Chapter 293 - Beauty and Ruthlessness

"This… this… you have long-distance teleportation arrays?"

Mo Rui stared in disbelief at the scene before him. This was the first time he had arrived in Central Domain so quickly.

"Yes. Does the Spirit Realm not have teleportation arrays?"

Yao Ranran looked at him with curiosity. In her mind, the Spirit Realm was a higher plane. Teleportation arrays should be quite common there.

Mu Xin curled his lips to the side. "The Spirit Realm has teleportation arrays, but those were left by cultivators long ago. Once broken, no one can repair them. Forget building a new one from scratch."

Mo Rui gave a bitter smile. "Yes, the legacy for making these arrays has been lost. No one can find it anymore."

Yao Ranran suddenly understood. "So these teleportation arrays are rare. Then if I went to the Spirit Realm as a teleportation array repairer, I could earn a lot, right?"

Mo Rui hesitated. "…If the Xiānzhǔ is willing, Spirit Realm cultivators would definitely pay a high price to hire you."

They would compete to hire her!

Mu Xin twitched at the corner of his mouth. Truly, she was a woman who valued wealth above all else.

"All right. Let's get back to the point. Find the treasures of Hun Ling Mountain, then we leave."

Yao Ranran did not want to waste time in front of the treasures.

Mo Rui's lips twitched, a flicker of hesitation in his eyes. He had only intended to delay them, but he did not expect this woman to be able to set up a small teleportation array. Now that they had arrived at Hun Ling Mountain, he was in a difficult spot.

"Xiānzhǔ, please do not rush. I will… I will immediately take you there…"

He looked around slowly. Hun Ling Mountain was desolate. It was so quiet that not even the sound of mountain birds could be heard.

Suddenly, Mo Rui stepped on a dry branch. A flock of black birds burst from the forest. Seeing the feathers fall as they scattered, a trace of delight crossed his face. But he quickly masked it, pretending to be confused.

Yao Ranran brushed the feathers from her shoulder and looked toward the forest.

"Someone else is here. That is why they flew away."

Mu Xin's gaze swept over Mo Rui. "Could Spirit Realm cultivators be hiding here?"

Mo Rui hastily waved his hands. "I don't know anything. We were working on the teleportation array together. When would I have had time to contact them?"

Yao Ranran stepped forward a few paces. "Whether there is a trap is not important. What matters is, are you sure all the Wuxiang Sect treasures are hidden here?"

Mu Xin fell silent, speechless. Apparently, his question had been unnecessary. This woman truly did not fear death!

Mo Rui's expression flickered with surprise. He paused, then said, "Yes. I swear by heaven, I am not deceiving you."

"That's fine. Stop talking so much. Just take me there quickly!"

Yao Ranran urged excitedly.

Mo Rui led the way, silently hoping someone in the forest would notice him.

Not long after, a black figure darted swiftly from the forest.

"An outsider has entered this place!"

The man in black removed his headscarf, revealing his true face.

"Could it be an elder of Wuxiang Sect who escaped? They must know we are after the treasures!"

The black-clad man's thin eyes scanned the surroundings. He pursued the direction of Yao Ranran and the others.

-

Meanwhile, at Wuxiang Sect.

Han Huijun was busy and overwhelmed.

"Has Master Guanfan Temple been contacted? Someone has intruded into Hun Ling Mountain. We must send people immediately!"

"What exactly is in Hun Ling Mountain that makes every sect master value it so highly?"

Shen Yuefu asked calmly.

Han Huijun looked grave.

"I am not entirely sure what is hidden inside, but when controlling the Sect Master Token, the Ancestor once said that in dire circumstances, the treasures inside Hun Ling Mountain can save all living beings!"

Shen Yuefu frowned. "Then I should go."

Han Huijun shook his head. "None of us can go. The protective sect array will not last long. They will arrive soon!"

"Did the sect master not say the Ancestor is arriving?"

Shen Yuefu pressed his lips together.

Han Huijun looked up at the blackened sky. "Yes. If the Ancestor arrives, he will surely come to save us…"

"Help! I really did not intentionally set a trap to lure you here!"

Mo Rui's wails echoed throughout Hun Ling Mountain.

Mu Xin broke both his arms and aimed at his soul with a strike.

Mo Rui endured the pain as he tried to explain.

"Then what about the circle of people surrounding us?"

Mu Xin grabbed his head, forcing him to meet the gaze of numerous eyes brimming with killing intent.

Mo Rui forced a grimace. "These people are not under my control. I don't know why they are here. Did that old man from Miao Yun Sect send you?"

His words were half-truth, half-lie.

Of course he knew people would come to Hun Ling Mountain. It hid treasures from Central Domain, and Spirit Realm cultivators would definitely try to reclaim them.

Mu Xin punched his eyes. "I will not believe a single word you say, old man!"

Mo Rui felt dizzy, cursing him in his heart. "Why ask if you will not believe me?"

The leader of the black-clad group stepped forward, studying Yao Ranran's face carefully.

"You are not the most beautiful woman of the six territories of Central Domain, Yao Ranran, are you?"

Yao Ranran blinked, touching her face awkwardly. "I did not expect Spirit Realm cultivators to know my name. Has the title of 'most beautiful' spread that far?"

"So it really is you! You killed my two brothers!"

The black-clad man's face instantly turned ferocious, as if he wanted to tear Yao Ranran apart alive.

Mu Xin and Mo Rui were both shocked by his sudden change in attitude.

"When did you kill his brothers?"

Mu Xin looked at her curiously.

Yao Ranran looked puzzled. "I did not. Did you misunderstand something?"

The black-clad man said angrily, "I cannot mistake anyone else! The black-clad men in Qingshui Country—do you dare say they were not killed by your hands?"

Hearing Qingshui Country triggered Yao Ranran's memory.

She stared at the black-clad man in surprise. "You and him are brothers? Then you said two brothers died, meaning the other one was not killed by me, right?"

"Bullshit. Do not think you can escape responsibility! I do not know when or where my brother died at your hands, but I know it was you. Before he died, he sent us a talisman message warning us to be careful of you!"

The black-clad man's rage made steam rise from his head.

Yao Ranran looked at him blankly. She truly felt wronged.

Everyone present fully believed the black-clad man's words.

Mu Xin immediately pulled Mo Rui back to a safe distance, watching her warily.

"So beautiful in appearance, yet so ruthless in heart," Mo Rui murmured in fear.

If he had not conceded early, all his millennia of cultivation would have been wasted.

Mu Xin sighed. "Yes, at first I almost let her appearance deceive me too."
