Chapter 60 - Chapter 60: Let's Make a New Konoha

Chapter 60: Let's Make a New Konoha

"What did you wish for?" Tsunade asked casually as she sliced the cake.

"Am I allowed to say a birthday wish?" Hoshikawa asked, blinking. "Doesn't it not come true if I say it out loud?"

"Why wouldn't you be able to say it?" Tsunade handed him the first slice she cut. "I don't believe in that stuff."

"Then I'll tell you, but you can't get mad." Hoshikawa looked hesitant.

"Why would I get mad?" Tsunade was taken aback, her beautiful eyes fixed on him. "Did you wish for something terribly rebellious?"

"Of course not, how could I?" Hoshikawa quickly shook his head. "I wished for you to become Hokage, Sensei."

"Hokage?" Tsunade was silent for a few seconds. "Why? Don't you want to become Hokage yourself?"

"I'm too young," Hoshikawa said with a laugh. "You can be the Fourth Hokage, and I'll be the Fifth. We'll make things bigger and better and create a new Konoha."

"Are you trying to get yourself killed, brat?" Tsunade couldn't help but raise her hand and lightly smack him on the head. "What do you think being Hokage is? Something you can just become on a whim?"

"I can't speak for myself yet, but if you wanted to be Hokage, Sensei, it would be a breeze." Hoshikawa said, his face completely serious.

"What do you know?" Tsunade rolled her eyes. "I'm not the only candidate. If it came to a competition, there are a few other troublesome people."

"Your advantages are the biggest, Sensei."

Hoshikawa knew who she was talking about.

It was none other than Sakumo Hatake, Orochimaru, Jiraiya, Minato Namikaze, and maybe Danzo Shimura.

But among them, none could truly compare to Tsunade.

According to the timeline, Sakumo Hatake would commit suicide next year. Even if he didn't, his personality wasn't suited to be Hokage.

Orochimaru was already being viewed with suspicion by Hiruzen Sarutobi.

Jiraiya only cared about finding the Child of Prophecy and had no interest in becoming Hokage.

And while Minato Namikaze was a pivotal force in the Third Shinobi War, he was still too young.

In the original story, his only true competitor was Orochimaru, which is why he smoothly became the Fourth Hokage.

If he had to compete against Tsunade, his chances would be much lower.

Tsunade's identity and legacy were simply too vast.

She was the granddaughter of the First Hokage, a student of the Third Hokage, the greatest medical ninja, and one of the Legendary Sannin.

As for Danzo Shimura, well, we wish him the best of luck.

"You little brat," Tsunade said with a smile, not taking him seriously and thinking he was just flattering her.

"…" Hoshikawa felt like he should propose a plan to her right there, while they drank and shared their thoughts.

I laugh at Hiruzen's lack of strategy and Danzo's lack of wisdom. Among all the heroes in the world, only you and I are worthy!

Unfortunately, he was too young. Many things he couldn't say, or it would be too shocking.

"I'm not interested in being Hokage," Tsunade said, shaking her head. "But I support you becoming one. However, you're still far from ready, so you need to keep working hard."

"Yes," Hoshikawa replied, not pushing the matter.

There was still plenty of time, so there was no need to rush.

Besides, this Tsunade was different from the one with hemophobia in the original story; she would definitely participate in the Third Shinobi War.

When that happened, she would accumulate so many achievements that it would be hard for her not to become Hokage.

Because all the ninja whose interests aligned with hers would help usher her into the role.

"Should we go to the casino later?" Hoshikawa asked after finishing his cake.

"No, I'll teach you Super Strength this afternoon," Tsunade said, pained.

Even though she didn't agree to his birthday wish, his words had clearly moved her.

Since she had given him the First Hokage's necklace, it was her duty to train him to become Hokage.

"Okay." Hoshikawa was a little surprised but didn't object.

He had been coveting the Super Strength Jutsu for a long time and was excited to finally learn it.

"Let's go." Tsunade stood up and went outside.

Hoshikawa followed her to a clearing.

"Super Strength is a taijutsu, and also a way of exerting force," Tsunade began to explain. "Simply put, it's about gathering chakra in one part of your body and releasing it all at once."

Two hours later, Hoshikawa had a clear understanding of Super Strength.

The principle wasn't difficult; the hard part was how to gather chakra in an instant and release it with devastating power.

This required an extremely high level of chakra control.

And, of course, a strong body.

A weak body wouldn't be able to withstand the impact of the jutsu, making it a double-edged sword that would hurt both the enemy and the user.

"We'll start with the simplest form: using your hands."

Tsunade held out her hand, slowly clenched it, and then slammed it down.

The ground groaned, cracks spread out like a spiderweb, and the earth caved in, forming a deep crater.

Hoshikawa braced himself and couldn't help but swallow.

He was grateful that Tsunade always held back when she was with him.

"You try it," Tsunade said with a laugh, seeing his reaction.

Are you scared now?

"Alright." Hoshikawa took a deep breath and, following her instructions, gathered his chakra and threw a punch.

The ground shook slightly, leaving a shallow fist-shaped indentation.

"…" Hoshikawa was speechless.

"It's okay," Tsunade said, comforting him. "Small is cute, too."

"Let's go again!" Hoshikawa's face darkened as he spoke, annoyed.

Seeing this, Tsunade laughed even harder.

This is why having a student is so much fun.

The afternoon passed quickly.

Hoshikawa was learning just how difficult Super Strength was, but its difficulty was worth its power.

[A-Rank Jutsu Entry: Super Strength.]

[Trigger Condition: Successfully perform the jutsu.]

[Current Progress: 0%.]

Hoshikawa looked at the new entry and let out a sigh of relief.

Even though there was no progress yet, as long as there was a progress bar, there was hope.

If he could master Super Strength, it would be his first A-rank entry.

"Go take a bath," Tsunade said, seeing him covered in sweat.

"Okay." Hoshikawa walked toward the bathroom, but stopped at the door, turning his head to ask, "What are you doing following me? Are we bathing together?"

"What are you talking about?" Tsunade said, giving his head a good rub. "I'm here to put medicine in the water for you."

She turned on the hot water, and after the tub was full, she started adding the herbs.

"Wait two minutes before you get in," Tsunade instructed before turning to leave.

Hoshikawa inwardly sighed with regret.

He actually wouldn't mind bathing together.

Ahem.

After waiting two minutes, Hoshikawa got into the tub and immediately felt his fatigue melt away.

After his bath, he went back to his room.

While he was drying his hair, he suddenly remembered his training for Lightning Release Chakra Mode.

He thought for a moment, held out his hand, and, following the instructions on the scroll, gathered his Lightning Release chakra.

The next second, lightning flickered and coursed throughout his body.

Hoshikawa's hair stood on end.

He collapsed onto the bed, his limbs completely numb.

What kind of training method is this?

Hoshikawa stared at the familiar ceiling and began to organize his plans.

At the Ninja Academy, there was nothing more to learn in his second year besides the Substitution Jutsu.

His main focus would be learning Super Strength and Lightning Release Chakra Mode.

In addition, the B-rank entry, "Healing Without Seals," required him to master medical ninjutsu and the Body Flicker Jutsu.
