Chapter 241 - Yang Release

Chapter 241 — Yang Release

"If I'm not mistaken… the time should be just about right," Hatake Yusuke murmured as he gazed into the distance.

A frantic scream tore through the sky.

"Ahhhhhh! Help! Somebody help me!!!"

Something large—almost like a massive shimmering sphere—came plummeting from above, rapidly descending straight toward the ground.

Yusuke sighed softly. "Honestly… look at you. Screaming that much."

He raised one hand leisurely. With a single effortless motion, he caught the falling sphere as if it weighed nothing at all.

"So? How was your trip? Smooth enough?" Yusuke asked casually, a faint smile touching his lips.

"You nearly scared me to death!"

Nawaki clutched his chest with both hands, gasping, his face drained of color. His wide, trembling eyes were still filled with sheer panic.

"Come with me," Yusuke said as he turned and began walking away.

"U-um… Brother-in-law, I… I'm hungry…" Nawaki muttered awkwardly, both hands rubbing his loudly growling stomach.

"Oh? Already?" Yusuke replied, mildly amused. "Just one day of travel and you're starving? Fine. I'll take you somewhere decent to eat."

"Really?! Amazing! Thank you, Brother-in-law!" Nawaki said brightly, immediately running to follow him.

The two of them headed toward Kumogakure.

But after only a few steps—

"Stop right there! Identify yourselves!"

A shinobi appeared before them, posture tense, stance ready for combat.

"We're just passing through. Thought we'd grab a bite to eat," Yusuke said calmly, unfazed.

"Hah? Why don't you just let us through? My sister is the Hokage, you know!" Nawaki snapped with a disgruntled scowl.

Yusuke slowly turned his head to look at him—expression utterly flat, as if staring at someone too foolish for words.

"You idiot child. This is Kumogakure, not Konohagakure," Yusuke said dryly.

"W-What?! You mean… I flew all the way to the Village Hidden in the Clouds?!"

Nawaki spun around in shock, staring at the distinctive mountainous terrain and the cloudy sky overhead. The realization hit him like a punch.

Yesterday, with just a single flick of Yusuke's hand, he had been sent soaring through the sky—apparently far enough to cross entire countries.

Even after flying for an entire day…

That distance was insane.

…Maybe his brother-in-law was truly a monster in human form.

"Konoha shinobi?" the Kumogakure guard muttered with a wary tone.

His eyes sharpened, a hint of predatory calculation glinting within them.

This kid… he wasn't ordinary.

If he really had ties to the Hokage—

Capturing him might bring tremendous merit.

"See that?" Yusuke said with icy indifference. "This is why I told you—stop thinking you're important just because you're from Konoha."

"So you ARE spies from Konoha, then?" the Kumo ninja barked, his suspicion deepening. "State your purpose! Why have you infiltrated Kumogakure!?"

At the same time, something about Yusuke's face tugged at the Kumogakure shinobi's memory—

as if he'd heard the name before…

as if he'd seen this man somewhere…

But no matter how hard he tried, his mind drew a blank.

"You must be a newcomer, huh?" Yusuke said casually.

"Huh? How did you know?!" the shinobi blurted out.

He really was new—just a few days ago he had been reassigned from the Lightning Country's border after receiving a direct order from the Raikage.

"Ohhh, that explains it," Yusuke nodded knowingly.

"Go fetch your Raikage," Yusuke said next, tone steady and unfazed.

Of course, he could've simply teleported straight into the village grounds—but today, for reasons unknown even to himself, he felt like playing along.

"W–What?! The Raikage? Brother-in-law, are you insane?! The Raikage is on the same level as the Hokage! Stop causing trouble—let's just go home! You can smack me once more and fling me back to Konoha!" Nawaki shouted in panic.

"You lowly Konoha shinobi… you dare demand an audience with Raikage-sama?! Just die!"

The Kumogakure ninja unsheathed his long blade and charged straight at Yusuke.

"Wait—STOP!!" a woman's voice shouted from afar.

But before the blow could land, Yusuke's body released a powerful surge of chakra.

In an instant, a massive pressure erupted outward—like a crushing tidal wave.

The shinobi was blasted away as though he'd struck an invisible wall, his body flung back violently before slamming into a chakra barrier and collapsing unconscious on the ground.

A woman rushed toward them. She wore Kumogakure's distinctive uniform coat, her movements swift and controlled. After checking her unconscious comrade and confirming his life wasn't in danger, she stood and approached Yusuke respectfully.

"Thank you for holding back, Lord Yusuke. I deeply apologize for what happened—none of us expected you to enter through the main gate," Mabui said politely.

Yusuke chuckled lightly, clearly not taking offense.

"So, what about your Raikage—the stubborn old man? He prepared the item I asked for, right?" Yusuke asked.

"Yes, Lord Yusuke. Here it is."

Mabui produced a red card and offered it with both hands.

"Oh? And this is…?"

