Chapter 3
After breakfast Harry managed to convince the other campers to suit up for battle. It wasn't really that hard convincing the assembled half bloods to do as he asked because the son of Poseidon had proved his intelligence and skills time and time again, saving the day. Each of the fighters received a special armored body suit the phoenix animagus had enchanted himself over the past few months. The warlock's troops wouldn't be going into battle without some extra protection. A portal was generated by the mage to take the campers directly to the Academy which was conveniently fairly close to the Empire State Building and therefore Mount Olympus.
There were around one hundred campers present thanks mostly to the efforts of Harry and his mates. More half bloods would have been lost in the war or would have turned to the other side without the healing talents or the hope the heir of Poseidon provided. Chiron was not present because the ancient Centaur was trying to rally support among his kind. Therefore the phoenix animagus was in charge.
"Ok, what's the plan Percy?" Annabeth queried for the sake of the half bloods assembled.
"Most of the Olympians are busy fighting Typhon. First we need to check the current state of Olympus," Harry explained calmly. "Kronos will be attacking soon."
When the campers reached their destination they found the usual security guard was waiting at the desk by the entrance of the Empire State Building.
"Are you a school group? We are going to be closing soon," the guard pointed out.
"Why do you even bother pretending if you can see our weapons? We need to get to the sixth hundredth floor," the heir of Poseidon declared briskly, no time for games.
The commanding presence and aura of the wizard caused the guard to say, "You know the way then."
After an uneventful elevator ride which took several trips the campers were assembled before the floating bridge which led to Olympus. The city of the Olympian gods was almost deserted but that didn't stop the campers that had never been there from gaping and looking around at the palaces and obvious splendor with awe. Harry sensed the minor gods, muses, and a few Cyclopes throughout the city as he led the way to the palace at the top.
"I have to admit that I am really glad for your wards," Annabeth muttered to her boyfriend as the group passed under an archway which was between giant marble statues of Hera and Zeus.
Hera was rather upset with Annabeth and had cursed the daughter of Athena. But the grey eyed young woman's partner had provided her with personal wards which made it so Hera's minions (cows) couldn't locate Annabeth. Now that Annabeth and Thalia were so powerful in their own right the enchantments their man had given them were even stronger, fed by the two beauties' more substantial energy cores.
"What are those blue lights?" Pollux shouted loud enough for all present to hear while pointing towards blue lights heading towards Olympus.
The lights seemed to shimmer out of existence before they reached the city. Harry could detect the wind gods protecting Olympus from attacks by air.
"Don't worry about it. The lights are just a little magic from Hecate," Harry informed those under his command.
The group walked unopposed into the throne room in the main palace.
"Hello Lady Hestia," the Potter male greeted the goddess before any of the other half bloods noticed her near her hearth.
The goddess now in the form of a grown woman greeted, "Welcome demigods. You are all welcome here." Taking a closer look at the heir of Poseidon Hestia added, "How interesting. You are unlike any I have come across before Percy Jackson. You bear the power of Achilles' curse without the mortal flaw. I did not think that was possible before this day."
The goddess' words caused a stir among the campers and a lot of whispering but Harry paid it no mind. Hestia was quite perceptive. After becoming married to the goddess of the River Styx, the sorcerer had been informed of one of his new wife's unique traits. Styx had the ability to turn mortals nearly invulnerable if the mortals that bathed in her river were strong enough but she also had another power that none but Dianna herself had known about. Dianna could make her immortal husband completely invulnerable to physical harm if she concentrated all of her focus on him when he went into battle. Dianna hadn't revealed this talent to her last husband because of their disagreement over sides in the last Titan war and he had died before the war had ended. Currently Dianna was under the protection of a phase cloak in her husband's home on mars surrounded by the strongest wards that existed in that universe. Additionally Persephone was standing guard over the daughter of Oceanus while the blonde beauty ensured their husband would come to no harm in the battle to come. This protection was what Hestia had sensed.
"I think you know why we are here," Harry suggested to the goddess.
"Yes we do Percy Jackson," the voice of Hermes replied as the messenger god shimmered into existence.
"I will take my leave now," Hestia spoke up before vanishing.
"Percy," an unhappy looking Hermes greeted.
"Lord Hermes, George, Martha," the phoenix animagus greeted the god and the two snakes on the deity's scepter.
"Did you bring a rat for us?" The male snake head inquired.
Before Martha could chide George as usual for his impoliteness the warlock conjured a rat with his hand in his pocket and tossed it to the snake heads. The two reptiles snatched the rodent from the air.
"Campers, go check the perimeter of Olympus and have a look about," the sorcerer instructed the assembled half bloods.
Thalia and Annabeth didn't go anywhere. Nico was helping prepare a little surprise from the underworld. Grover was still gathering the nature spirits for battle. Tyson was helping Poseidon.
"So I assume Zeus is being a dumbass again and ignoring the advice of Athena about the threat to Olympus," Harry declared, causing the entire thrown room to shudder at the force of the blast of lightning that struck nearby due to Zeus' anger.
"I would be careful about making such statements Percy, especially here. Athena did advise Zeus that Typhon is likely only one enemy that threatens Olympus but father is stubborn. Athena had to fight to get me sent back here. Father wasn't about to send his greatest strategist from the front lines where there is a confirmed threat to meet a potential enemy," Hermes explained.
"So Zeus had Aeolus send his minions to prevent air travel to Olympus by anyone but the gods," surmised Poseidon's heir.
"Indeed," agreed a surprised Hermes.
The messenger god was surprised at the fact that the green eyed demigod had guessed the truth regarding the King of the Winds' protection. Aeolus' minions should have been hard to detect for someone who didn't have wind related powers. The form of travel the gods used which appeared like teleporting to mortals was simply another form of air travel. The gods flew through the air at super fast speeds but the wind gods were fast enough to react.
"There are things far older and far more powerful than a few minor wind gods," pointed out the phoenix animagus.
"This is true…but this is the best we can do for now. It is more likely Kronos will have to march through the city and ride the elevators up here. I just can't see Kronos doing that," Hermes declared.
"I can see Kronos doing whatever he must to get his revenge upon his children. Could you have foreseen Kronos using the body of a demigod to return to corporeal form a few years ago?" The warlock probed.
"You should not have brought up that subject Percy Jackson," Hermes growled warningly as his expression darkened. As the god grew to his full twelve foot height and his caduceus morphed into an energy weapon that resembled a cattle prod Hermes said to Annabeth, "And you girl could have saved my son if not for those wards on your precious Academy. Luke would have come to you to ask for your help."
As the god's anger towards Annabeth built a sudden and violent wave of energy washed over the room. A power greater than that possessed by the Olympian council member hit the messenger with such brutal force it was all he could do to stay standing. Hermes switched his focus to the heir of Poseidon and beheld a glaring immortal whose glowing green eyes promised a great deal of pain should the older male not change his tone. Hermes was amazed at the level of power he beheld in Percy Jackson's aura. The god did not yet realize that the dark haired phoenix animagus was still holding back his true might.
"Hermes, do not take your anger at the Fates out on my lover," Harry growled. "You knew or suspected the destiny the Fates had decided for your son long ago. Your inability to help Luke is not Annabeth's fault."
The truth in the warlock's words deflated Hermes' anger. Harry had inquired about the Fates among his older lovers and from his father recently after having detected the manipulations of the three sisters at May Castellan's house. The Fates were a power separate from the gods and even the Titans. For eons the Fates had been manipulating mortals and immortals alike with virtual impunity. While the Fates couldn't permanently and directly kill a god or an immortal they could intervene in events enough to set the world in motion so that life would become very difficult for their targets. The Fates were powerful seers whose sight allowed them to manipulate whoever they wished. Whenever the gods had tried to interfere in the Fates wishes and save a mortal from the destiny set forth by the Fates things always ended up worse for the target than if the gods had not intervened. The Oracle of Delphi sometimes announced prophecies from the Fates. These prophecies were one tool the fates used to set events in motion, self fulfilling predictions.
This was the case with the great prophecy which Harry now found himself the subject of. But the warlock had a feeling, a hunch guided by his own minor second sight ability, that the Sight which allowed the Fates to see the future only held power over beings originally from their universe. The Potter male was not counted in that sphere of influence. The warrior wizard would buck the will of the fates once more and forge his own destiny.
The Fates had shown an agenda over the eons of maintaining a balance between what they considered good and evil. The Fates evidently thought in black and white. Quite a few of the poor choices Zeus had shown over the years had been due to the Fates' agenda. Zeus had somewhat adopted that agenda in order to keep the Fates from directly attacking Olympus. But Zeus was still a royal asshole despite his hands being somewhat tied in certain matters. Killing mortals simply to spite his brother as in the case of Nico's mother was all up to Zeus.
The both magically and verbally cowed Hermes whispered, "I will leave now to return to the front."
When the god began to glow brightly while releasing his true form he didn't notice that none of the three half bloods present looked away. Annabeth, Thalia, and their man were powerful enough now to gaze upon the true form of an immortal without harm. The trio watched as Hermes sped away in a streak of light faster than any mortal could follow using his true divine might. Hermes had gathered his full essence first because he needed to travel quite a distance to reach the battle with Typhon. Short distance traveling didn't require the full gathering of a deity's power because not as much stamina was required compared to long distance journeys.
"Do you think he was right about Luke coming to me for help if not for the wards?" Annabeth questioned as tears welled in her eyes.
