Chapter 44: The Shikkotsu Forest Summoning Contract

Kumogakure's Raikage Tower.

Daihito was sitting at a desk, flipping through some documents.

He was the right-hand man of the Third Raikage, wielding the Lava Release. His strength was formidable, and he also served as the chief examiner for every generation of the Double Lariat.

In Kumogakure, there was a rule that after 'A' was chosen as the Raikage candidate, a 'B' must be selected as the Raikage's guard.

A and B had a fiery combination jutsu called the Double Lariat.

As someone who could serve as the chief examiner, his position in Kumogakure was not much lower than Danzō Shimura's in Konoha.

Just then, Daihito's eyes widened.

Holy shit, this kid!

What was he seeing?

A spy with the codename 9527 had become Tsunade's student?

This was a situation of the most preposterous kind—it was utterly unbelievable!

Tsunade was one of the Legendary Sannin and a student of the Third Hokage.

This was practically the equivalent of the Third Raikage taking in a student, only to have that student turn out to be a spy from Konoha.

"Is this real or fake?" After his initial shock, Daihito felt it was too unreal.

But this secret report was sent by his cousin, Tsuchihashi.

Blood was thicker than water; there was no reason for him to play a prank.

Besides, who would dare to play a prank on the Raikage? With his hot temper, he would explode at the slightest provocation.

With that thought, Daihito quickly stood up and went to the Raikage's office.

After getting permission, he pushed the door open and went in.

"Lord Raikage," Daihito said after bowing slightly. "Tsunade from Konoha has taken a new student who is a ninja from Kumogakure."

"..." The Third Raikage's face was full of question marks.

Would you please listen to what you're saying?

"It's true," Daihito presented the secret report from Tsuchihashi.

"Who was the one who sent him there in the first place?" The Third Raikage frowned after reading it. "How could such a talented person be sent to be a spy?"

"Hoshikawa's talent wasn't apparent before. They were mistaken. I will punish them when I get back," Daihito said with a pause. "But it's undeniable that this is a huge blessing for our village."

"Is he loyal?" The Third Raikage asked, tapping the table.

"Lord Raikage, you know that all spies have a secret jutsu planted in their minds," Daihito said with certainty. "He would never dare to betray us."

What he didn't know was that the secret jutsu had already been removed by Hoshikawa's system during the memory extraction by the Yamanaka clan ninja.

But even without it, it was as if it were still there.

This was because Hoshikawa had the A-rank entry 'Infiltrator'.

Even if Kumogakure wanted to test him, they wouldn't be able to expose him.

"It seems his luck is indeed very good," the Third Raikage said with emotion.

"It is," Daihito agreed.

Spies had to go through all sorts of checks, and Hoshikawa had miraculously passed them all.

"Kumogakure has always repaid its debts and rewarded its merits," the Third Raikage said after thinking for a moment. "What reward do you think he should be given?"

"The training method for the Lightning Release Chakra Mode," Daihito said, giving his reasoning.

Lightning Release Chakra Mode, in simple terms, was using Lightning Release chakra to stimulate the body's cells to strengthen the body.

The reason Kumogakure had so many strong men was because of the Lightning Release Chakra Mode, which was also a prerequisite for the Lightning Release Body Flicker.

After Hoshikawa learned it, he would need to earn more merits to exchange for the subsequent Lightning Release Body Flicker jutsu to continue getting stronger.

"Besides that, there's another clever use for it," Daihito said with a smile. "Lightning Release Body Flicker is unique to Kumogakure. If he dares to betray us, we can force him to use it and expose him."

The Third Raikage agreed after hearing this.

Hoshikawa left the Konoha Knowledge Bookstore and turned into a street that specialized in ninja tools.

In the ninja world, money was important, but strength was the foundation.

Money could be earned again, but a person who was dead was gone forever.

The first thing Hoshikawa did after getting his money was to find a master swordsmith.

He already had a target in mind.

Soon, he stopped walking.

Amidst a row of Japanese-style ninja tool shops stood a ninja tool shop that looked like a martial arts dojo from his previous life.

A plaque hung above the entrance with four large characters: Ten-Ten Ninja Tools.

Ten-Ten was one of the Konoha 12 in the original story, a teammate of Neji Hyūga and Rock Lee, who excelled at throwing ninja tools.

Most importantly, she had good luck and could even find Six Paths ninja tools just by walking around.

As the saying went, "Spearmen have E-rank luck."

Although Hoshikawa wanted to forge a katana, not a spear, luck was still very important. He was going for a lucky charm.

He walked into the ninja tool shop, and a young man greeted him.

At this time, Ten-Ten hadn't been born yet, so this was most likely her father.

In the original story, her parents were never mentioned.

He wondered if her father's name was Nian-Nian or Yue-Yue.

"Hello, little one," the young man asked with a smile. "Are you here to buy a ninja tool?"

"I want to forge a katana," Hoshikawa said with a pause. "I want it to be made with chakra metal."

"That's not cheap," the young man's eyes lit up. "Where are your parents?"

"My parent is Tsunade," Hoshikawa said with a serious face.

"What are you... Wait, are you Hoshikawa?" The young man was about to say he was joking but immediately remembered the news he had heard today.

In Konoha, no one would dare to randomly claim to be Tsunade's student.

And an ordinary child wouldn't know about chakra metal, so the young man believed him.

"It will cost ten million ryo," the young man said, holding up a finger.

"Alright," Hoshikawa had inquired about the prices before, and that was about right.

"Although you're Tsunade-sama's student, since the amount is quite large, I'll need a deposit of one million ryo," the young man said with a pause. "I haven't introduced myself yet. My name is Amamura."

"No problem," Hoshikawa was quite wealthy now, and a million ryo was a small amount.

Besides, Amamura's ninja tool shop was in Konoha, so he couldn't run away.

He was now a disciple of the Hokage's lineage and had Tsunade to rely on.

"How long will it take?" Hoshikawa asked after paying the deposit.

"About two months," Amamura said after thinking for a moment.

"Alright, I'll come back then," Hoshikawa said.

After leaving the Ten-Ten Ninja Tools shop, he jogged all the way to Tsunade's house.

"You're here? Sign this," Tsunade was sitting on the sofa, lazily raising her foot. She wiggled her flexible toes and pointed at the coffee table.

On the coffee table in front of her was an unfolded scroll.

Hoshikawa glanced at it and knew what it was: the Shikkotsu Forest Summoning Contract.

In the original story, there were three great summoning animal sanctuaries: Shikkotsu Forest, Ryūchi Cave, and Mount Myōboku.

As summoned animals, they were powerful.

As sanctuaries, they would teach their contractors the Sage Mode and senjutsu.

Hoshikawa was too young to learn it now, but there was a big difference between being able to learn it and being qualified to do so.

By signing his name, he would be qualified.

"Today, I'll teach you the Summoning Jutsu," Tsunade said after he had signed it, and then she explained the details of the Shikkotsu Forest to him.

Even though Hoshikawa already knew about it, he listened again to avoid raising any suspicion.