"Well, Raikage-sama felt that a gift like this should come with something delicious. So he ordered this card from the village's finest confectionery," Mabui explained.

"I see… Hah. I didn't expect that thick-headed gorilla to have such refined taste," Yusuke said with an amused smile.

"Ehm…" Mabui could only remain silent. Across the entire shinobi world, Yusuke was likely the only person with the audacity to speak about the Raikage like that—right in front of Kumogakure's entrance.

"Lord Yusuke, please follow me."

"Sure. Come on, brat," Yusuke said to Nawaki.

Nawaki gulped nervously before trailing behind.

Before long, Mabui led them to a large, elegant sweets shop filled with a warm aroma.

"I'm here!" Yusuke declared excitedly, striding in without hesitation, momentarily forgetting Nawaki existed.

"Boss!" Yusuke called out.

"Ah! Lord Yusuke, welcome! Perfect timing—I've just created a new flavor. Would you like to try it?" said the shop owner, an elderly man with soft gray hair and a warm smile.

"Of course," Yusuke replied with a light grin.

"One moment."

The owner hurried to the kitchen, returning with a small plate carrying a beautifully crafted confection.

"This is one of my best creations, Lord Yusuke. Please, taste it."

Yusuke's expression shifted into seriousness.

He lifted the small spoon, scooped a delicate portion, and brought it to his mouth.

The moment the sweetness touched his tongue, his eyes widened.

"This flavor…" Yusuke muttered, stunned.

"How is it, Lord Yusuke?" the owner asked anxiously.

"Magnificent! I—I'm officially your fan now. Forgive me, edamame and peanuts… it's not that you taste bad—my palate is simply too refined for you!" Yusuke declared dramatically.

The owner burst into joyful laughter. "As long as it pleases you, Lord Yusuke, I'm honored!"

Everyone knew: Hatake Yusuke's standards for food were impossibly high.

"Boss, bring me more," Yusuke said, waving casually.

"Right away!" the owner replied.

"Hey, brat, come here! Don't just stand there. Don't say I never treat you well—something this delicious, I'll even let you have one," Yusuke said, handing Nawaki a plate.

Nawaki took a bite—and his eyes sparkled instantly.

"This is incredible, Brother-in-law! So delicious!" he exclaimed.

"Right? Super tasty. Since you've got good taste, I guess I won't scold you for a while," Yusuke laughed.

It was rare for him to meet someone who appreciated sweets as much as he did.

"Thank you, Brother-in-law. But… why do the people of Kumogakure respect you so much?" Nawaki asked curiously. He couldn't help noticing how familiar everyone seemed with Yusuke.

"Oh, that? I once punched their Raikage," Yusuke replied casually while chewing, as though discussing the weather.

"Eh?! Really?! That's amazing, Brother-in-law!"

Nawaki's eyes sparkled with childlike admiration.

"I told you—I'm invincible," Yusuke said calmly.

This time, Nawaki didn't laugh. He knew it was true.

No wonder his sister married such a man.

"Hey, what are you spacing out for? Eat. If you don't want it, I'll take it back," Yusuke said, glancing at him.

"Okay, okay! I'm eating!" Nawaki replied quickly.

The two of them continued eating non-stop.

After nearly an hour, they finally stopped—not because they were satisfied, but because their stomachs were truly at their limit.

"Ughh… I'm so full…" Nawaki groaned, patting his round belly.

"Not bad. You can eat more than I expected," Yusuke said, genuinely impressed. Even among the famously gluttonous Akimichi clan, few could match this performance.

"Let me check something," Yusuke said, lifting his black eye-cover.

When his eyes opened, a pair of dazzling golden pupils glowed gently beneath his silver hair.

"So beautiful…" Nawaki whispered, mesmerized. He stared at Yusuke's eyes as if looking at divine artwork.

No wonder his brother-in-law kept them covered—those eyes were too striking. Combined with his white-silver hair and flawless features, the effect was almost ethereal.

"Oh? Your chakra reserves aren't massive, but your Yang Release is exceptionally strong…" Yusuke murmured thoughtfully.

He finally understood the secret behind this boy's body—

Nawaki possessed extraordinary vitality, reminiscent of Senju Hashirama himself.

While Nawaki's chakra volume wasn't on Hashirama's level, his Yang Release was just as potent.

"Brother-in-law? Is something wrong with me?" Nawaki asked nervously, watching Yusuke study him so intently.

"There's nothing wrong. In fact, you're much better than I thought," Yusuke said, a faint smile forming.

"Really?! I told you—I'm a genius! But Brother-in-law, what should I do to become strong?" Nawaki asked eagerly.

"Good question. From now on, focus on Taijutsu as your foundation—and use Ninjutsu only as support," Yusuke said calmly.

"But… aren't shinobi supposed to rely on Ninjutsu?" Nawaki asked, puzzled.

Yusuke chuckled softly. "You'll understand soon enough… just how far you can go."