Harry encircled his mate in his arms while sharing an understanding look with Thalia. The daughter of Zeus was closer in temperament to her favorite male and would have not reacted well to Luke's sudden arrival at the Academy. Therefore Annabeth would have been more receptive to Annabeth's overtures.
"It doesn't really matter love because we will save him in the end," Harry assured while Thalia hugged her grey eyed best female friend from the other side.
"What is that?" Annabeth asked as she pulled back from her lovers, sensing something powerful and magical going on.
"It feels like a sleeping charm…a really powerful one," Harry suggested while leading his mates out of the throne room where they could see the Stoll brothers heading their way.
"You guys need to see this…everyone is asleep," Connor announced.
"Morpheus is working his power," Thalia pointed out. "We knew this was likely coming after your talk with Grover."
One of the parks positioned at the edge of the floating isle had tourist binoculars like on the Empire State Building below. The campers were all crowded around the binoculars staring at the city below. The sharp eyes of the three immortal lovers made it so they didn't need the binoculars to see the millions of mortals slumbering below.
"At least it was gradual so nobody died," Annabeth was quick to point out.
"They had time to pull their cars over or at least stop and turn their engines off," Thalia added.
Turning to the amazed campers the heir of Poseidon declared, "The invasion we knew was coming has begun. Prepare yourselves for the hardest fight of your lives."
The water wizard waved his hand which caused a nearby lake to swell and envelope the force of half bloods. Before the campers knew it they were standing on the street in front of the Empire State Building completely dry.
"We need intel on the enemy movements," Thalia declared as she withdrew a shrunken bowl shaped device which looked like a pensieve.
After placing the device on the ground and tapping it with her finger Thalia stepped back as the pensieve shaped construct expanded to full size. The daughter of Zeus mentally activated the creation she and some of her sister mates had worked on with help from Daedalus. The scrying pensieve began to focus her attention on various points about the island. Wherever the brunette beauty focused her attention, the hologram being projected above the scrying pensieve displayed the current events taking place.
While examining a sleeping mortal, Pollux, one of the sons of Dionysus inquired, "Why did only the mortals fall asleep and not us as well?"
"Putting demigods to sleep takes a lot more power than with mortals," Silena spoke up to answer.
"And there simply wasn't enough power in this enchantment per any one region of space in order to put us to sleep. Our divine heritage gives us a greater resistance to magic," added Annabeth.
Part of the explanation left a lot of the campers looking confused.
"Morpheus didn't have the juice," Thalia clarified.
Throwing her best female friend an appreciative glance Annabeth whispered, "Thanks. Sometimes I forget not everyone can understand me all of the time."
"We can always understand you," Harry assured his lover.
"I have located some of the enemy forces," Thalia announced, drawing the group's attention to the hologram which showed a fleet of speedboats in Long Island Sound racing towards Manhattan.
The boats were filled with a mixture of monsters and demigods. The banner of Kronos, a purple material with a black scythe etched in, flapped at the back of the boats. Thalia began manipulating the hologram to show invading forces entering the perimeter of the island all over. In the water near Ellis Island a ferry progressed towards Manhattan. Dracaene, giants, Telekhines, several dragons, rogue Cyclopes, even a WWII Sherman Tank was among the enemy forces.
"Kronos has erected a time dilation field around Manhattan with a fifty mile radius," Poseidon's heir announced after extending his senses for a few moments. "Time moves slower the closer you get to Manhattan. The mortals are being influenced to avoid heading towards Manhattan, no doubt Hecate's work. Kronos has to be pretty taxed to maintain that field in his weakened condition."
"Weakened condition…I thought he was fully restored," Lee Fletcher put forth.
"If Kronos was really returned Luke's body would be burnt to ashes. Luke is only a transitionary step for the Titan Lord," Annabeth explained. "A Titan's full aura is thirty times more powerful than the aura of a god naturally. Of course the worship of a number of mortals or other beings can alter that balance of power. We don't have time to get into the mechanics of power right now."
"Alright…I'll take care of the boats. The rest of you are going to split into groups and hold the entrances to the island. There are roughly 250 enemies and just over a hundred of us. So each of you kill two and a half monsters and we are good," joked the warlock, eliciting a few laughs. "The armor I have provided you should help even those odds. I expect we might get some aid in the near future. "Lee, your cabin will protect the Williamsburg Bridge. Connor and Travis between the two halves of your cabin cover the Manhattan and Brooklyn Bridges. Silena cover the Brooklyn Battery Tunnel and Katie take the Demeter cabin to guard the Queens-Midtown Tunnel. Clarisse take the Ares cabin to the 59th Street Bridge and hold it. Beckendorf you have the Lincoln Tunnel. And our friends who are approaching behind you will take the Holland Tunnel," finished the green eyed mage as the campers turned to see a group of forty Hunters of Artemis strolling up the street being led by Zoe Nightshade.
The gorgeous blonde daughter of Atlas strode through the grinning campers who parted for her and embraced her favorite male with a warm hug. Zoe followed up by drawing her head back from being pressed against his neck and capturing her man's lips in a searing kiss that caused several whistles to be let out by the crowd.
"The time for subtlety is over my love," Zoe whispered as she broke the kiss to breathe before nipping her man's ear playfully.
Nobody from Camp Half Blood raised any questions about the lead Hunter's actions but there were quite a few raised eyebrows. It was an unspoken understanding that anything involving women was possible for the gorgeous son of Poseidon.
"You guys can communicate with each other through these enchanted communicators," Annabeth informed the fighters while handing out the devices from a bottomless bag. "These mirrors are something the administrators at the Academy have been working on for a while now and have finally perfected. Monsters can't track you through the mirrors. You can keep them after the battle."
A cheer went up from the Campers at this announcement while they examined the small devices which were intentionally shaped like a cell phone in order to disguise the constructs in the mortal world. The Hunters all already wore the enchanted armor. Artemis had quickly asked her talented mate to craft the armor for her girls after learning of his true abilities.
"We will get through this battle, all of us," Harry declared before waving his hand in a sweeping gesture while causing a nearby fire hydrant to let loose with a torrent of water.
The wall of liquid swept over the assembled fighters wherein multiple portals opened up to deliver the warriors safely to their assigned stations. The mage wasn't worried about his friends. Each group unknowingly was accompanied by a goddess or Titan. The phoenix's animagus many powerful lovers were employing his time travel gauntlets to fight on multiple fronts of the conflict. Harry wrapped his arm around Annabeth and flamed her to Madison Square Park. The daughter of Athena strolled up to a bronze statue, or what appeared to most people to be a statue.
"Let me guess…this William Seward was a demigod," the warlock surmised as he examined the automaton disguised as a statue Daedalus had created.
Over the years the ancient inventor had secreted many automatons in the city surrounding Olympus just in case he ever needed an army. Since learning of his precaution the reality traveling Potter had stepped up production of these automaton warriors while also adding some additional enchantments of his own to the existing constructs. It would be a lot harder to destroy one of these new and improved automaton warriors than Daedalus' old model.
"I believe he was a minor demigod son of Hebe," Annabeth confirmed. With a look of concentration flashing across her attractive features the brunette channeled a bit of her man's abilities and hit the automaton with an activation spell before declaring, "Command sequence Daedalus twenty-three. Defend Manhattan against the forces of the Titan Kronos and provide assistance to any friendly nature spirits, half bloods from Camp Half Blood, and Hunters of Artemis. Begin the mass activation sequence."
The automaton quickly stood and leapt from the marble pedestal, cracking the pavement of the sidewalk before taking off running. The upgrades to the automaton models included some enchantments for better control and reasoning based off of wizarding portraits. This would make the automatons follow orders better than previous versions. The just activated construct would travel throughout the city activating more of its brethren whom would do likewise while relaying the initial orders until the entire force of automatons were ready for battle.
Just then the sounds of war began to fill the island city. Annabeth walked over to her mate and wrapped her arm around him. The pair disappeared again, this time reappearing over the New York Harbor where the Hudson and East Rivers came together to empty into the bay. Without fanfare the lovers dropped into the water. Annabeth had no trouble breathing thanks to her companion's powers. The warlock followed his water based senses to the spot where the currents of the two rivers equalized and joined together.
In order to get his targets' attention the mage raised his hands, pointing one appendage towards the mouth of each river, and unleashed a wave of energy towards the two channels which was basically a focused vanishing charm. Quite a bit of the junk and debris cluttering the river bottom along with some of the murkiness of the water disappeared. At the same time the green eyed male sent out a call with his mind using some of his greater power, requesting an audience with the god of each river.
Two columns of silt took shape in front of the two children of the gods before condensing into two large figures. The being on the right was humanoid with an outfit composed of rags, seaweed, and a coat fashioned from bottle caps and six pack holders. An algae covered face was adorned with a beard in need of a trimming while blue eyes gazed at the two new arrivals with curiosity. The being on the other side of the bay looked somewhat like a Telekhine but with more wolfish features and eyes that glowed bright green.
"Why do you disturb us half bloods?" The bearded god of the Hudson inquired.
"I'll be direct since time is short. We would like you to keep Kronos' forces from reaching Manhattan across your bodies," proposed Harry.
"And what is in this deal for us kid?" The wolfish spirit of the East River demanded.
"These," the phoenix animagus replied as he held up his hands and caused two sand dollars to materialize in each. "One sand dollar a piece for your initial help and then another each because I might need to take control of the bodies of water you are part of at some point during the fighting or in the future and I feel it's only right that you be compensated for this."
