on the kid. He promised to bring me the finest sake from outside the village, yet it's been ages and still nothing."

"Him? Keep a promise?" Sakumo sighed, rubbing his temple tiredly. "Impossible. He's been unreliable since the day he was born."

Shinku chuckled quietly. "Funny. The more I see you three together, the more I think—you're all starting to look alike."

The two older men walked toward Yusuke's house.

But the moment they arrived, a surge of enormous chakra filled the air, shaking the ground beneath their feet.

"Hey! You little brat, what are you doing?!" Sakumo shouted.

"Oh, Father! Uncle!" Yusuke turned with a bright grin. "You came just in time! Want to see a magic trick? I call it... Human Resurrection! Cool, huh?"

"Magic trick, my ass! You've gotten even more reckless!" Sakumo grumbled, exhaling deeply.

"Relax," Shinku said with a soft laugh. "Let's just see what he's up to."

Yusuke's golden eyes glowed as his chakra swirled violently. The air itself seemed to hum with celestial power.

"Outer Path: Samsara of Heavenly Life Technique."

Behind Yusuke, the spectral silhouette of the King of the Underworld manifested. Its enormous mouth opened wide, revealing a glowing sphere of light that slowly took human form.

The soul descended gently onto the earth. A moment later—light merged with flesh.

"N-Nawaki?" Sakumo muttered in disbelief as a young boy's body materialized before them.

Shinku covered his mouth in shock. As former ANBU captains under the Hokage, both men recognized that face immediately—the Golden Son of the Senju Clan, Tsunade's beloved younger brother who had perished long ago.

Tsunade stood frozen, tears streaming down her cheeks before she could even speak.

Meanwhile, Yusuke rolled his eyes at everyone's stunned expressions, looking utterly bored. He stepped forward and crouched beside the newly revived boy, who was lying peacefully on the ground.

Without warning—SMACK! A sharp slap echoed across the yard.

"HEY! What do you think you're doing!?" Tsunade shouted furiously, eyes blazing.

"Ouch! Ouch, that hurts!" cried a familiar, youthful voice. The boy clutched his cheek, his expression somewhere between shock and pain.

"N-Nawaki?" Tsunade whispered, her entire body trembling.

"Eh? Onee-san!?" The boy blinked rapidly, rubbing his head, his voice loud and impulsive—like a miniature version of Naruto.

"Nawaki, how do you feel? Does your body hurt anywhere?" Tsunade dropped to her knees, examining him frantically, tears glistening in her eyes.

"Eh… Nee-san, weren't I… dead?" Nawaki asked, wide-eyed and confused.

"You're alive, Nawaki," Tsunade whispered, voice trembling with emotion. "You're really alive again."

"Sakumo-senpai? Shinku-sensei? Is that really you?" Nawaki looked around, recognizing the familiar faces frozen in disbelief.

Sakumo stepped closer, still dazed. "It's really him… Nawaki."

"Been a long time, little rascal," Shinku said with a fond smile. He had once trained Nawaki in the basics of ANBU fieldwork.

Nawaki looked around again, confused, then pointed at Kurenai. "Wait—who's that pretty lady? I don't remember Nee-san having a friend that beautiful."

Kurenai giggled, eyes sparkling mischievously. "Nice to meet you again, Nawaki-senpai. I'm Kurenai Yūhi."

"Huh? Kurenai? But… you look so young!" Nawaki exclaimed in disbelief.

Then he glanced around the room. "Wait, why am I even here? Last I remember, I was on the battlefield… what's going on?"

Yusuke walked toward him, his tone calm. "Let me explain."

Nawaki squinted at him curiously. "And who are you, weird guy with the blindfold? You can even see with that thing on?"

The entire room burst into laughter.

"Ahahahahahaha!"

Even Tsunade couldn't hold it in. Watching Yusuke's darkening expression as irritation crept onto his face only made her laugh harder.

"Watch your mouth, brat," Yusuke growled, eyes narrowing dangerously. "Or I'll show you what the real shinobi world feels like."

"Don't you dare touch my little brother!" Tsunade instantly pulled Nawaki behind her, glaring daggers at Yusuke. Nawaki stuck his tongue out from behind her, teasing him like a cheeky kid.

"Alright," Tsunade sighed, exhaling deeply. "Let me explain. You did die on the battlefield, Nawaki. But now… you're twenty years in the future. The world's changed. And the one who brought you back is him." She pointed at Yusuke.

"He's… a god, then?" Nawaki asked innocently.

"A god!? No way!" Yusuke snapped. "This is style, got it? Style! I'm the most fashionable shinobi in the Hatake Clan!"

Tsunade and Kurenai both facepalmed.

"He's about to become a father," Kurenai muttered, "and he's still arguing with a literal child…"

"Hatake Clan?" Nawaki turned to Sakumo. "Sensei, is he… your younger brother?"

Sakumo chuckled softly. "No. He's my son. Hatake Yusuke. You've met him before, remember?"

"WHAT!? That annoying brat!?" Nawaki shouted, eyes bulging.

Memories rushed back—years ago, the cheeky little Yusuke who had the audacity to call him a kid and even tease Tsunade right in front of him.

"Watch your tongue, kid," Yusuke said instantly, appearing before him and flicking his forehead.

"Ow! What the—how can something that soft hurt so much!?" Nawaki cried, clutching his head.

"Because," Yusuke grinned mischievously, "that flick was filled with love. The deeper the love, the more it hurts!"

"L-Love?" Nawaki blinked in confusion. "Wait, what did you just say earlier? Brother-in-law?"

Yusuke crossed his arms proudly. "You heard me right, brat. From now on, show some respect to your big brother-in-law, or I'll introduce you to the Iron Fist of Love!"

Nawaki froze, turning toward Tsunade with disbelief. "Nee-san… please tell me he's joking."

Tsunade smiled faintly, her expression soft but amused. "He's not joking. That blindfolded idiot… really is your brother-in-law."

"WHA—!?" Nawaki screamed, voice cracking from shock.

Images of his childhood flashed before him—the smug, troublesome kid he used to boss around was now… family.

Yusuke leaned in close, patting his shoulder with a grin that was equal parts teasing and terrifying. "Hey, kid, forget the past, alright? Because if your brother-in-law here ever loses his temper…" He smirked, his tone dropping to a mock-threatening whisper.

"...even I'm afraid of myself."
