Chapter 289 - Ambitions Not Great

"Fine, the person ran off. I have no reason to stay here any longer!"

Mu Xin turned away coldly, heading back toward Gu Ling Mountain.

Yun Dehe and his companions remained rooted, staring at his departing figure in awe.

"This senior seems to know the Spirit Realm cultivator from earlier," Zhao Lingyi voiced his suspicion.

Yun Dehe nodded. "My thoughts are the same. Anyone familiar with a Spirit Realm cultivator is no ordinary person!"

"So he belongs to Fairy Ranran. That means the immortalzhǔ can even recruit Spirit Realm cultivators as servants!"

Yun Hui looked up admiringly at Mu Xin's retreating back. His words stirred the surrounding disciples of Yun Gu Sect.

Yun Dehe sighed in admiration. "Indeed, Fairy Ranran is the great savior of the Eastern Wilderness!"

"And beyond that, the immortalzhǔ has protected the entire Eastern Wilderness. Now, aside from Longyin Village, Yun Gu Sect and other regions are all under the protection of her grand formation!"

Zhao Lingyi said in awe.

The respect in his heart for Yao Ranran could no longer be expressed in words.

Yun Dehe glanced at the sky. "Right, disciple, the grand formation you mentioned… it really exists!"

Yun Hui and the other Yun Gu Sect disciples cheered loudly.

"We no longer have to worry about other Spirit Realm cultivators breaking in!"

"Yes, yes, the immortalzhǔ truly has a kind heart and cares for all living beings!"

Yun Dehe's voice trembled with emotion as he wiped at his eyes, murmuring, "Almost shed tears at my age. Yun Gu Sect could never repay the immortalzhǔ's kindness in a lifetime!"

Zhao Lingyi, though overjoyed, did not forget to check on Yun Dehe. He walked over thoughtfully."Master, Fairy Ranran doesn't seek such things. As long as we diligently deliver what she wants, our hearts remain clear."

Seeing this, Yun Hui also stepped forward. "Yes, Father. Whatever the immortalzhǔ currently lacks, we should deliver it to her!"

Yun Dehe's eyes were filled with warmth. He laughed and scolded, "You child. The immortalzhǔ has no lack of anything. We simply cannot repay her kindness!"

Yun Hui shook his head. "No, Father. I think the immortalzhǔ especially lacks an outstanding Dao companion. I am single, so I…"

"Get out!" Yun Dehe shouted, grabbing a stick and chasing him.

Zhao Lingyi smiled helplessly. "Junior Brother Yun Hui still loves to joke as always."

"Father, stop! I am serious!" Yun Hui called as he ran, expressing his determination.

Zhao Lingyi paused. "Junior Brother is serious? That is shameless indeed!"

Yun Hui muttered, "Why would Senior Brother say the same thing about me!"

"You brat, take this!"

Yun Dehe used his body technique to quickly seize Yun Hui's belt, pulling him back.

"Father, spare me! Senior Brother, I will never indulge in foolish dreams again. Save me!"

Yun Hui's shrieks echoed through the verdant mountains.

The grand formation, radiating with a multicolored glow, spread across the Eastern Wilderness. In front of the Gu Ling Mountain temple, Yao Ranran looked up at the spectacle, a gentle smile forming on her lips.

"Now I can stay home in peace!"

"With such a great opportunity, don't you want to unify the Lower Realm, dear disciple?"

Beside Yao Ranran, An Xiaolin in flowing azure robes stood tall, gazing at her gently.

Yao Ranran shook her head without hesitation. "No, I have no interest in unifying the cultivation world."

"Is that so?"

"Yes. Rather than wasting time managing such a vast territory, I would rather store more spirit stones and enjoy a stable, leisurely life at home."

Yao Ranran was content with her current life. The chaos outside no longer concerned her. As long as the Eastern Wilderness remained peaceful, her little corner was sufficient.

An Xiaolin's gaze softened further as he looked at her. "The greatest thing I have done in my life was taking you as a disciple."

Yao Ranran smiled faintly. "Having Master always by my side makes these the happiest days."

"Alas, I have done so little for you…"

"Master has done plenty. I know you tidy the chaotic temple every day and even cover me with the quilt at night."

Though these were small tasks, Yao Ranran noticed them all.

Her makeshift master cared for her like a child.

He seemed to forget that she was a cultivator, always appearing at night to manage the minutiae.

A flicker of surprise passed through An Xiaolin's eyes before vanishing, and he smiled."So my dear disciple knows everything."

"I know. Master, look at this grand formation. Could you break it in your prime?"

Yao Ranran cheerfully diverted the topic, glancing up at the vast formation overhead.

An Xiaolin floated upwards, admiration and shock showing in his eyes. "Dear disciple, how did you conceive a formation that covers the entire Eastern Wilderness?"

Yao Ranran smiled lightly. "Judging from your expression, Master, it cannot be broken. As for how I conceived it… all it takes is endless spirit stones!"

She suddenly remembered something, reached into her storage, and handed it to An Xiaolin.

"Right, Master, these are top-grade spirit stones nurtured by the highest spirit veins. I thought you could use them but never had the chance to give them to you."

An Xiaolin took the storage space and, seeing the pile of supreme spirit stones with his divine sense, involuntarily held his breath.

"Dear disciple, this gift is too precious. Though the spirit veins are yours, producing top-grade spirit stones consumes endless years. You should not waste so much on me."

He insisted on returning the stones.

Yao Ranran shook her head gently. "Master, besides the divine phoenix and the immortal artifact Che Lingzhi, I recently obtained a small black dog that can control the Gu Ling Mountain's black mist. It converts the chaotic dense spiritual energy into top-grade spirit stones through the supreme spirit veins."

An Xiaolin stared at her in disbelief. "So these top-grade spirit stones come not only from accumulation over tens of thousands of years?"

"Yes. If I only had those, I couldn't have created a formation covering such a vast area."

Yao Ranran answered honestly.

She had only just discovered the black dog's ability. A single use had produced a heap of top-grade spirit stones.

An Xiaolin no longer refused and accepted the stones, smiling. "During my years as Palace Master, I never obtained such fine spirit stones."

Yao Ranran looked puzzled. "Was Shu Xi Palace really that poor under your management?"

An Xiaolin's smile froze. "Dear disciple, Shu Xi Palace is not poor. You are simply extraordinary!"

She understood just how outrageous her wealth truly was.
