"What was all that about Lady Lava?" Rye asked as they walked away.
"Do you have a place to spend the night?" Yuno asked as he saw firebugs fill the air.
"No, not even sure if I want to," Rye replied.
"Okay, I will find you somewhere to lay your head for the night," Yuno promised.
Not far from the market Yuno walked Rye to the pit. Rye did not go near it.
"Come have a look. This is home," Yuno called to him.
Rye sighed and slowly walked to the pit. It was about the size of a baseball field. He stayed behind Yuno and looked into the pit.
"Whoa, are there people down there?" Rye said as he got closer.
"Yes, like I said. I am from down there. It is called the burrows,"
"Wow, it goes down forever," Rye said sticking his head into the pit.
"I have a room down there if you would like," Yuno offered and Rye nodded like a bobblehead doll.
They walked at the edge of the pit till they saw carved out stairs that led down. They descended the stairs. Plants crept on the walls of the burrow.
Like ants in their holes, everyone went about their day. The hole was about forty feet hole.
It smelled of rain and wet clay. Beneath the burrow was a thick forest with some trees growing as high as ten feet.
Yuno was popular there, adults greeted him and told him of their troubles. Kids on the other hand ask for sweets and tales of his adventures above.
'Where does he keep all these sweets,' Rye thought after they came across a lot of kids.
After stopping countless times to listen to problems or tell stories. They got to a house with blue doors.
"This is it, home," Yuno said before carefully opening the door. The moment he walked in a young man with scales on his face thrust a sword at him.
He grabbed and flung making the boy flip over.
Rye watched as his heart pounded in his chest.
"You cheated," the young man said as he dusted himself off.