Sand dollars were concentrated cleaning magic that could be used to purify large bodies of water. It was widely known throughout the bodies of water of Earth that Poseidon had become the most skilled crafter of sand dollars. The ruler of the sea had trained his heir in that particular trade as well.
"You have yourself a deal, son of Poseidon," Hudson announced while the East River god nodded his agreement.
The water mage willed the currents to take the compensation to each party involved. Immediately Annabeth and her mate sensed the wave of power go out from the two deities.
"There, we just took care of those filthy monsters and traitors," the East River spirit informed the two visitors. "I hope we can deal in the future."
"I will be sure to keep you two in mind," the Potter male agreed before wrapping his arm around his grey eyed lover and shooting to the surface.
Almost as soon as the couple broke the surface they received a call that help was needed to defend the Williamsburg Bridge. No sooner did the pair reach the shore than they disappeared in a flash of flames.
Even though it was quite dark out due to the sun being long ago set the bridge area itself was brightly lit from the fires of battle. Flaming arrows and spears flew to and from both sides of the conflict while vehicles blazed nearby. The enemy was advancing while the Apollo campers fought to delay the encroaching force. The enemy possessed a phalanx of dracaene at their lead with shields interlocked and spears held straight. Another hundred monsters backed up the dracaene. Hellhounds tried to drag a few children of Apollo away but some object always fell on the dark creature, causing it to burst into dust. Annabeth and Harry could see Calypso under her phase cloak rescuing any allies that got in over their head. In the center of the enemy formation marched the Minotaur.
"It looks like Gaea has been busy helping more monsters reform more quickly than normal," Annabeth commented.
"I think she's doing more than just helping them reform. My old friend looks bigger than the last time I dusted him," Harry pointed out.
"Like it will matter," the brunette beauty answered with a snort at the thought of the horned monster actually presenting much of a challenge to her man.
Almost as soon as the couple materialized the Minotaur picked up his slayer's scent. With a bellow of rage the creature picked up a white limousine and tossed it at the warlock. Annabeth didn't even flinch as her lover caught the vehicle, anchoring his essence in the fabric of reality while using his mage granted abilities to absorb the two ton vehicle's momentum. There was silence from the enemy army for a second as they stared in shock. During that silence the Potter male blasted the vehicle back towards the enemy ranks with a highly energized banishing charm. The speed of the returning projectile was much greater than before and therefore the dracaene didn't have time to move out of the way before a dozen of their number was smashed by the long white limo.
"That was awesome Percy!" Lee Fletcher exclaimed as he ran over.
The counselor's cabin mates were taking advantage of the disorientation that comes with having a limo dropped on your front lines to attack the enemy with renewed vigor. Every Apollo cabin camper's quiver had been enchanted while the students were at the Academy via runes so that new arrows were conjured to replenish the used projectiles. The conjurations generally didn't last more than five minutes but that was enough time to do their damage.
One of Lee's siblings unleashed an enchanted arrow which let loose a blast of sound and disintegrated several monsters while the others nearby clutched their ears in pain. Another Apollo camper loosed a projectile that went off like a grenade except with fire much hotter than any mortal weapon could generate.
"They must feel pretty confident with you here Percy. Those arrows were our fallback plan. We don't have too many of them with us," Lee shouted over the noise.
"Are the rest still in stable storage at the Academy?" Annabeth inquired.
The magical arrows and other dangerous enchanted weapons were stored in a specially warded chamber which kept the contents inside inert until they were needed. The wards used a variation of a time dilation field to slow time down inside the room.
"Yes," Lee confirmed. "We used a lot of what we had on us up initially and were saving those last few as a fallback plan."
"I will get someone to bring you more," the daughter of Athena assured as she activated a silencing field rune on her wrist communicator which shielded her and a small space around her from sounds of the outside world.
"I am going to go send our enemies fleeing back to Brooklyn," Harry informed Lee.
"We've got your back Percy," Lee replied, confident in his leader's ability to do as stated.
"Hold on a second," Annabeth spoke up as she finished her orders to a Naiad under her mate's command. "I am not letting you go into battle without a kiss for luck."
Annabeth stepped up close to her man and placed her hands on the side of his head. The nature enhanced beauty had to stand on her tiptoes slightly to press her mouth against her favorite male's lips. The brunette woman slid her tongue into the Potter male's mouth. When he responded in kind Annabeth sucked on her man's tongue. The kiss conveyed the passion the couple shared.
"Win this war and the orgy to follow will have you smiling for the next thousand years," Annabeth purred the promise in her voice greatly encouraging her lover to succeed.
Harry turned to begin walking towards the enemy and felt his lover smack his bum, causing him to smile. The sight of the heir of Poseidon walking calmly towards their ranks with a smile on his lips certainly made the remaining dracaene quite nervous. The Minotaur let out another bellow of rage and pushed his way to the front of the Titan force. The flaming javelins several dracaene tried to launch at the warlock simply broke apart as he allowed them to hit his invulnerable skin. The hellhound that attempted to pounce on the phoenix animagus lost its head to the Sword of Gryffindor before anyone saw the green eyed male move. When more monsters moved to attack the Minotaur's roar and their fear of him forced them back.
The enraged bull hybrid pulled a double bladed war axe out of the harness strapped to his back. The blades were shaped like Greek Omegas. The Minotaur charged. The agile wizard dodged the first swing of the Omega blade and took the opportunity to twist around so that he was facing the beast with its back turned and jabbed his sword forward with a quick thrust to sever the creature's testicles. The chain male loin cloth did nothing to hinder the movement of the enchanted blade wielded by a super strong powerhouse. The bellow of pain from the now on his knees Minotaur ended as a sword slashed through his larynx along with the rest of his neck. Stunned silence fell over the previously noisy enemy force as their leader disintegrated into dust.
Turning to face the enemy force with eyes glowing bright green with repressed power the heir of the sea god demanded, "Who is next?"
Before the monsters could either attack or retreat the phoenix animagus made the first move, charging the enemy force. Several minutes later the group of monsters was nothing but scattered ashes drifting across the pavement in a wind generated by the storm bringer's emotions.
"What now?" Lee Fletcher queried as he walked up behind the victorious water manipulator.
"Now we destroy the bridge," Annabeth answered.
"What…why?" Lee demanded.
"Because Kronos is waiting on the Brooklyn side for me," the green eyed warlock replied. "I'm not going to make it so easy for him. Everyone off the bridge," Harry shouted.
The campers hastened to follow their leader's command. The three counselors walked slowly back off the bridge. Turning and facing the construct the mage raised his hand. A tongue of water rose up from the river and like a knife slashed downwards severing the bridge with a thunderous crash due to the solidity the water's wielder willed it to have.
"He won't attack again until later this evening," Annabeth declared as the sun began to rise. "The Titan Lord's forces are strongest at night."
The campers and Hunters were holed up at the Academy until morning. The infirmary was filled with campers but almost all injuries were minor. Harry went through the ward healing every single one of those injuries and giving his troops words of encouragement. The goddesses, female Titans, and females of a type somewhere in between had done their jobs well and kept the most dangerous threats at bay. After each warrior was healed he or she grabbed a shower and immediately hit their bunk in their dormitory. Each half blood had their own dormitory personalized to their own style. The only one of the phoenix animagus' mates who actually needed sleep was Rachel. And the heiress was safe vacationing with her family and another version of her mate.
Even Zoe no longer required sleep. Harry, his father, and his more powerful lovers had not long ago worked their magic to convert the demigoddess into the Titan-Goddess hybrid existence that Annabeth and Thalia enjoyed. Rachel would be made immortal by eating one of the golden apples growing on Mars when she physically matured. But after being born a mortal it would take quite a few years as an immortal before the brown haired beauty could be transformed into any type of deity safely. Over those years as an immortal Rachel's essence would soak up power, letting her physiology adapt to such energies, until she would have built up a tolerance to energy levels that would have burnt up any unprepared mortal. Since the warlock's other mates had been born with at least some divinity in them their essence was already prepared for the transition.
The reality traveler and his partners took the time while the others were resting and rejuvenating to make sure all of their plans and defenses were in place. Kronos was in for one hell of a surprise if he thought Manhattan could be taken while the campers and their allies were defending the island.
As the sun became visible with the coming dawn the perceptive phoenix animagus and his mates could hear car and smoke alarms going off followed by clouds of black smoke drifting skywards. Ovens and other heated appliances had been left on and were now causing fires. The sorcerer mentally contacted Choria and Furusia. A squadron of naiads was dispatched to put out the fires and help any mortals unknowingly in trouble. Shortly after that Grover arrived at the Academy.
"What have you got for me Grover?" The warrior wizard prompted.
"The nature spirits have been prepared for battle within the city," Grover explained to his friend. "Dropping your name certainly helped to get the ball rolling. When I mentioned that I am friends with the two new nature entities that have been saving nature spirits left and right most were skeptical at first. Then Annabeth and Thalia showed up in their true forms and that silenced all of the skeptics."
Grover had long ago been let in on more of his friends' true nature. The satyr didn't quite know everything yet, like the fact his best male friend was partly from another universe. But Grover did know that Percy Jackson was really powerful and skilled at just about everything. That was enough for the goat hybrid.
"We have been countering the hellhounds who have been shadow traveling within our lines. That stopped after Annabeth and Thalia worked some magic," Grover explained. The magic worked had been wards the two beauties had crafted to block the enemy shadow travelers using knowledge learned from their favorite male's extensive archives of magical tomes. "A young dragon in Harlem almost overwhelmed us and probably would have killed a lot of wood nymphs but then Choria and Furusia showed up and froze the dragon solid in a block of ice."
