Chapter 11 - CHAPTER 10

---

At the Amusement Park

Mirabel stepped out of the cab, dressed beautifully, her heart racing when she saw Dave waiting with a smile.

"You look so cute," Dave said, scanning her from head to toe, his eyes lingering on the gown.

"Thank you… you look good too," Mirabel replied, cheeks pink with a shy smile.

"Ready?" he asked.

"Yeah," she said softly, and they got into the cab together.

At the park, Mirabel's eyes widened with wonder. She marveled at the bright lights and rides, her smile glowing. But then her gaze caught a little girl holding her mother's hand, laughing freely. Her smile faltered—memories of her own mother came flooding back.

Dave noticed her distant look and snapped his fingers gently in front of her face. "Hey… where did you go?"

Mirabel blinked back, giving him a small smile. "Oh… I was just remembering my mum. When she was still alive."

Dave's expression softened. "I'm sorry."

"Don't be. It's fine," she said quickly, pushing the memory away. She pointed at the carousel. "Come on, let's ride that."

He helped her up onto the horse, his hand steady on her waist. Mirabel blushed, quickly covering her face with her hand, and Dave chuckled at how adorable she looked.

Later, he returned with cotton candy, her face lighting up as she took it from him. "Thank you," she said, gazing up at him with grateful eyes that made him blush.

"How about the Ferris wheel?" she suggested.

"Sure," Dave agreed, smiling as they walked toward it together.

Lucian's Mansion

A sleek black car rolled up the driveway. Out stepped Daisy. Her presence was a storm in heels—sharp, arrogant, dangerous. Her tight dress clung to her curves, her larger hips swaying with every step, her chin high as though the whole world was beneath her.

The maids froze, whispering among themselves.

🗣 "She's back…"

🗣 "We're doomed."

🗣 "God, why her again?"

Daisy smirked at their fear. "Don't whisper. If you have something to say, say it loud. Or are you too spineless for that?"

One of the maids bent down to grab her bag and fumbled, dropping it. Daisy's eyes flashed cold. She stepped forward and kicked the bag closer to the girl, her heel barely missing her fingers.

"Pathetic," Daisy hissed. "Do I look like someone who forgives clumsy pigs? Next time you drop my bag, I'll make sure you never use those hands again."

The girl trembled, bowing low, whispering apologies.

"Shut up. Your voice irritates me," Daisy snapped, brushing past her without another glance.

She strutted into the mansion as if she owned it. "This place feels dead. Time to bring it back to life."

A knock came at her door twenty minutes later. Daisy swung it open, eyes sharp, ready to lash out. But her face softened instantly when she saw Madam Kira standing there.

"Auntie!" Daisy squealed, throwing her arms around her. "Finally, someone worth hugging in this dull house."

Kira chuckled, patting her back. "You haven't changed a bit."

Behind Kira stood two young maids. They bowed nervously. "I'm Jessy." "And I'm Celine."

Daisy looked them up and down slowly, her smile fading into a sneer. "Jessy. Celine. How sweet. But I don't care. You're trash with names, nothing more. Your only job is to obey. Fail once, and you'll regret it for the rest of your lives."

Jessy tried to be polite. "Ma'am, do you need—"

"Did I say you could speak?" Daisy's voice cracked like a whip, venomous. "Both of you, get out. The sight of you disgusts me."

The maids fled in fear. Daisy turned back to Kira with a bright, innocent smile, hugging her again like nothing happened.

"Mm, much better," she purred, dropping onto her bed, scrolling her phone lazily. "This mansion feels alive again… now that I'm here to make everyone's life miserable."
