The explosion tossed Elmo into the air. As he fell, he noticed a creature with its mouth wide open. Frost shot out from under Elmo's feet he slid down the creature's back.
Rye watched frozen in fear. He had heard about sea creatures that big but the sight of it paralyzed him.
The almost fifty-foot creature fell back into the water. The impact created a ten-foot wave that crashed down on him. His nose and lungs burned as water forced its way through.
He could not tell up from down as the water flipped him around. Out of nowhere someone grabbed him. He took a sudden deep breath when his head popped out of the water.
He coughed and looked back to see Yuno. He was eagerly staring at something in the distance.
Rye looked in that direction and saw Elmo fighting the sea monster.
'We are miles away,' Rye thought, as he noticed how far the waves washed them. He and Yuno watched as Elmo fought the sea monster.
Streaks of frost burst from his hand. It fell on the monster's glycerin skin, sticking to it instantly.
"Come on we have to help him," Yuno said as he swam in this direction.
"How do we help? We left our swords at shore," Rye asked as his heart pounded in his chest.
Yuno stopped, "We will figure something out," he said, and continued swimming.
When they got there Rye screamed, "Just freeze it,"
"That's what I'm trying to do but the water keeps melting it," Elmo screamed back at Rye.
Elmo dived off the creature into the water. He held onto the creature, with all his might he started to freeze the monster.
Yuno and Rye dove to check on him. Yuno saw little flakes of ice form. He swam back up and Rye followed him.
"Swim away as fast as you can," Yuno warned just before ice crystals pierced through the water.
Rye paddled as fast as he could. Moments later, the water around him started to drain. The creature popped up under him frozen solid.
Elmo who was already on it helped him up. The two helped Yuno onto the creature's back.
"Is it dead?" Yuno asked and Elmo shook his head.
"No, it will resuscitate after a while. Hey, that's it," Elmo announced and jumped into the water. The others followed they swam to a floating iceberg.