The two Naiads who led their lord's army of their kind had undergone a similar upgrade to their abilities thanks to Poseidon and his heir. Now Choria and Furusia would give ocean goddesses a run for their money. Grover continued his report with mentions of giants, Telekhines, and other nasty monsters. In each case the nature spirits had taken down the enemy either with or without help. So far no fatalities had occurred, only injuries ranging from mild to severe. Thalia and Annabeth had become quite adept at healing magic since their upgrade with the assistance of Pan's essence. The two beauties had or were currently via time travel in the process of healing the injured forces. Even as the close nit family was planning and resting in the Academy other versions of them were fighting the enemy forces with allies on other fronts via time travel. It could get quite confusing but the super beings seemed to be handling the task admirably. It was helpful that Persephone, Styx, Artemis, and to some extent Calypso had some experience in this arena.
Divine beings almost never had their entire essence in one place unless they required their full power to accomplish a task. Most of the time, such entities existed in multiple places. This experience helped the goddesses and Titaness beauty to adjust to time travel duplication.
"My forces have also spotted a golden being on the Jersey shore gathering an army who can only be a Titan," Grover added.
"Hyperion," Thalia spoke up to provide a name.
"We know about him," Annabeth assured. "We have plans in place to deal with Hyperion."
Just then one of Zoe's Hunters came running in and whispered a message to her commander.
"A Titan wielding a flag of truce wants to meet nearby," Zoe informed everyone in the room.
"This should be quite interesting," Annabeth declared, a sentiment the rest of the beings in the room agreed with.
Chapter 4
Shortly afterwards Harry, Thalia, Zoe, and Annabeth were visibly walking towards the meeting point with a phase cloaked Calypso following close behind.
"It must be Gaea's influence that has the Hyperboreans in this fight. They have always been a rather peaceful sort unless provoked," Calypso informed her mates as the group gazed at the giant white flag wielding creature standing tall before them.
"From the land beyond the gods," Annabeth confirmed, referring to polar regions of the world to explain where the Hyperboreans hailed from.
"Who is the guy in the tux?" Thalia questioned as her senses zeroed in on the male at the meeting point with an empousa on his arm.
"That would be Prometheus. I don't imagine he is very fond of Zeus. His imprisonment was far worse than mine," Calypso explained.
At that point the campers arrived at the park chosen as a meeting point where they could get a better look at the seven foot tall Titan. Prometheus' face was covered in scratches and his dark black hair was held in a ponytail. The scratches were from Zeus' punishment of being tied to a rock for millennia while vultures had at the Titan's face.
"It is a great honor to meet you Percy Jackson," Prometheus, the Titan of forethought among other things, greeted while gazing intently directly at Percy. This statement was greeted by a hiss from the empousa. "Telia my dear, why don't you go make yourself comfortable on that bench." The words were not a suggestion and the empousa sauntered off.
"Hello Prometheus. I am an admirer of your work," Harry greeted while shaking the Titan's hand, catching the elder immortal by surprise.
"Yes, it does seem to have turned out well even if Zeus rewarded my efforts with torture," Prometheus responded.
Prometheus had stolen fire from the gods and had given it to man which basically resulted in the civilization man enjoyed to that day.
"Let's take a seat," suggested the phoenix animagus while leading his party over to a picnic table which wasn't quite large enough to seat the group.
Harry laid his hand on the table and caused it to expand with his abilities.
"Impressive, your father has been teaching you much," Prometheus complemented as he sat down at the opposite side of the table from the warlock and his mates.
The thirty foot tall giant chose that moment to stumble around a bit and accidentally crush a few of the playground toys.
Prometheus ignored the northern giant and instead got down to business, declaring, "Although your efforts to this point have been impressive you cannot hope to hold out for long. Even with the full backing of the gods you would not succeed in defending Olympus."
"My dear Prometheus, I think you will find that my forces and I are more than up to the task of defending Olympus," Harry replied with a confident and calm smile without showing any arrogance.
The confidence reinforced the power in the warlock's voice, making Prometheus pause for a moment with thought.
"As you may know I am the Titan of forethought. I have seen the future and know you will lose," Prometheus declared earnestly.
"You see what the Fates allow you to see. We both know how tricky those three can be," pointed out Harry. "Are you sure you aren't letting your desire for revenge cloud your judgment?"
"I won't lie and say I don't want revenge but I am fairly certain the future I see is right. Your forces are impressive but they are not a match for my family," Prometheus pointed out.
"Things are rarely what they seem. Kronos likes to play his tricks. I have tricks too. Let's look at the record shall we. I have beaten Luke and Kronos at every turn. I have spoiled all of their victories. Every time Kronos has tried to manipulate me it has ended in defeat," the wizard said. "Besides that…don't let your desire for revenge on Zeus allow you to harm the innocent. Zeus is a prick, I won't deny that. Even his children agree." Thalia was nodding in agreement with her mate. "If you truly aren't letting your desire for revenge dictate your actions then stay neutral. Oceanus has chosen to remove himself from this conflict."
Prometheus winced at that point.
"Kronos was quite displeased at that bit of news from our brother. I don't know how you and your father convinced Oceanus to become neutral again," the Titan declared.
"Oceanus simply saw reason when my father bested him in one on one combat," explained the Hallow Master.
"Yes, you see now that not all Titans are unreasonable or evil like the gods make us out to be. Surely Calypso showed you that much Percy," Prometheus suggested, hurrying to capitalize on the time the Titan forces knew Poseidon's heir had spent on Ogygia.
"Oh yes, I know Calypso is most definitely not evil," Harry replied with a grin while sharing amused glances with his mates.
"Something amuses you," an uncertain Prometheus said, catching on and finding himself immensely curious.
Reaching forward with his hand and stopping just in front of Prometheus' forehead the water wizard inquired, "May I?"
"Yes," the Titan consented after sensing the reasonable son of the sea god meant him no ill will.
Harry channeled a spell through his fingertip as he pressed the digit to the Titan's forehead. Immediately Prometheus could perceive Calypso.
"Hello uncle," a smiling Calypso greeted her relative from the end of the picnic table. "Your companions cannot see me."
"They can't hear us either," the wizard added after throwing up a few specialized silencing wards.
"But we thought you were still trapped on Ogygia," a surprised Titan declared.
"As my favorite male pointed out…things are not always as they appear. Trust me when I say uncle that Kronos can't hope to win," the beautiful Titaness assured.
"This is quite surprising. I did not foresee this," Prometheus said, whispering the last part.
The enhanced beings at the table overheard the whispered statement.
"That is because the Fates cannot see everything Prometheus," Calypso assured. "Percy defies the Fates and always comes out on top."
"Mmm…I like it when Percy is on top," Thalia quipped, causing her family to chuckle despite the situation.
Thalia's comment actually drew a small smile from Prometheus.
"I truly did not expect to see you free Calypso let alone siding with the gods," the male Titan told his niece.
With an indifferent shrug Calypso explained, "I let go of my anger towards the Olympians for the most part. You know Poseidon was never as bad as his brothers. Let's just say Hades has gone through a major change in viewpoint lately. That just leaves Zeus. Although he doesn't really realize it yet his power base has been greatly eroded. If he chooses to fight us he will lose. I have found far more rewarding aspects of life to focus on," the beautiful brown haired female declared while giving the heir of Poseidon a warm smile.
"I am not so sure I can let go of the hate I feel for Zeus for what he did to me," Prometheus admitted.
"You will never know until you try. You might surprise yourself," Calypso suggested. "Besides…you can find little ways to make Zeus pay over the coming millennia. If you kill him you won't get that chance."
"You make a good point my niece," Prometheus mused. "Alright…I shall agree to return to neutrality. I am not sure what to do with this now," the Titan added as a jar materialized in his palm.
Harry recognized the object by its powerful magical signature which Poseidon had described to the reality traveler in his studies.
"Pandora's jar…her pithos," Zoe observed. "That was a cruel trap for humanity."
The jar had been mistaken in myth for a box. Zeus had devised the trap to punish Pandora and her family. Pandora was Prometheus' sister-in-law.
"Indeed," the Titan agreed. "It can only be opened by a child of man. Only Elpis, the Spirit of Hope, remains inside. Hope will not abandon humanity without first being given permission. Kronos wanted me to give it to you as a way to signal your surrender Percy."
"Then perhaps you should still give it to me. I will look after it and make sure nothing happens to it," suggested the water wizard.
"Alright," Prometheus agreed before handing the jar to the warlock who banished it into his trunk. "I shall vanish now for the duration of your conflict with my siblings," added the Titan before disappearing.
Before the empousa could react a blast of golden light struck her down, emanating from Harry's palm.
"Uh oh," the blue giant declared.
"Are you going to fight me too giant or do you want to go back to your homeland?" The mage's magically enhanced voice carried up to the large being's head.
It looked like the effort to come to a decision pained the giant but finally it replied, "Home."
"Smart choice," Annabeth declared before tossing a portkey onto the giant's foot, causing the large blue being to vanish in a swirl of light back to the far north.
When the small group of campers and their companions returned to the Academy most of the fighters were still sleeping. In addition to the sleep aiding enchantments in each room of the Academy the residents could obtain more rest should they need it via the wards on the school. Harry as the ward master could activate a time dilation field to speed up or slow down time relative to the outside world. If the warlock sped up time inside the Academy this would give the inhabitants more time to rest before they had to fight again.
It was basically just a waiting game until Kronos and his forces attacked again. Through their intelligence network the forces defending Olympus and New York knew where their enemy was camped and placed for the most part. Kronos himself was recharging his powers inside of Medusa's old shop, Aunty Em's Garden Gnome Emporium. Hundreds of tents with campfires burning were spread throughout the backwoods of New Jersey around the Gorgon's shop.
Soon enough intelligence came in that Hyperion was moving the bulk of the Titan forces into Central Park. In short order a well rested battalion of half bloods, Hunters, and nature spirits moved to intercept the enemy force. The two groups met at the reservoir near the park.
"The enemy force is quite large," Thalia observed.
"But so is our Percy," Annabeth quipped, causing all of the warlock's lovers present to smile and nod their agreement.
"Jokes about my manhood aside Hyperion is mine," growled the phoenix animagus as he prepared himself mentally for the battle ahead.
"There was never any doubt," Zoe declared.
The group focused on the coming fight as they heard the enemy force moving through the woods. Hyperion, a golden skinned Titan, was the first to emerge from the forest followed by a group of Laistrygonians wielding huge bronze war axes. Scores of smaller monsters appeared behind the more powerful members of their army.
"Into your positions," Thalia's voice rang out to the assembled defenders.
The small group of campers that wasn't guarding the tunnels and bridges into Manhattan formed up with the nature spirits and several hunters into the predetermined arrangement. The enemy army would have to enter Manhattan along the narrow path circling the reservoir. When the enemy divided and charged on either side of the reservoir preplaced defenses kicked in. The enemy burned under the assault of Greek fire traps.
The phoenix animagus concentrated and summoned giant fireballs the size of cars which he hurled at the ice giants. The core of the fireballs burned with the intensity of Fiendyfire. The giants burst into ash when they were struck with the projectiles. Thalia was summoning lightning out of the sky into the ranks of Dracaenae. The enemy started running into each other in one section and even falling to friendly fire in another section of the monster army due to the aura of confusion Annabeth projected. Vines and grass and trees grew rapidly and attacked the enemy while nature spirits swarmed out of the woods at the enemy forces. The defenders seemed to possess the spirit of luck that day because no mortal wounds were sustained by the protectors of Manhattan. The super fast time traveling and out of phase mates of the son of Poseidon did their jobs well keeping their comrades alive.
After dispatching the last of the ice giants present Harry turned his attention to Hyperion who even then was charging towards Poseidon's heir across the water without sinking below the surface a bit. When someone threw a firebomb at the Titan he simply absorbed the flames out of the air. The Lord of Light and Titan of the East was heading straight towards the wizard. The reality traveler charged forward onto the water, running across the top. Hyperion raised his blade and the warlock responded by summoning his own sword.
"I don't see why you would give us any trouble, brat of the sea god," Hyperion declared.
Harry didn't even pause to talk before he slashed his blade at Hyperion's weapon. Where the two swords met, an explosion of sound and power rushed out from. The two super beings clashed. The phoenix animagus discovered that his opponent was also an accomplished sword fighter. Plasma arced along the sun Titan's blade while energy willed into cold arced along Harry's weapon. The result was a violent struggle of forces rooted in the power cores of the two enemies. Waves of water were being thrown up from the clashing forces. Hyperion's body ignited in a burst of light so bright everyone within sight was blinded. Harry had been ready for the trick though due to his lessons with his father pertaining to the fighting styles of the old enemies of the gods. A spell over the warlock's eyes automatically adjusted his vision to the more luminous environment. A spear of ice shot up from the ocean between Hyperion's legs. The ice exploded into steam when it contacted the Titan's burning bits but it certainly hadn't felt pleasant. Hyperion screamed in pain.
Harry took the opportunity to summon a sphere of water around himself and the sun Titan. The sphere began to contract with more ice spears materializing on the inside of the globe. The mage went out of phase just in time to allow the spears to harmlessly pass through his essence and pierce Hyperion's hide at multiple points. Plasma and golden ichor poured out of the wounds but more water rushed up to take the place of any vaporized by the heat. The wizard began turning the water into ice and collapsing the sphere more. As the sphere shrunk the sound of Hyperion's screams grew louder. The sphere changed size from the volume of a normal person to the size of a beach ball to the shape of a basketball and compressed further. The immortal's essence began to lose coherence and he simply couldn't think at the densities his being was being pressed into. The sphere reached absolute zero as its creator drew all of the heat energy out of it. The light and heat was released into the environment. Annabeth, Zoe, Thalia, Calypso, and other allied super beings present shielded the defenders from the blast.
The final enchantment the magician layered on top of the containment sphere's wards was a time dilation field that virtually froze time within the cage. The essence cage was banished by the warlock to a specially warded room within his trunk's pocket dimension. Immediately Harry jumped back in time about a day while going out of phase and transporting away to a predetermined room on Mars. Once at his destination the quite tired immortal allowed his energy levels to recharge to their maximum before rejoining the fight, reappearing as if he had never left the reservoir. None of the enemy army within a large proximity was left due to the devastation of the energy bleed off during Hyperion's containment.
"That was simply amazing!" Zoe declared.
Any further response was interrupted by a loud squeal that was familiar to anyone who had been on the quest to rescue Annabeth and Artemis from Atlas several years ago.
"It's a giant sow," Annabeth shouted moments before the flying pig flew over the reservoir and into sight.
As the pig dove towards the defending army Harry locked eyes with one of his mates. A plan passed between the telepath and his lover at the speed of thought. Thalia raised her hands to the heavens while the sea wizard gestured towards the waters below. A massive column of lightning shot down from the sky at the same time a thick lance of ice erupted from the water. The lightning was blinding which caused most to look away. The ice spear tore through the sow as the lightning surged through her form. The pink pig exploded in a cloud of dust.
"Damn guys…you make that look easy," Beckendorf declared in the silence that followed the vanquishing of the monster that no hero had previously taken down.
"They are just that good," Connor Stoll quipped as the remaining enemy forces which had intended to sneak up closer to the defenders as the sow arrived fled the field of battle.
"Come on…return to your stations guys. This war isn't over yet," Harry commanded.
The few campers that each cabin had spared to aid in the reservoir fight activated their pearl portkeys to take them back to their cabin mates. It was only a few minutes later that Kronos made his next bid to breach the island's defenses. This time the assault was at the Park Avenue tunnel. Harry immediately flamed in with his friends in tow. Kronos was present at this battle. The super beings defending Manhattan could sense the Titan king.
"Call in all forces that we can spare," Harry instructed Annabeth.
As the daughter of Athena went about her task the warlock raised his hand and projected a stream of fire towards a Hyperborean attacking a group of Annabeth's siblings. As more defenders arrived either with the conventional method or via portkeys droves of Telekhines, dracaenae, and hell hounds poured out of the tunnel. In the midst of this group appeared Kronos riding a golden chariot and flanked by two Hyperboreans. Four Laistrygonian giants ran before the Titan bearing torches. Harry projected the appearance of being tired and worn down through the use of his shape shifting and illusion generating abilities. From the smirk on Kronos' lips when he spotted the heir of the sea god the falsehood seemed to have worked.
"I have got a gift for you Jackson," Kronos declared, the smirk never leaving his lips.
A terrible roar sounded in the distance. Harry knew about the Lydian drakon Kronos had brought for the battle. This breed of drakon was the oldest variety of drakon. Drakons were even older than dragons. Suddenly the concrete roadway of Park Avenue burst and a terrible monster slithered out. The drakon roared, shattering thousands of windows in the surrounding buildings. The drakon was basically a larger and more terrible version of the basilisk Harry had killed in his old universe while attending Hogwarts. The difference was that this drakon was two hundred feet long, as thick as a school bus, heavily armored, and it spit highly corrosive poison. Luckily this monster did not possess a killing gaze although it did have the ability to paralyze its victims in fear if said victim looked in the drakon's eyes.
The two armies suddenly became aware of a high pitched whistling sound like something dropping fast from an extremely great height. The super beings present noticed the object approaching the drakon first but the rest of the fighters present quickly became aware of the projectile by its effects as it crashed…straight on top of the drakon. Calypso's powerful feet impacted the drakon's head with enough force to crack mountains. The incredibly strong daughter of Atlas smashed the drakon's skull like she was merely breaking an egg, sending shards of bone into the soft tissue of the monster's brain. As the fleshy parts of the monster began to crumble to dust while the hard armored shell stayed behind as a trophy Calypso walked out of the ruins of the monster looking as good as usual, her aura burning off any monster goo that would have normally coated her.
"Calypso," Kronos roared.
"Hello uncle. It is so nice to see you after so long," Calypso declared sarcastically.
Before more words could be exchanged a hunting horn sounded. The sound didn't come from the Hunters who were all participating in the battle. The sound of the horn grew louder. The fighting temporarily stopped as everyone looked around in confusion. An entire section of Kronos' army suddenly sprouted arrows as a massive force of Centaurs dropped into normal speed from their unusual method of travel. At the same time the sound of artillery weapons going off made its presence known. Harry's ship the Naiad dropped its invisibility cloak to reveal itself sitting down the street a short ways on a river that hadn't been present minutes before. The magic of the ship had forged the river temporarily from the nearby bay. Celestial bronze artillery shells mixed with a Greek fire accelerant began peppering the enemy forces. The army of monsters turned to flee but Calypso started collapsing the tunnel to block their retreat.
"I will kill you for this Jackson," Kronos roared while charging towards his greatest foe.
The two powerhouses met at a fast run. The force of the two super beings colliding knocked every mortal being fighting off their feet. The closest monsters were sent hurtling dozens of feet through the air. Neither Harry nor Kronos lost their footing. The immensely strong phoenix animagus punched Kronos in the face, sending the Titan reeling backwards. Kronos waved his hand which generated a temporal freezing field around his opponent's feet. Basically the localized time dilation field was supposed to immobilize the water wizard's lower half. But the crafty sorcerer was prepared for such a trick, having been briefed by his father on some of his grandfather's favorite tactics.
"You aren't the only one who can play with time," Harry growled before cancelling the time dilation field out with one of his own using his wizarding abilities.
"That is not possible!" Kronos barked. "I am the Lord of Time!"
Just then Nico arrived at the head of his father's army. Hades melted out of the shadows and began aiding Calypso and the other super beings defending Olympus in decimating the forces of Kronos. The army of the dead proved to distract Kronos. Harry took the opportunity to rush his grandfather. But the rush was a faint. Before the wizard reached his opponent he released a massive blasting curse before he apparated behind Kronos. The Titan didn't even move to avoid the blast, thinking it no match for his invulnerable form. Kronos was right but the force of the attack sent him hurtling back into the waiting arms of his grandson. Poseidon's heir caught the Titan and immediately flamed away. Kronos attempted to resist the teleportation. At his full power the Lord of Time and to a limited extent space might have succeeded in resisting the wormhole based teleportation but Kronos was nowhere near his full power.
Moments later Kronos and Harry reappeared on the other side of the Hudson River…right in the middle of the fight between the Olympian gods and Typhon. Typhon was a column of storm rapidly approaching the river. Typhon's head was constantly shifting into the form of different hideous monsters. The Titan's muddy green skin resembled rotten meat with quite a few scorched spots from his imprisonment beneath a volcano. The humanoid being's hands were tipped with sharp talons. The giant's legs were scaly like the hide of a dragon.
"No…no this isn't right! I shouldn't be here," Kronos bellowed in rage at his sudden change of location.
Kronos had made a bad life choice for his bellowing brought the attention of the Olympians upon him. Harry teleported out of the way just in time to avoid the lightning bolt blast from Zeus. Kronos wasn't so lucky. The Titan cried out in pain as he collapsed to the ground writhing in agony. The king of the gods broke away from the fight with Typhon and touched down on the ground in front of his still weakened father. The winds blew turbulently around their master.
"You should not have come here, father. You cannot hope to beat me without your true form," Zeus declared as energy crackled between the tips of his fingers.
"I do not need my true form to defeat a weakling like you," Kronos growled as he climbed to his feet, his hair smoldering from the energy that had been channeled through his unprepared form.
At that moment Typhon stepped into the Hudson and sunk up to mid-calf. The sound of a conch horn being blown swept through Manhattan.
"But you would need it most definitely to beat both of us, father," Poseidon asserted as he faded into view, dropping the phase cloak his son had crafted for him.
The sea god was wearing a set of enchanted full body armor that his son had personally crafted to aid the deity in battle. Poseidon glowed brightly with a blue green aura of power matched by the trident he held in his grasp. Kronos' features betrayed concern for a moment but a sneer was quickly plastered on the Titan's borrowed face.
"No matter, I will still teach you two why you do not challenge your father," Kronos growled.
Harry sensed an army of sea based warriors swimming up the river created by the Naiad. Tyson was leading this force. Even as his father and uncle exploded into action against Kronos the reality traveler turned his attention to Typhon. The wizard apparated in front of the storm giant's path. Typhon didn't even notice the much smaller super being until a powerful current began to swirl around the Titan's legs. A whirlpool developed that pulled at the moving mountain's feet, impeding his movement. Typhon roared in anger and protest. Water also began to swirl up around Harry. The mage's form disappeared in a water spout that grew rapidly in thickness and height. The column of swirling liquid quickly reached the heavens which grew even more turbulent as Harry's storm powers clashed with those of Typhon.
Thirty seconds after the appearance of the water spout much of the water fell away to reveal a giant equal in size to Typhon facing the Titan. This giant was covered in a thick skin of enchanted ice. Typhon roared at the challenger whose features were identical to the heir of the sea god. Harry was floating in the center of his ice avatar, controlling the giant magical construct's movements. The warlock lashed out with a powerful jab at Typhon's throat. The bellow cut off abruptly as the Titan's windpipe was crushed. The phoenix hybrid followed up with a knee delivered to Typhon's groin. The son of Gaea recovered quickly though and head butted the icy warrior.
Cracks appeared in the water wizard's icy skin around his forehead but the mage's powers quickly regenerated the shell. The two giant warriors began pummeling each other with blows that sounded like mountains were being blown to dust via nuclear explosions with each pounding assault. Harry was working his magic in a subtler way which his opponent didn't start to notice for about two minutes into their fight. The mage hadn't been trying to do more than keep Typhon in the river as of yet. This tactic was employed to keep Typhon from noticing that he was shrinking ever so slowly. When Typhon's opponent was a full head taller than he was the storm giant realized something was wrong. The largest son of Gaea wasn't blessed with a great amount of intelligence but soon realized he was shrinking.
Harry was tapping deep into his power cores, more than he had ever utilized his energy reserves before, to work the size reducing charm on his enemy. Typhon went from being taller than the Chrysler Building to the size of more average skyscrapers and just kept shrinking. The Titan didn't stop shrinking even when he had reached mortal size. All during this time the other Olympians had backed off of their assault. Some of the Olympians went to aid the forces defending Olympus, chief among these super beings was Athena. Some of the deities aided Poseidon and Zeus. Several of the gods and goddesses simply stared at the battle between the two giants with amazement.
When Typhon had reached the size of a mortal's toy doll he vanished. The former storm giant was now sharing an enchanted prison sphere next to his brother Hyperion. If either of the imprisoned Titans ever managed to come close to escaping, their cages would act like portkeys and transport them into the heart of the nearest black hole.
"What are you?" Hermes demanded of the son of Poseidon as the defeater of Typhon allowed his giant form to dissolve back into the Hudson.
"I can be either your greatest enemy or an ally. You decide," the mage asserted as a column of water carried him down to the shoreline where Poseidon and Zeus were still battling Kronos.
A bubble like dome of energy surrounded the three super beings. Harry approached the energy barrier where Ares, Hera, and Hephaestus were attempting to breach the dome. The amount of energy being thrown at Kronos' time dilation field was enough to vaporize a small moon. Hermes had been shielding the energy from harming the surrounding environment. Most mortals were still asleep in the surrounding environment.
"Jackson," Ares growled as he and his two family members paused in their bombardment of the dome.
"You are your father's son," Hephaestus mused. "And then some," the god added.
"No time for pleasantries," the sorcerer said before activating his phase technology and passing clean through the time dilation barrier via a higher dimension.
Kronos and Zeus didn't look so good. Poseidon didn't look too terribly ruffled. The sea ruler's task had simply been to delay his brother and father from killing each other until Typhon was dealt with. Kronos was currently starting to glow golden while Luke's mortal skin began to smolder.
"It won't be long and then I will have the power to kill you all," Kronos declared with a sneer.
"You know old man…you have been trying to kill me for years. You have yet to succeed," Harry taunted.
"He has a point," Zeus pointed out. "How did you manage to deal with Typhon, boy?" The lightning wielder inquired, having noticed the giant's absence through the time bubble only moments before.
Although he had not witnessed the end of Typhon it didn't take a genius to realize the only difference to the fight had been Jackson's arrival. Zeus knew his nephew had always managed to come out on top before.
"Wouldn't you like to know," was the warlock's reply as he stood next to his father.
Any further talk was cut off as Kronos caught his "breathe" enough to continue the fight. The Titan lunged at the newest arrival. Poseidon was waiting. In a well practiced move the sea god waited until his father was almost to his son before blurring with incredible speed and grasped his father's wrists from behind. The sparring, training, and intense working out over the past few years had paid off for the Earth Shaker.
"You can't hold me for long, boy," Kronos growled while struggling against his offspring's surprisingly strong grip.
"He doesn't need to," the dark haired Hallow Master declared with a smirk.
Harry's hands came up and encircled the Titan's left arm in a particular spot that was covered in armor. The armor did nothing to protect the Titan from the Master of Death. Brilliant green energy surged from the mage's palms into the mortal point that represented the anchor to Luke's invulnerability. Dianna had told her mate exactly where Luke's vulnerable point was after the son of Hades' dip in her river. The phoenix hybrid was now channeling the most powerful killing curse ever created directly into that mortal point. Kronos screamed. The fabric of reality twisted and bent from the Titan's pain. There was nothing the Time Lord could do to resist the reality traveler's abilities. The magic of the wizarding curse forced Luke's mortal soul out of his body. Without that soul the magic tying the Titan to the mortal's form unwound. Kronos essence began to disperse.
Luke's flesh started dissolving to ash so Poseidon released his hold. The sea god reached out and plucked the mortal soul of Luke from the dissolving body before depositing the demigod's essence into a special runic container made by his son.
"How long do you think it will be until they wake up?" Harry asked his father who had more experience with his divine family who were lying strewn along the Hudson River shoreline.
The magical backlash from Kronos' disembodiment had knocked the Olympians present unconscious.
"Not long, a few minutes at most," Poseidon answered as his enchanted armor phased back into existence with the mundane world.
The phase protection feature of the armor Poseidon and Harry were wearing was the only thing that had allowed father and son to remain unaffected by the Titan's defeat.
"Then we had best get your father situated with his brothers," Harry suggested.
The warlock began using modified soul magic enchantments to collect the Titan's essence. Kronos' consciousness wasn't coherent enough at the moment to put up much resistance and was soon imprisoned in a cage similar to the constructs that held his two defeated brothers.
Zeus was the first of the Olympians present to wake followed closely by Hera.
"What happened?" Zeus demanded.
"Peace brother…our father is dealt with. He will not plague us anymore," Poseidon assured.
"That isn't good enough. What happened exactly?" Zeus demanded. "You had also better tell me what your son did to Typhon and how he did it."
"I don't have to tell you a thing, Zeus. For too long you have bullied Hades and I around to get your way. No longer," Poseidon declared as his eyes glowed sea green.
Zeus' eyes took on a blue glow the color of electricity as his master bolt crackled in his hands. Poseidon's trident also took on a bright glow which matched his eyes.
"Boys," the annoying voice of Hera broke in as she stepped between her two brothers. "Poseidon, stop baiting him. Zeus dear, you don't need to know everything. Besides, it would be in poor taste to start a war between the gods just after surviving the second Titan war."
The goddess usually acted as a mediator between the members of her family. Their sister's words had the right effect on the two elder Olympians to make them back down. The glow faded from the two super beings' eyes.
"We will discuss this later. For now we need to return to Olympus and assess the damage. Hermes, begin the cleanup efforts," Zeus ordered before flying off in a flash that made it appear as if he had teleported.
"May we live in interesting times indeed," Hera muttered before departing as well.
"What happened to Luke?" Hermes questioned as he stepped closer to the two sea manipulators.
"Your son is ok, Hermes. His essence is contained within this container," Poseidon explained as he summoned the enchanted container from the trunk provided by his son.
"I have the ability to make him a new cloned body. We can transfer his essence into that body. I have also healed May's mind and soul. I will make sure they are reunited. It will take a few weeks before Luke is ready to see anybody. It will take that long before he adapts to his new body," Harry explained.
"I did not thing such a thing was possible. Apollo could not even help May," Hermes said in amazement. "And to have Luke whole again is simply a miracle."
"There are powers in this world far older than Apollo and we gods, Hermes. Remember that," Poseidon instructed.
"I will. Please let me know when I can see them. I hope Luke understands why I could not intervene," Hermes replied, whispering the last part to himself.
"I am sure he will. Being trapped in his body with a Titan has probably given Luke a better understanding of the manipulations of the Fates," Poseidon assured.
Hermes nodded in agreement before zooming off. Harry and Poseidon teleported back to the battle front in Manhattan itself to find the remaining fighters cleaning up. Most fighters were wounded in some way but most wounds were quickly healed by the sea god's heir and his mates. The bodies of nine beings were damaged beyond repair; two tree spirits, three Naiads, three campers, and one Hunter. It was a miracle so few had been injured that badly. But Harry's mates had done their jobs well and had collected the essences of those badly injured beings in enchanted containers. Clone bodies would be grown rapidly via time dilation over the course of the next few days. The cloning technology was a mixture of mundane technology with a few magical enhancements.
The Naiad had already returned to the Hudson with her crew. The temporary channel the ship had forged inland vanished. The armies of Poseidon were aiding with the cleanup.
"Percy…you didn't die!" Tyson declared as he found his brother and rushed to hug the phoenix hybrid.
"You should know better than to think I would have fallen to a couple of Titans, bro," Harry teased his favorite Cyclopes while returning a strong hug.
"We should probably go to the council Zeus will have called," Poseidon informed his two sons.
"I will take Tyson. Annabeth, Thalia, and the others are already on Olympus," Harry informed his companions.
"Where is Calypso?" Poseidon queried worriedly.
"Right here," the beautiful Titaness spoke up as she faded into view.
"There is no hiding that you are out of your prison now. You might as well come along with Percy. Zeus knew Prometheus was free eons ago but never did anything about it because it was Hercules, Zeus' own son, who freed Prometheus. I will point that out to my brother if he makes a fuss," Poseidon asserted before turning into mist and shooting into the sky towards Olympus.
The wind gods were no longer watching over Olympus with the Lord of the Sky returned but despite that Harry, Calypso, and Tyson arrived on Olympus via apparation. The trio showed up just outside the throne room of the Olympians. The Council had just been called to order moments before the Chosen One and his companions entered. Zeus merely glared at Calypso but did not make any comment about her presence. Poseidon had already telepathically talked with his brother. Calypso helping out the defending armies went a long way in staying Zeus' hand. The King of Olympus made all those present listen to a long speech about how brave the Olympians were. Harry mostly tuned this out until Zeus focused on some interesting parts.
"He is so arrogant," Calypso projected to her mates.
"One of the pitfalls of being a god and being worshipped by many," Aphrodite pointed out.
"We are grateful for the assistance provided by Hades," Zeus managed to say although it appeared to pain him. The puppet ruler of the Underworld wore the expected arrogant smirk. "The assistance of Poseidon and his son was invaluable in defeating Kronos and Typhon," the Lord of the Sky grudgingly admitted. The assembled deities pounded their weapons in approval. "Now we must remember to thank our young heroes. Thalia my daughter if you wish it I will grant you immortality."
"That would have been a great gift father if I was not already immortal," Thalia pointed out.
"What? I do not sense that you are immortal," Zeus pointed out as he probed his daughter with his divine senses.
"Of course you do not. We learned how to cloak that type of thing at the Academy in the more advanced classes," Thalia explained. "We managed to secret away a few golden apples when we were in the garden of the Hesperides on our quest to the garden."
Zeus glared at Aphrodite and said, "I suppose that is your doing. You always were the best of us at aura manipulation. Alright daughter, what would you like as a reward if not immortality?"
"Father, I would like you to make peace with Percy and not give him a hard time. I love him," Thalia asserted as she took her mate's hand.
Shifting uncomfortably in his throne Zeus grumbled, "Very well. I suppose I can do that." Zeus' response earned a beaming smile from his dark haired daughter. "Tyson, son of Poseidon, for your leadership of the forces of your father you will be granted a commission as a General in the armies of Olympus. A weapon of your choosing will be crafted for you by Hephaestus," Zeus continued. Looking at Dionysus, Zeus mentally sent, "You reward the satyr."
"Grover Underwood, you are appointed to the Council of the Cloven Elders. It seems Leneus managed to get himself eaten by a pack of hell hounds. You are now a Lord of the Wild," Dionysus informed the amazed satyr.
"Annabeth," Athena drew her daughter's attention. "I suppose you are already immortal as well," the Goddess of Wisdom surmised, earning a nod of agreement from her daughter. "Well I know how much you like the task of designing architecture. Olympus is in need of some upgrades and much of our remaining strongholds throughout the country have been badly damaged by the enemy. We would like you to design new and better structures that will stand up to the punishment of future wars. I think the Council would also like to construct a series of magical shelters for our unclaimed children throughout the country at routine intervals so that the monsters of the world cannot harm them. These sanctuaries will also be designed by you, the official Architect of Olympus."
"Yes, my lady," Annabeth agreed.
"And now that brings us to your reward, my son," Poseidon spoke up.
Harry stepped forward and gave a short bow to his father, purposefully ignoring Zeus.
"You dare to refuse me courtesy in my own chamber, boy?" Zeus' voice demanded as thunder crackled in the sky outside.
"I will not pay honor to idiots. Athena advised you that Typhon was just a distraction yet you ignored her sage advice," Harry pointed out.
The throne room was deathly silent for a moment as Zeus' expression clouded over. The King of the Gods had been barely able to suppress his usual arrogance and temper before but that insult would not go unchallenged.
"Smite his ass, my husband," Hera barked.
The master bolt appeared in Zeus' right hand, crackling with energy. Poseidon and none of the other deities moved to intervene. The deities not in the know about Harry's true might were curious to see how the confrontation would play out. As Zeus drew upon his natural powers and focused them through his favorite weapon an enchantment laid upon the master bolt by the weapon's current target activated. A large portion of the attack's energy was shunted into a powerful shield charm designed to keep energy inside instead of blocking attacks from outside. The remaining energy gathering was slowed quite a bit. This gave the Hallow Master the time he needed to reach deep within his network of power cores and open a portal, a wormhole, to a very interesting place. The immortal firebird animagus reached through time and space via the wormhole and drew out a highly dangerous type of energy from an alternate universe. The majority of the matter in this alternate reality was comprised of antimatter.
Zeus' lightning bolt was composed of electrons. The lightning bolt Harry generated from the antimatter universe was composed of positrons. Due to the slowing of Zeus' bolt generation capabilities the warlock's attack struck first, right on Zeus' bolt. The resulting explosion was more powerful than any nuclear bomb. The containment shield only dampened some of the sound. The sonic blast ripped through the throne room as a new star was born around the King of the Gods. When the light cleared Zeus laid on the ground with his body a mangled mess and his form flickering intermittently. The Lord of the Sky was in a coma. The other Olympians were speechless. Ares growled and made to draw his massive skull sword from where it sat in a sheath attached to his throne.
"Do not even think about it, asshole…you would not stand a chance. How would you like to be imprisoned for eternity in a cage with Typhon?" The warlock threatened. "When Zeus wakes up tell him a new age has dawned, one where you Olympians are not the scariest beings in the verse."
The phoenix animagus disappeared in a flash of flames.
"I like his style," Aphrodite declared with a grin, causing some of the other deities to look at her in bewilderment.
The goddess of love held no fear from her adoptive family. The currently blonde beauty was the last daughter of Uranus and therefore more powerful than any Olympian sitting on the Council, including Zeus.
A few days later, St. Thomas'…
Harry sensed the goddess before she walked into view a short ways down the beach. Athena was wearing a very skimpy blue string bikini and no top.
"She is gorgeous," Rachel observed as the deity approached from several dozen yards off.
"Thank you, my girl," Athena replied as she drew nearer. Rachel blushed as she realized the Goddess of Wisdom had superb hearing. Athena conjured a beach chair like the other two immortals were lying upon and sat down on the water wizard's other side. "Annabeth told me I might find you here."
"I will give you two some time to talk," Rachel said as she stood and walked down the beach towards her family's vacation home.
"She is quite attractive herself," Athena acknowledged while watching the younger woman's shapely behind move away.
"Indeed," Harry agreed. "So what brings you to see me, Athena?"
"I have finally figured you out…at least partially," the grey eyed deity declared with a somewhat triumphant grin.
"What gave me away?" The warlock questioned, curious if Athena really knew the truth.
"The positron bolt. It took me awhile to figure out what you did but when I did figure it out I realized you had tapped into another universe. Your powers and abilities are so different to anything we Olympians have encountered before. It was not a great leap in logic from that point to realize you are from another universe. I am just not sure how that could be when Percy Jackson was born in this universe. Are you possessing Percy?" Athena inquired.
"Not quite. I am the mixture of two versions of my being, one from this universe and one from another," replied the sorcerer.
"Fascinating," an excited Athena declared with a grin. "I bet you have all kinds of new and interesting concepts and bits of knowledge to depart. I would love to pick your brain."
"I am afraid there is only one way I will allow you to do that," Harry asserted while vanishing his clothes.
Athena only hesitated a moment before standing up while vanishing her bikini bottom and in doing so agreeing to the unsaid terms for learning the knowledge she sought.
Smut Scene Redacted (See Author's Notes at End)
Much time later…
"So how did you get Hades to lift that curse he put on the Oracle of Delphi?" Athena questioned as she perused the massive digital library through one of the computer systems on Mars.
Annabeth had made a point of digitizing any of her favorite male's quite vast collection of magical and non-magical books that were not already in his computer system. Athena had gotten a general review of her new mate's history but not much in fine detail. The reason the goddess asked was because just recently a new young woman had come forward to take on the mantle of the Oracle. The Fates had obviously wanted Rachel to take up the mantle given how many visions they had been sending the burgeoning Seer but that just wasn't going to happen. The Oracle had to pledge herself to Apollo, something one of the Hallow Master's mates would never do.
"Oh…did I forget to mention that Hades has been telepathically altered so that he is my completely loyal slave," Harry replied nonchalantly.
"I suppose I should get used to the amazing things you can do," Athena put forth after a few moments to process such an incredible declaration. "So what do you make of the new Great Prophecy our new Oracle made?"
Harry recalled the prophecy that was all the buzz among the campers, the gods, and the magical community at large.
"Seven half-bloods shall answer the call. To storm or fire, the world must fall. An oath to keep with a final breath, And foes bear arms to the Doors of Death."
"Well the Doors of Death likely means something is going to happen to Thanatos. We know Gaea is stirring. Perhaps she could be causing trouble in the magical community. Rachel and I collaborated using both of our sight abilities to try to divine a better picture of the future. We didn't get anything concrete but we did get the sense that the Fates' picture through the new Oracle was incomplete. They still cannot factor in the variables my presence and actions have thrown into their plans," explained the water wizard.
Rachel may not have been the Oracle of Delphi but she was still a powerful Seer. The Oracle simply enhanced and augmented a mortal Seer's natural talents and abilities. Most wizards had instinctual second Sight. Together Harry and the heiress could augment each other's abilities.
"I still have trouble believing you actually found a way to shield this world from the sight of the Fates. That makes me so hot," the Goddess of Wisdom declared as she walked over to the chair the magician had been reading comfortably in and sat in his lap.
"Anything that turns you on is good in my book, gorgeous," Harry purred before tenderly kissing the buxom blonde.
Camp Half Blood…
Harry walked through the much changed Camp with a lightness in his step, a demeanor mirrored by the residents of the magical valley. With the war over the sons and daughters of the Olympians could relax for awhile, at least until the next great stirring or unrest arose. The powerful reality traveler wasn't too concerned. The beings the warlock held most dear were protected by his many enchantments or the abilities of his many allies. Sally Jackson, a younger immortal, was now the Queen of Poseidon. With Amphitrite following her son to the other side while the second Titan war was still in full swing the sea god had sought out someone he was more compatible with. Harry's mother couldn't be happier with the situation.
The Camp was also undergoing some changes and expansions. New cabins were being built to house the children of the minor gods and goddesses in an effort to stave off support for the enemy should another war ever arise. With Zeus still incapacitated the Olympian Council mostly stayed silent on minor matters. The inclusion of the minor deities' cabins at Camp was a minor issue. There were plenty of new children of the divine to find as well from all over the world. More demigods and demigoddesses popped up on the Academy's magical detectors than ever before. Harry knew from his lovers and family that this new flood of half bloods was due to the fact that the gods and goddesses, minor and major, were no longer shielding most of their children from detection now that the threat of being dragged into a Titan war was diminished. Deities always kept a reserve of their half mortal children hidden away from awareness of the children's divine parentage in case the acknowledged offspring were killed off. Such an action was actually quite prudent.
More than any other time in history deities feared less for their children's safety thanks to the efforts of the defeater of Typhon and his extended family. The Academy provided extra protection year round beyond what Camp Half Blood could furnish. The nature spirits under the leadership of Grover were taking care of most of the retrieval. The aforementioned nature spirits were much better prepared to protect their charges than before thanks to various enchanted weapons and armors manufactured at the Academy. If worse came to worse the well funded and well supplied satyrs could call in one of the super beings friendly to their efforts such as Thalia, Annabeth, or those two females' extended family. Woe unto any monster or entity requiring divine intervention from the group of beautiful females Harry was lucky enough to classify as his lovers.
The magician's walk took him to the beach where Chiron was waiting.
"I just wanted to wish you for a safe journey and to thank you for all you have done, Percy," Chiron said as he held out his hand.
While he grasped the hero trainer's arm affectionately Harry replied, "It is I who should thank you for all you have done, Chiron. Without you none of us would have been trained enough to take on our enemies."
With discerning eyes and a half smile Chiron suggested, "Somehow I don't think my training made much difference when it came to you, Percy."
"We will never know I guess. Now that your immortality is no longer conditional to your training heroes you should consider taking some time off for vacation," the warlock suggested.
Chiron had been granted permanent immortality for so long as he desired to live on due to his many years of service to the Olympians. Harry may have suggested the idea to his father and mates who agreed to the notion and pushed it through the Council.
"I will consider it," agreed Chiron. "But not until you get back. I wouldn't feel safe leaving Camp unless I knew you were protecting it."
"I am always around, Chiron," Harry declared with a wink before leaping into the air as fiery wings sprouted from his back.
The centaur watched as the powerful heir of Poseidon, defeater of many Titans, and the greatest hero of all time shot towards The Naiad docked offshore. Chiron hoped Percy Jackson found the peace and relaxation he sought on his vacation. The keen eyed phoenix animagus soon touched down on his massive ship in the middle of a group of stunningly gorgeous females, all of whom were sunbathing in the nude.
"It is about time you got here, handsome," Annabeth called.
"Honey, you should realize all men are slow," Athena told her daughter, eliciting some laughs from the assembled females.
"I am quick enough to keep up with all of you," rebutted the grinning warlock.
"Yeah but you don't have the stamina to keep up with all of us," Thalia argued.
"She just loves to bait him," Zoe whispered to Artemis loud enough for all of the enhanced beings present to overhear.
"Yes, but we always reap the rewards," Furusia pointed out.
"And they are great rewards," Choria agreed.
"I do so love you all," a highly amused Aphrodite declared with a laugh at the antics of her family.
"And we love you, honey," Calypso replied.
"I propose we set a goal for this trip of collectively tiring our man out," Persephone suggested.
"A worthy goal," Dianna agreed as the other beauties arrayed on the deck of the now moving ship nodded their heads in concurrence.
Rachel with a small smirk on her lips announced, "I foresee that will never happen."
"You are damn right it won't," a suddenly nude Master of Death asserted as he relaxed his control over his aura a bit, letting some of his divine power flow.
The heady aura of power washed over the females present and set the now vacationing immortal women's bodies alight with desire for their warrior wizard.
"Let's get him, ladies!" Annabeth called as she jumped to her feet and proceeded to rush her favorite sorcerer.
As Annabeth was the first to reach the laughing Potter magician she rode him down to the magically cushioned deck where she began kissing him heatedly. The grey eyed brunette, Harry's first lover in this universe, was not the last to pounce on him at that moment. Buried under a pile of female flesh the skilled phoenix animagus concentrated on pleasuring his many wonderful mates and deriving pleasure from them. The future was uncertain for the most part but one aspect of reality that would always remain constant for Harry Potter was that he would always continue to love the women with him on the deck of The Naiad and they him in all forms of the concept.
